I have stayed in many cabins in north GA, eastern TN, and western NC over the years and none comes close to having the views found here.....simply gorgeous. This very private cabin has ample room for 4 adults plus many kids, is super clean, and is well organized. The distance from the cabin to downtown Bryson City is roughly 10 minutes and the beautiful drive goes right along the Nantahala river. The owner Rob not only seeks to be helpful but is very professional in his management of the property. If you are looking for a great place near Bryson City, I highly recommend this property. You will not be disappointed.

Longview Cabin has been a truly wonderful experience for us. It is very well-kept and fully equipped ( and I mean, seriously -- completely equipped! All you have to do is get your groceries!) . The place had everything we needed and offered a genuine "home-away-from-home"feel. The beds were comfy, the living room cozy, and the kitchen was topnotch. Also loved being able to cook on the grill;-) We had the fireplace going every day we spent there. Absolutely no issues there -- all the logs we needed were provided...all we needed to do was get it going and sit back and enjoy. THE VIEW? Incredibly breathtaking and magnificent! Panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains absolutely stunning especially in the morning. We got to see different facets of the mountains throughout the day and into the early evening. The drive up the steep but paved road was no problem-- definitely worth the ride. :-) Robert(the owner) is very well-mannered and prompt. This is the perfect cabin getaway. P.S. Lots of things to do --- don't miss out on the Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours! It was totally cool! ;-)

We just returned from a long weekend at Longview cabin. The cabin is wonderful! It is stocked with absolutely anything you could need and is in excellent condition. The view is simply amazing! We enjoyed the close proximity to so many fun activities in Bryson City. The owners were very helpful, going above and beyond what we expected to provide detailed directions and information about the area. We look forward to renting this cabin again very soon.

My wife and I stayed at Longview during the peak leaf change season. We have visited the area many times and tried different accomodations, but this time we hit the jackpot with "Longview." The cabin and the view were absolutely world class. The inside of the cabin and all of the furnishings were very tasteful and very comfortable. The warm and luxurious feeling of the cabin made us feel at home and very special. We new we had given ourselves that special high quality vacation we were seeking. There is absolutely nothing lacking from the experience. A tremendous vacation value.

The cabin is, as advertised, quite beautiful! We arrived in the evening to a wonderful view of the Smoky Mountains. Directions were very easy to follow, just got lost briefly in Bryson City due to our GPS, but quickly back on track. Also, I had accidentally deleted my email with the lockbox number, but a quick call to Robert fixed that. The drive up, in the development, is quite steep but paved, so no problem in the summer. (I can imagine that a 4-wheel drive would be helpful, and possibly necessary, in the winter) The cabin seems very new and well built, everything was extremely clean, even the outside furniture. Plenty of towels and linens, bathrooms and kitchen are modern and very well stocked. We didn't have a single problem with anything (TV, laundry, kitchen appliances, grill, etc....) The view from the large windows (in the living area) and the deck is truly stunning, you can only fully see one other house (and a few partial views of houses way off in the distance). Otherwise, an unspoiled view of Smoky Mountains National Park. Truly amazing in the morning (with the "smoke") and evening (beautiful sunsets to the west). The deck looks North and West. We loved playing ping-pong in the basement and eating at the table with the great view! Our interaction with the owner (Robert) was always prompt, courteous, and very easy. The place was very clean and exceeded our expectations. Some great places to visit in the area: Clingman's Dome - highly recommend this, great views and a fairly short (though steep) hike to the lookout. Mingo Falls - short hike up some stairs to a beautiful waterfall. NOC - nice place to watch rafters/kayakers, grab a bite to eat, and just enjoy the river.

This was our 2nd visit to Longview Cabin. We have kids aging from 21 to 8. We all enjoyed the experience this cabin provides. From my perspective (the Dad) the cabin is outfitted so nice. The first visit in 2007 was great, the recent visit in 2011 was just as great! There were several additions like the pool table/ping-pong. but we liked the horseshoe pits best. My wife and oldest daughter spent considerable time in the screened porched area reading and relaxing. I spent most of my time on the north deck looking at the mountains. Relaxing watching the clouds, the birds, the rain, the fog, it is just an extraordinary view. And it was so quiet. There are other cabins on the ridge, but to see or hear others is rare. The cabin itself is outfitted better than any other cabin we have rented. I describe the kitchen as a gourmet kitchen. It has every utensil and appliance you could think of wanting. We didn't use half of it. Comfort, beautiful, relaxing We'll be back

What a view! It definitely is a million dollar view. We had a great time in the beautiful house and spent as much time outside on the deck as possible.

