Come enjoy a six-bedroom, oceanfront home on one of the "United State’s top five family beaches," according to National Geographic’s 2003 Smart Traveler! Holden Beach, North Carolina has it all: a quaint, quiet, family beach, located only 35 minutes from South Carolina’s bustling, famous Myrtle Beach.

"Miles Away" is oceanfront, and located within the prestigious gated community of Holden Beach West. Walk out your private boardwalk to the beach. Leave your umbrella set up for the week: there are no crowds, no one expects you to take it down. Take a morning stroll on the beach to collect shells. Picnic on the deck while you enjoy the ocean views, and buy your seafood fresh off the boats on the Intracoastal Waterway for dinner. After dinner, take the kids back down to the beach to go "ghost crabbing," or to see if the baby sea turtles have hatched.

Six bedroom homes are rare at Holden Beach: This one sleeps 12, and can easily accommodate two to three families with children. The house came under new ownership in 2003, and has been significantly remodeled (new windows, new deck, wraparound porch, etc.) and entirely redecorated inside. There is a large, sunny family room and open kitchen, with cable TV, books, and games in the coffee table. It also features an over-sized dining table that allows everyone to come together for meals and conversation. There are two bedrooms downstairs, with a shared bath. Both bedrooms have two double beds, an oceanview, and a deck with a view of the Intercoastal Waterway.

There are an additional four bedrooms and two baths upstairs - all with ocean views. Three of the upstairs bedrooms have pairs of double beds, while the fourth has one queen-size bed. Two bedrooms (one downstairs, one up) have cable TVs. The house also features an oceanside, covered porch with a picnic table and rockers, a spacious outdoor shower and dressing area, and a covered parking area with a charcoal grill and a roll-out ping-pong table.

Holden Beach’s picturesque commercial strip is located just minutes away across the causeway, and features several restaurants, putt-putt, waterslides, bumper boats, and go-karts. There are 37 golf courses in Brunswick County (10 to 30 minutes away), as well as two marinas with access to the Intracoastal Waterway. Holden Beach also offers abundant opportunities for biking, hiking, and fishing.
