We stayed 5 days and any shorter stay would have not been enough to enjoy the house, the environment and Hana. A paradise full of peace, privacy and details in the house that made our stay perfect. Seamless process with owners, easy, friendly. Thanks Helene for everything. Matias and Ruth (NY)

We found the hale to be perfect in every way. Beautiful and open floorplan, the house is situated to overlook the lovely property and ocean in the distance. Large sliding doors in every room and lots of light we felt we could really enjoy the outdoors while being in. Comfortable furnishings, beautifully yet simply decorated, well maintained, and very clean. I can't decide what was more heavenly the lani or the outdoor shower. A perfect base and retreat for all of our East Maui activities. The location, privacy, and quiet was just what we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were only sorry we didn't plan a longer visit. We look forward to returning to Hale Heavenly Hana.

We found the HHH absolutely lovely, and well appointed. The setting is gorgeous, and the house offers proximity to Hana and its beauty, as well as a place to just relax and watch the lovely grounds. We especially appreciated the picked fruit that welcomed us in a basket that came fresh from the grounds (8 acres of beauty). We hope we can return again soon.

Our group of four adults rented the Hale for two short nights in mid-July. It was hard to find anything available on the Hana coast for such a brief stay, but in the end we found the best with HHH! Just wish we could have stayed for a month! … Helene was easy to work with and very professional. I greatly appreciated her willingness to accommodate us. … The Hale was extremely comfortable, clean, and well maintained. The house felt secluded even though it’s right off the highway, and the grounds were immaculate. We could have sat on the screened-in porch and just listened to the birds for hours. The fresh fruit on the property (and in the welcome basket) was wonderful. The VRBO listing is accurate, and the house is every bit as amazing as the photos make it appear. … The kitchen is extremely well appointed. The living room is comfortable, and the whole house is wonderfully open to the outdoors (with plenty of screens, of course). No need for A/C here. The showers—both indoor and outdoor—are over the top. Loved them. … If you’re going to drive the road to Hana (and you should!), the only good way to do it is to stay at least one night in the Hana area. This allowed us to drive slowly, stop frequently to take in the scenery, and just enjoy the experience without feeling rushed. … We greatly enjoyed dinner at the Hana Ranch Restaurant. I also highly recommend making the hike to the beautiful Red Sand Beach, but be ready to find some nude sunbathers. … Bottom line, I would absolutely recommend the Hale to friends and family, as long as they’re not trying to book it for the dates I want.

Making Maui our destination for our 20th anniversary was a no brainer and choosing to stay in Hana for 3 days was very special. Our only mistake was battling the ridiculous crowds at Costco in Kahului upon arrival. For a short stay in Hana, get your essentials at Safeway, then hit the Hana Hwy. Don't travel this Hwy. without reading Maui Revealed, as so many wonderful sights are just driven by. A short drive from HHH towards Hana will answer any food worries you have. We made a stop @ HANA FRESH FARM every morning to pick up lunches for our hikes and our dinner, which you can just take back to the house. These ladies make incredible smoothies and have different & fresh food each day. This house has you covered, rain or shine. It is secluded with a distant view of the ocean. Eating, hanging out and reading on this screened porch is like being pampered in a custom tree house as you overlook the lush green vegetation below. As the evening cools and the rain begins, open the sliding doors and windows & sleep to sounds of your Hana rain forest! Joining our granddaughter on a search around the grounds was a highlight to identify the numerous flowers, fruit, coconut & macadamia nut trees. We saw our first bunch of banana trees. This entire house is well appointed; though the Master Bedroom mattress could be more comfortable. The Master shower and outdoor shower are like nothing you've ever seen. Upon arrival to HHH, having fresh flowers and a basket of fresh fruit was very welcoming! Do not miss sights: Wai'anapanapa State Park Trail, soft sands of Hamoa Beach, Venus Pools, 'Ohe'o Gulch & Pipiwai Trail and Lindbergh's grave. If you go beyond this point, expect to see a dry, desert like side of Maui & don't stop at the Kaupo Store unless you like the rude owner and her growling dog! Thanks Helene for a unforgettable stay. We hope HHH is available for our 25th!!

Owner response: We are so sorry that you found the master bedroom mattress uncomfortable. It is a top of the line unit that we had shipped in from Dallas, and several prior guests have complimented us on it. I guess individuals are unique in their mattress preferences, and am glad that this will not keep you from returning to the Hale. We look forward to having you celebrate your 25th anniversary with us.

What an amazing stay at Hale Heavenly Hana....we didn't want to leave. The owners were wonderful to communicate with and always answered emails quickly. The home is exactly as shown in the pictures....it is beautiful and has all the amenities you will need. LOVED cooking in the wonderful kitchen and loved the view of the mountain while preparing our meals. We enjoyed exploring the grounds and hunting for fresh fruit which was a treat. It is so peaceful and quiet...a true paradise. If we ever come back to Maui, this is where we will stay, I would not look anywhere else. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us!

The owners tips and recommendations were very helpful. We highly recommend walking over to the Clay Oven for pizza - good times and great food!! We would love to recommend this property, but we'd rather keep this heavenly spot to ourselves! :) Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. Mahalo!!!

This house is the most wonderful place you could imagine! The entire house is gorgeous and the kitchen is the best! We picked the fruit on the property each day and had glorious passion fruit margaritas every night. Rob, my husband was out every late afternoon looking for our fruit. He is a runner and was tramping through this gorgeous property looking for fresh fruit. This house is Heaven , we were so sad to leave!

Owner response: Fruit hunting is our passion in Hana. There's always plenty of wonderful produce to share.

This is an absolutely lovely two bedroom house nestled in the rainforest along the Hana Coast. The house is positioned on top of a giant fruit orchard with views of the ocean and trees below, including star fruit, papaya, banana, avocado, lemon, mango, and macadamia nut trees. You can hear the sounds of birds chirping throughout the day.. It's a very magical place. The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and well cared for. It felt like a home away from home. It had everything we needed including comfortable beds, washer&dryer, internet access, a wine cooler, a spacious kitchen with plenty of counter space and high-end appliances and nearly every utensil/small appliance you'd ever need, indoor and outdoor showers, a giant soaking tub, a screened lanai (which we spent a great deal of time on), a great TV, and even boogie boards and a few beach chairs. It has the perfect set up for a relaxing and peaceful vacation. When we arrived at the house, there was a giant bowl of fruit collected from around the property. There were also a few gorgeous tropical flower arrangements inside the house, which I loved. They stayed fresh and vibrant throughout the week. The house is very convenient to Wainapanapa State Park, Hamoa Beach, the red sand beach, the Seven Pools and bamboo forests, etc. The property is just across the highway (walking distance) from the BEST banana bread stand in Hana. It's a 5-10 minute drive to convenient stores and restaurants in town. I recommend stopping at a grocery store on your way to Hana because the stores in town are very limited. Overall this was a very lovely vacation. I would definitely come back!
