We attended a wedding in Highlands in early September. A number of our family stayed at the house. It was terrific because it had the two separate guest house apartments and then several separate bedrooms in the main house. This allowed everyone to have privacy, but then to gather in the common rooms and entertain. The sunroom/living room was terrific. The fireplace provided just enough warmth to cut the chill. This was a perfect time as the area was sparsely populated and so it was a quiet long weekend. It was close enough to town to have to drive, but far enough to avoid traffic and noise. Having such a large house and separate guest house made everyone feel not crowded. It had a wonderful lived in cozy feel.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful stay at the "Edgewater Lodge". It was spacious yet cozy as well as secluded and convenient to Highlands and all the local places to visit to include waterfalls. While it was just the two of us, this would be a great place for a family reunion. I loved the back patio/garden..a great place to cook, relax and connect.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, people with disabilities, sightseeing, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My family and I recently stayed at Edgewater lodge for a few days. We found the house to be just as described on the Internet. It was a very warm and comfortable atmosphere with very nice amenities. We felt like we were staying in a lovely home. There was easy access to the town of Highlands which we enjoyed very much. I would love to return and would definitely recommend this to a friend or relative. The owner was extremely helpful and went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. I definitely would recommend a visit to the Old Edward's Inn in Highlands.

All of us enjoyed our stay of 1 week at Edgewater Lodge the first week in August 2010. The discription of the property was accurately described and photo's reflected the the amenities very well. The property is well suited for large family gatherings from young chlidren to seniors. The Main Building and the Guest Apartments allow for the opportunity of privacy or large gatherings if desired. Parking area is adequate. Property is clean and well kept and supplied with very good amenities. The area allows for nice short walks to the lake to feed the fish and ducks or longer ones for excercise. If one likes to hike there are wonderful trails to many mountains, rivers and falls. Our family ranges from 4yrs to 75yrs and we all expressed the desire to return to these accomadations in the future.
Recommended for:Sightseeing, pet owners, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
