Tiburón, Spanish for shark, is home to the Franklin Templeton Shootout hosted by Greg Norman. The tournament, commonly known as the Shark Shootout, is played on the Greg Norman-designed 36 hole championship golf course. Norman designed this course to play like a British links course -- firm and fast without the frustrating thatch of rough that confounds even the best golfers. The absence of rough and the well maintained turf throughout both courses present golfers a variety of challenging shots, especially around the greens.
Tiburón is also the southern home to the Rick Smith Golf Academy. You can receive full golf swing or short game instruction from a team of PGA professionals, who teach the proven techniques of mentor Rick Smith.