The setting is amazingly wonderful, no doubt, but your house was perfect. Our son learned to play ping pong and we enjoyed every nook and cranny of the place. Your home was wonderfully equipped with everything we could think of needing...if we needed it, there it was right in a drawer or cupboard. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home - we had a wonderful, memorable vacation and your house played a big role in that. It exceeded our wildest expectations - what a treat to pull into the driveway late in the afternoon, just in time to watch the "show" on the mountains. We felt we'd won the lottery! Thanks again, The Rose Family, Virginia

We just returned from our trip to Longview, I already wish we were back. We were there for one week in June, 2011. The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. The owner is super to work with. He and his wife have put alot of thought and effort in making this cabin, homey, comfortable and a place to truely relax and enjoy. True there is no wifi, unless you have your own card, but the idea is to get away and enjoy. We saw a turkey with her biddies, lots of squirels, butterflys and birds of all kinds. The temperature in the morning was perfect and afternoons were cooler than where we live by 10 to 15 degrees so a nice break form a hot summer. Activities in the area are numerous. We took a 16 and 18 year old and kept them entertained with whitewater rafting, ziplining, a jeep tour, fishing, ruby and saphire mining, hiking and a visit to Cherokee. At the cabin they played pool and pingpong as well as watched TV. The cabin was complete. The only thing we added was the actual food that we wanted to eat. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay, that is close to all the area activities, but you also want to get away and relax, this is the perfect place with a million dollar view! You will not be disappointed.

We just returned from Longview Cabin for the first time, and we will certainly hope to return in the future. We stayed for a week with our three children, and our 21 year old nephew. The cabin was beautiful, comfortable, and well-equipped, just as promised. The owner was so pleasant to deal with, and went out of his way to make sure that everything was perfect for us. His directions and suggestions were timely and accurate (make sure you pay attention to where to park or you will be spinning tires in the gravel!). The views from the deck are fabulous, and it is a wonderful location for enjoying the beautiful area. We can't wait to return to Longview Cabin!

Longview cabin's view was all it was said to be and more. The photos could not do the place justice. The cabin was beautifully decorated and well equipped. We had basically everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving dinner for our large group. The cabin was beautiful yet had the home feel to it. There was plenty of room for everyone no matter what the activity. No other cabins were too close for comfort. We had a great time playing pool and ping pong. There were enough porches to spread out and be alone if necessary. The furnishings were beautiful as well as comfortable. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants a beautiful place with an unmatched view. Although we had a few rainy days, the view was still amazingly beautiful. Mr. Denney was wonderful to work with. He answered my emails in a timely manner and gave clear answer for anything I needed to ask. We received our security deposit back in record time. We couldn't have asked for a better person to deal with. Our expectations were met in every way. You won't be disappointed in renting Longview. Just be sure to take along a camera.

As others have said, pictures cannot do the view justice. Simply amazing. We were just as impressed with the overall condition of the cabin. Clean, comfortable, and extremely well appointed. We cooked all our meals and everything we needed was there. That's a rarity among rental cabin kitchens. We did lots of hiking - 2 acess points to the Great Smoky Mtn National Park were just 15-25 minutes away. Owner was extremely helpful and responsive to our questions ahead of time. We'll be back!

The view of the Smoky Mountains is simply breathtaking. The cabin is very well designed and decorated. Large windows face the mountains and allow a picturesque view from inside the cabin. Well equipped kitchen. Easy drive from Bryson City which allows access to restaurants and grocery stores. During our visit there was an abundance of butterflies and many birds to watch making it a great place to reconnect with nature. Rental process was very organized as was the house. We look forward to our next trip to Longview Cabin.

If you love being in the mountains - this is the place to come. We were awed by the view and and when we went inside we were so impressed. This is no shabby rustic vacation rental. It was clean, modern and looked like someone's year round home on the inside. It was comfortable to hang out and sleep! And, the front porch was a great place to sit back and relax. We spent time on the Smokey Mountain Railway, driving around, rented a pontoon boat on Fontana Lake (beautiful!!!) and went to see Unto These Hills. But thoroughly enjoyed coming back to the "cabin" to relax and grill out! The only thing we couldn't find was a grill brush to clean the charcoal grill but we worked around that (and there's also a gas grill if you prefer)! The owners were very pleasant to work with and quick to respond and refund the deposit! I highly recommend this as a place to stay and will likely be going back!

The cabin was just what we needed for vaction which included 2 families. We felt that the name needed to be changed to "Heaven's Door" -- the view is really that gorgeous! The cabin was clean and very well equipped. Our children enjoyed the cabin so much that they did ask for us to stay at the cabin instead of visiting the area attractions. We were able to enjoy Deep Creek, Bryson City, Asheville, and Dollywood. The view of the mountains was breathtaking, so we had to have dinner on the deck a couple of evenings to enjoy the serene surroundings. I would definately recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing get away. *The Johnson Family + 1 *The Leprettre Family **The "LeJohnson" crew!!**

this is a wonderful cabin to relax and enjoy the mountains. our week was a very hot steamy week outdoors but the cabin is wonderfully cool inside and with the huge picture windows when it got to hot outside we sat in comfortable lazy boy recliners inside in front of the windows and enjoyed every minute of it. we did not want to leave the cabin as it was just like being home but in a beautiful setting with peace and quiet. If we ever win the lottery we will call the owner and see if he will sell it to us because it is perfect. the owner made sure everything was provided to ensure our wonderful stay. we were there to look for a piece of property of our own to build on but did not find one as beautiful as this.

