We have found palekaiko (paradise)............. From the ocean views of sunrise to sunset; this property has it all!!!!!! One of our best vacations by far. We enjoyed everything this spectacular home had to offer especially the "Kitchen of the Stars". Equipped with everything you could possibly need and then some. We lacked for nothing during our stay here. From preparing breakfast with all the trimmings to BBQing while mixing frozen pina coladas. YUM........ The place is very spacious and grandour. The beds were very comfortable and the soaking tub was wonderful. When we did decide to venture out to the gorgeous little beaches all over the island; the complimentary chairs and umbrellas came in handy to escape from the hot Maui sun. This property is perfectly located to the best of everything on the island; the best pool without overcrowding, 5 Star restaurants and the #1 rated spa of the island. We had the most amazing seafood dinner at Humuhumunukunukuapua'a in the Grand Wailea and best Italian at Spagos in the Four Seasons. We also had amazing spa treatments at the Spa Grande of Grand Wailea and all of this within walking distance. Definitely get there an hour early to enjoy the Hawaiian Spa Experience featuring the Five Baths representing the Five Islands. WOW!!!!!! Mall shopping at The Shops of Wailea is just 5 minute drive or the Road to Hana starts just 20 minutes away or you can reach the harbor for the aquarium or some of best excursions are just 25 minutes away or you can walk to the beach just steps away in front of the Grand Wailea or Four Seasons Resort. This place surely stands up to its motto; LOVE LIFE...........LIVE MAUI and this place did exactly that for us. Our ten day stay flew by and that’s how you know it was a great vacation. Our family, ourselves and our son, daughter-in-law and 2 small grandchildren loved the condo. It was great a great location, great facilities, and so easy to relax and enjoy the beauty of Maui. The state of the art kitchen from the double refrigerator to all the equipment available to use was fantastic. We really appreciated the use of the beach toys, boogie boards, and chairs at the beach. Thanks for contributing to great memories for our family!

What an AMAZING vacation!

Our stay at this property will be forever known as, 'the best vacation ever'! We travelled with 6 adults and 2 teens and the amenities and activities available could not have been more perfect. We enjoyed breakfast every morning on the lanai with the doors pushed all of the way open to let the hawaiian breeze through. It was the same every evening, cooking in the beautiful gourmet kitchen and enjoying the sunsets. The condo is so close to everything and has such a nice quiet location. Over our two week stay we walked many times to the Shops at Wailea, and took a quite drive into Kihei for ice cream and beaches. The resort across the street from the Ho'Olei has such friendly staff and the beach is absolutely breathtaking. I can see why it is named one of the most beautiful US beaches! I couldn't say enough about the hospitality we enjoyed during our stay. Everything was flawless from the booking to the arrival and the departure. We would love to plan another trip to the Ho'Olei!

Great location, great unit, recommended...

The pictures do not do justice. This unit is furnished as a luxury home. The location within the Ho'olei is very favorable- right above the pool. It's far enough from the road to dampen the noise but not so far up the hill that it adds to the commute to the beach. For us, the unit w/o Grand Wailea pool access was not a big deal. The pool at the Ho'olei doesn't have slides but it's still large, has water features, and is far less populated by comparison. Even our kids preferred it because they had it nearly to themselves. The beach is also short walk. The property management company is very knowledgeable and responsive. The owner is helpful and responsive. The unit does sleep 8.

