This is one of our two large RUSTIC RETREAT cabin in the much sought after MOUNTAIN SHADOWS RESORT. This LUXURIOUS cabin has all WOODEN CATHEDRAL CEILING and all WOODEN WALLS. A perfect ESCAPE for a ROMANTIC couple or a small family. The SPACIOUS living room has a GAS STONE FIREPLACE, A POOL TABLE, a 42 inch FLAT SCREEN TV, a DVD player, a VCR and a sofa bed. Upon opening the back door to the UPPER DECK, one can get an INVITING, PEACEFUL look at the distant mountains as one grills burgers on the GAS GRILL..
A set of stairs takes one down to the master bedroom with a "KING SIZED RUSTIC LOG BED." This lower floor also has a Flat screen TV, DVD player, a VCR, a bathroom with an indoor JACUZZI as well as LOWER DECK with a HOT TUB.
A BUNK ROOM which is ideal for younger kids is also available with it own TV, DVR and VCR. This bunk room is in the master bedroom enabling these younger kids to be close and yet away from their parents.
This WARM, CENTRALLY LOCATED UPSCALE cabin is within 10 minutes access to DOWNTOWN GATLINBURG and close to the Gatlinburg Arts and Crafts Community. IF one takes the trolley route which comes by the office down the hill, one can avoid the "finding the parking hassles" of downtown Gatlinburg.
The road to the cabin is PAVED.
This LUXURY cabin has access to the RESORT'S small FREE swimming pool.
Gatlinburg has great places to go for family fun such as skiing, fishing, golfing, go Karting, zip lining, shopping, hiking, horseback riding, theaters, camping,and picnicking.

My wife and I have been living with our 5 children in KY for over 18 years. WE love Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge and Seviereville. It is a good place to go to "to get away from it all." Our goal is to go there once per month.
Why the Owner Chose Mountain Shadow Resort
It seems everyone knows of Gatlinburg, the Smokies and the the surrounding areas. There are over 600 miles of hiking trails with hundreds of miles of streams for fishing. one can whitewater raft, ice skate or go downhill skiing. One can also go shopping at the Smokey Mountain Arts and Crafts Community or at the smaller, more personal shops. The Ober Gatlinburg Ski Lodge and the Ober Gatlinburg Tramway are close by as well as the Ripley's Smokies Aquarium. Horse back riding, Black Bear Habitat and Llama riding is also available. If this is not enough, one can go to Pigeon Forge with its numerous activities for the family.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We enjoy going to Gatlinburg and just walking around. I would recommend taking the tram or shuttle whose route is close to the cabin. You can park FREE and go directly to DOWNTOWN Gatlinburg WITHOUT THE HASSLE OF PARKING. At other times we just stay as a family at the cabin and RELAX and DO NOTHING.

I would like to leave a honest, truthful review of our experience. I must say the cabin had a beautiful view and a good location, but the owners and the problems we occurred are a different story. The cabin was not cleaned for our arrival, somewhere there was a miscommunication and the maid had failed to clean the cabin. We had entered the cabin with trash still in the cans, wet towels piled in the shower, the bed used and unmade, etc. The maid did eventually come to the cabin and clean, but again that should have already been taken care of. The hot tub was also insufficiently working, the water never got above “luke warm” temperature which was slightly disappointing. It was not these small occurrences that were the problem with our stay, it was the way everything was handled. After our trip I emailed the owners and they were the least bit concerned, responding to my email with two sentences. I understand that mistakes happen, but the professionalism that a person shows when a problem arises really justifies their true feelings towards the customers.
Owner response:The guest did not mention he checked in earlier than check in time without our permission. After the guest left he wrote us an email to us saying " just wanted to mention we had a great trip in the mountains this weekend and the cabin and view were absolutely gorgeous... I was able to get in contact with Rick and we did get the situation resolved... The maid did a great job cleaning the bathrooms and she got the linens going in the washer and dryer. After she was finished we left to go down into Gatlinburg and got the linens situated when we arrived back later that evening. By no means was it a huge deal or trip ruining experience, I just wanted you to be aware of it. I must add the maid was very apologetic and willing to do anything we asked." Also for your own concern the hot tub seemed to have trouble heating up, we turned it on when we arrived but it never got “hot”, we used it Saturday night but it was still only fairly warm, so I just wanted to give you the heads up on that. Thanks again. We thanked him for taking care of our cabin and apologized for have a rocky start. He did not feel this was showing enough concern. Our mistake was assuming that "By no means was it a huge deal or trip ruining experience " did not mean it was not a big deal. Most of our customers leave very satisfied. We our sorry this one did not.

we brought our kids to tennessee to see Dollywood. we were so happy to find a cabin so close to all the entertainment and activities. we've stayed in cabins before, but not one this nice for the price. I loved the fireplace and the kid area made it easy to have some adult time in the hot tub. the pictures really don't do the cabin justice its beautiful, and the fully equipt kitchen made meals in great. thanks so much, we'll be back.

This was our first time staying in the tennessee area. We were surprised to find such a beautiful cabin for such a great price. My husband loved the large flat screen tv and the pool table. the jacuzzi tub was heaven. the cabin was so wonderful that we really didnt leave much. the fire place is so romantic and the hot tub too. we felt like teen agers again thanks we had so much fun and the lady that we spoke to was so helpful, and finding the cabin was easy...great directions. we have gave your name and number to everyone we know. we will be back

We much enjoyed our stay at Tranquil Times. This cabin has two great decks. Both offer views of Mt LeConte and other National Park peaks. The views are partially obstructed in summer but still very nice for the Arts and Crafts area (our favorite). In winter the views must be perfect. Very private hot tub on the lower deck. The cabin is very nicely furnished. Best for couple, but would work for a family with one or two small children. We love the location - a few minutes from the grocery store and close to Gatlinburg. The owners were very helpful and accessible.

I expected the same old rental company cabin. I was surprised when I spent a week in this roomy luxury cabin I found on VRBO.. The description of the cabin was on the mark. The views were unbelievable.....we actually spent more time in the cabin than shopping or eating out because of the beautiful cabin. The photos described the cabin perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed (except the food). The views from the hot tub were spectacular. My kids loved the bunk beds (which we have never seen in a cabin). The cabin was very clean and well-maintaind. Oma was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. I have strongly recommended the cabin to my neighbors whom love Pigeon Forge. WE WILL RETURN SOON TO TRANQUIL TIMES.
