This enchanting A-Frame is located three miles outside South Fork city limits in the eastern San Juan Mountains. We are only 19 miles to Wolf Creek Ski Area, which receives 465 inches average annual snowfall - more than any other ski resort in Colorado.
We are located on the EAST SIDE of Wolf Creek Pass. During extreme snowfall, the West Side of the Pass (Pagosa) is much more likely to be closed to the Ski Area.
After skiing, come back and enjoy the fireplace (built with local stone), the new modern kitchen, Wireless Internet, and the large screen TV with DirectTV.
Take in magnificent views of Blanca Peak from the front deck - it's one of the highest peaks in the nation. You're also only three miles from The Rio Grande Club - a Golf Digest 4 Star course, and one mile to the boat ramp on the Rio Grande. The Rio Grande National Forest, with over a million acres of pristine mountain wilderness, is only 600 yards from your doorstep.
We are twenty five miles to the historic mining town of Creede - home of the Creede Repertory Theatre - one of USA Today's 'Top Ten Place to see theatre way off Broadway.'
South Fork is Colorado living at its best - snowy winters and perfect summer weather. Our average summer temperature is 76 degrees with little to no humidity.
PLEASE NOTE:
Wildlife is abundant in our neighborhood - please drive slowly.
Due to our mountainous environment, outdoor footing may be rocky, uneven, and/or slick.
Agate Hills A-Frame is a two-story home with stairs - it may not be suitable for older persons, people with mobility issues, or young children.
4 wheel drive is required to access the A-Frame in the winter.

The Agate AFrame is a beautiful, comfortable, and peaceful getaway retreat. From the clean and extremely functional, modern kitchen, stone faced fireplace, and cozy eating area to the winding staircase that leads up to the aspen paneled family room with large screen HD TV outlined by the most unique aspen banister and upstairs deck. The care and perfect attention to detail in this home is extraordinary and contributes to a tranquil mountain vacation. Morning coffee on the east facing deck gives way to a yummy BBQ in the evening on the west facing desk.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+.

We booked this cabin at the last minute for a Thanksgiving ski break and were delighted with its location, view, and amenities. The rental process was smooth and easy, the cabin was immaculate and even more spacious than pictured, and extremely detailed instructions were provided on how to operate anything more complicated than the fridge. The kitchen was well-stocked, including basic food items. The internet worked well and there was a good selection of movies available. While this cute little cabin was not necessarily the most luxurious VRBO/HomeAway rental we've ever had, it was very nice and well worth the price. Only one suggestion: a hot tub would have felt good at the end of a long day!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

We truly enjoyed our stay in this home. It was cozy, comfortable, and the view was breathtaking. This home is modern enough to provide all necessary amenities but still makes you feel like you're away from it all. Great Memories Made!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0