Stayed at vrbo # 288245 for 2 weeks Feb - March. This a wonderful home- from- home and comfortably accomodated 5 adults and 3 children. Dealing with the owner, Rocky, was always a pleasure and all questions, concerns were always promptly and effectively answered. The home is tastefully decorated in neutral colors and has many elegant touches. The kitchen is very well appointed and we had some wonderful seafood suppers which we ate on the huge lanai, watching the whales and the beautiful sunsets. The doors to the lanai are fully retractable and when open, create a beautiful and huge indoor/outdoor living space. 3 full bathrooms and a powder room ensured space for all !! Rocky has provided beach chairs, umbrella, and many beach toys. (We also made a contribution, leaving 2 more large beach chairs and a large umbrella ! )The whole family loved the fantastic pool on the property - waterfalls, walk in beach, hot tub, massage available right by the pool, lots of space for sun tanning or reading in the shady cover of the palm trees,. The condo is within easy walking distance of the Shops at Wailea (even for a 3 year old !!) where we went for supper and afternoon ice creams. Monkeypods restaurant was a favorite of ours (up the hill opposite the shops). Eskimo Candy for a quick lunch or take out or for fresh fish and seafood, was amazing. There are many beautiful beaches close to the condo and the outstanding Wailea beach is easy walking distance through the Grand Wailea hotel grounds. The condo complex was very quiet and immaculately maintained and personnel were very friendly. Security is very good and we felt very safe while staying there. Thanks Rocky for some more beautiful memories of Maui. We'll be back next year.

We had the best vacation we have had, since the kids came along (two boys, 3 and 5) - WITH THE KIDS in this beautiful home! Easy stroll to the pool, 1 minute drive to Wailea beach (or 15 minute walk), very well-equipped chef's kitchen for great, home-cooked meals, exceptionally gracious hosts. The home was very quiet, yet close/accessible to just about everything in Wailea (great landscaping provides for effective noise barrier against busy road nearby - we never heard traffic noises). 2 minutes drive from the Four Seasons for dinner, 3 minutes from great family-friendly restaurants like MonkeyPod and Matteo's Pizzeria. Best vacation decision we have ever taken (in comparison with family vacations in NYC, Columbia River Gorge, Seattle, Austin, and San Francisco) - honestly, it was unbelievably relaxing, and this home was instrumental in making it so. Magnificent lanai with ocean view, breathtaking sunsets- a great (huge!) outdoor space for the kids to tinker and play (we chased a little gecko around one morning), while we enjoyed our morning coffee or evening glass of wine. Elevator was a really nice perk when arriving home with bags of groceries. The house is immaculately clean and the kitchen has serious cooking appliances (sub-zero fridge, wolf gas range, and thermador ventilation) - we were in heaven, as we are serious cooks. The laundry room has a nice big washer and dryer (versus the dinky piggy-back units in most properties), which was essential with our little boys after a day at the beach. The pool is a real gem (forget the Wailea - less drama, less circus - for younger kids, honestly I would have been more nervous trying to keep tabs on them at the Grand Wailea - the Ho'Olei pool is VERY manageable from your lounge chair), with waterfall for the kids, a pebbly little wading area, and with no more than 4 foot depth (most areas around 3 feet), it was very accessible for the kids to play around. Both my husband and I enjoyed a great massage poolside and, other than the morning drives to the beach (as mentioned above, so VERY close and accessible), really we found no good reason to leave the house, as there was plenty of simple, easy, good fun just staying put. Thanks so much again for an exceptionally memorable family vacation - we are already plotting for next year, as we'd like to make this home a family vacation tradition.

Wonderful Honeymoon

The condo could not have been any better! We can never truly thank you both enough for sharing your home with us. From the minute we stepped into the condo we both felt comfortable and relaxed. It was actually hard to ever want to leave the property, but when we did we found the staff was very friendly and helpful and the entire grounds were kept in perfect condition. It would be hard to pick one special thing in the condo or the property that was my favorite. You really have a very special place! Thank you for letting us enjoy, relax and have a true vacation. This vacation really exceeded all of our expectations. The only problem we have now is how fast we can get back there.