My husband and I travel a lot and this was our best vacation ever! The beautiful cabin, cozy town, and great people of Bryson City were more than we could have hoped for. Words and pictures cannot describe how perfect the cabin is...it ireally is a little slice of heaven! The cabin has amazing mountain views, is meticulously organized and is a perfect distance from town and lots of other activities. There was nothing that we needed that wasn't at the cabin. We especially enjoyed playing board games by the fire as we made a point not to watch any tv while on vacation...with the exception of the Celtics/Lakers playoff game. The town is so nice and cozy and pleasurable to shop and eat and the people were so friendly. When our truck broke down one day on the road to the cabin, every single passer-by stopped and asked if we needed help. We even accepted a ride into town to the auto parts store and back from a complete stranger and didn't think twice about it...something we would never do at home. It was such a great thing to experience. The cabin is perfectly located so that all the activities were just a short drive away...Deep Creek is a wonderful place for hiking and tubing and has 3 amazing waterfalls within a short distance. Whitewater rafting on the Nantahala was so much fun. Cherokee and Pigeon Forge are a short distance away but were a little too congested for the vacation we wanted so we prefered to stay in Bryson CIty. After each daily activity, we couldn't wait to get back to the cabin, light a fire, cook dinner on the grill and have some drinks on the deck. We will definitely be returning the Longview in the future. Next time we would love to bring our family and friends to experience such an amazing place.

This was a little piece of heaven. The views are amazing. I took over 100 pictures of just the view. And the quiet, no sounds of traffic. The location was perfect. Close enough to most events we wanted to visit. We visited Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge they are about an hour away. The house was exceptionally clean and well maintained. There wasn't a cooking utensil that I needed that wasn't already there. We cooked at the house every night. I brought too much. Next time I can pack lighter. This was everything my husband and I had hoped for and we were not disappointed one little bit.

We were lucky to have booked the Longview cabin during the 2010 snow storm of the century!! It was an experience this Florida Family will recall forever! As Mr. Denny said "you wanted to see snow, well you got it". But enough of the weather let's talk about the house. This is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed (we have used HomeAway 9 times now) there was not a single thing you could have wanted that was not provided in the home. My son said the first morning it had the feeling of waking up Christmas morning. The location is very private but we also encountered fellow vacationers walking on the road and had a feeling of security. The local market had the friendliest staff and customers (the lady in line behind us gave us her discount card to use).

The owner was not kidding when he named the cabin Million $$$ Views at Longview Cabin. The views are amazing! Not only is the home beautiful (website does not do justice!), but it is also in a very quiet area. We drank coffee in the morning on one of the many decks and enjoyed the quiet evenings on the screened porch. I had no idea that "quiet" even existed anymore! The owner provided us with tips and helpful information prior to our stay and also requested that we contact him if we had any problems. He did not want anything to spoil our trip. Our family intends on making this a regular vacation spot!

The pictures of Longview Cabin don't do it justice. It is so beautiful, comfortable, cozy...am I gushing? The cabin deserves every compliment! In person, it was even better than what we saw online. Meticulously clean, it had all the amenities one could ask for. Bring your clothes and stop at the convenient supermarket on the way to the cabin to get food, then settle in. Everything else was provided for us - soaps, shampoos, dishwashing and laundry suppies, condiments and such. There was plenty of firewood for the woodburning fireplace with gas lighter (talk about convenient!) Beds are very comfortable, and the towels are soft and fluffy. The cabin easily sleeps 8 (9 if you put two kids on the futon in the loft). It is convenient to many little mountain towns for shopping or antiquing, Smoky Mt. Natl. Forest is minutes away, and it's a spectacular two hour drive to Gatlinburg or Dollywood. Asheville is about an hour away. The roads to the cabin are very good. And the view! Oh my goodness! You could see for miles and miles in a 180 degree range. And we could only count 8 faraway cabins within eyesight from the deck. And that was with all the leaves off the trees. In summer, you wouldn't see any. There is only one thing I would change about the cabin and that is to put the extra television in the master bedroom downstairs. Or get a third TV. We like to watch TV in bed, so we wound up sleeping upstairs in the kids' room with the queen bed and bunkbeds, which was kind of fun - like being at camp - but I'd still have preferred the master bedroom. Other than that, it couldn't have been more perfect, and I would highly recommend a stay at Longview Cabin.
