This cottage is owned by two families (brothers) and is situated in a private summer community called Castle Park. Email us if you would like to see a picture of the Castle and other pictures of the community. This private community is a perfect place for a vacation: private beach and access to Lake Michigan, 8 well maintained clay tennis courts, two pools (large and baby), an ice cream parlor, two playgrounds, a library (at the Castle), ball diamond, horseshoes, and an insulated community where kids can enjoy a little more "freedom."
Our cottage is 3 floors with most of the living on the top 2 floors. The main floor has 2 bedrooms (sleeping 4), and full bath, kitchen, and living room (with eating area). The top floor has 1 large bedroom and a full bath. (This room sleeps 4 -- fit for a family of 4 or the "kids" room). There is a another bedroom and bath in the basement (ground level) for more independent kids (there are no "internal" stairs down to this room). The cottage is hard wood floors throughout, has comfortable furniture, and is void of nick knacks. Because the cottage is shared by 2 families, it is well equipped with kids stuff for children 10 and under (beach toys, books, art supplies, and sports equipment). During July and August, there is an organized "play class" for kids ages 4 and above in the morning for $10/day.
We are about 100 steps to the private beach and you can leave your beach chairs down there during your stay. You can walk on the beach 1 mile North to the Macatawa lighthouse or South 10 miles to Saugatuck. Both Holland and Saugatuck have great restaurants and shopping.

About the owner: The cottage is owned by two families (brothers) who are 3rd generation owners. Both families live and work in Chicago and love going to Michigan on the weekends.
Why the Owner Chose Holland:
The Holland/Saugatuck/Macatawa area is terrific for so many summer activities. The Michigan beaches are sandy and clean. We love the Castle Park summer community tempo: some tennis in the morning, beach in the afternoon, a great dinner.