A Unique Maui Experience

Rarely do we get together as a family for vacation anymore because my two adult children are busy with their work but this year we got lucky. So we wanted a vacation where we could slow down, spend time as a family but yet allow for individual time. This residence in Maui was a perfect choice. Unlike hotels, the place gives you a feeling of being at home where one can spend time lazying around without the constant buzz of hotel people and guests milling about. Our mornings and evenings were spent in the lanai that opens up to the ocean, where you can see the outer islands, the ocean traffic of barges and pleasure crafts and if you are lucky a whale or two. In between we spent most days at the beach and the free coupons for beach chairs and umbrellas provided came handy. We usually come home at around 2 pm for a late lunch, then some "free" time before sunset. The residence's three generous bedrooms/bathrooms allowed us to easily retreat into our private time to read a book, do email or simply take a nap. By sunset we found ourselves in the lanai, anxious to see what burst of colors Maui had to offer for that day. The great room (the area consisting of the kitchen and the living room) is partitioned by a huge sliding door that disappears into the walls providing a panoramic view of the surrounding area including the pool and of course the ocean. The kitchen is definitely abundantly equiped: Wolf range and barbeque, Sub Zero fridge, Italian cabinetry and all the tools of the trade to prepare an elegant dinner. In fact, we hosted one dinner for a couple of dear friends who live in Maui. But most evenings were spent watching funny movies rented from Blockbuster on the huge flat screen TV in the living room, munching popcorn and dozing off, just like what we do at home. We have spent many family vacations when the children were kids. While both have grown up to be adults, spending a week at this place recaptured some of those precious moments in a special setting and at a different time.

Rocky, we returned from our trip to Maui last night. I just wanted to take a minute to thank you for the use of your beautiful condo at Ho'olei. It worked wonderful for me and my wife, and my 2 sisters and their husbands. After a week in Kaanapali with our grandkids, this was a perfect retreat to beautiful Wailea for us. The pool was beautiful and the concierge desk at Ho'olei was very helpful to us. We were able to enjoy good eats, 2 rounds of golf at the Wailea golf facilities, and ocean rafting and sunset cruise trips within minutes of the condo location. Mahalo so much for the use of your beautiful home.

We just returned from 8 amazing days in your gorgeous condo! It is amazing to say the least. We also opened up the lanai doors which completely disappear into the walls and enjoyed the outdoors. To walk upstairs every morning and see that view was breathtaking. The decor is beautiful and the master bath to die for. There is plenty of room for everyone. Ho'olei pool is great especially at night with the tiki torches and landscaping. The concierge service is available as well. Our son became engaged to his fiancee on the beach at sunset. They are talking of a Maui wedding next summer and we would love to come back! Thanks so much! Definately highly recommend this property.

Rocky, thank you so much for letting us stay in your beautiful home. Absolutely gorgeous as described. Kids especially loved the pool and it was so close to the condo. Plenty of room for the 8 of us and we started off our mornings on the lanai enjoying the view while having our breakfasts. Lori at the property management group was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with, so please extend our thanks to her. When someone asked me what the best part of our vacation was, I had to say the condo! We loved sitting out on the lanai enjoying the view. The master bathroom is "to die for" and it was difficult to come home to my small master bathroom. We cooked in most of the time, but did enjoy going to Lulu's in Kihei a couple times. Our relatives were staying at another condo in the complex which was a little bigger and more expensive but we still liked 81-5 better because it was more open and inviting. We also loved that it was close to everything (but not so close you can hear traffic noise). It was truly one of the best vacations we've ever had.

Just spent the month of January 2011 at this Ho'Olei rental property. What a month, my wife and two daughters had plently of space and we settled right in as it comes with all comforts of home. The beds are comfortable, furniture is nice, garage is excellent for storage of car, sand toys and scuba gear, Lanai gets amazing views of the pool and ocean and the Ho'Olei pool is fantastic. What else can I say other then you won't be disappointed. Aloha

As a family with limited vacation time, we had visions and daydreams of a serene, island-flavored, perfect escape to Paradise...the Bowen home did not disappoint. We traveled with our toddler, as well as some friends with two pre-teen children. The set-up and location of the vacation retreat meant we could have joyous dual family moments...totally private "just we two in an island dream" moments, solitary contemplative moments. It was offset by quiet luxury combined with full functionality. This perfectly-situated property would be perfect for friends traveling together, extended families; anyone looking to luxuriate in an opulent lifestyle for a ridiculously reasonable rate. Even with some of the best shopping, beach access, and restaurants on Maui within stumbling distance, we honestly found it difficult to leave the complex. Beautiful views and luscious, scented air from the lanai and downstairs sitting area...spectacular sunsets every night. A state of the art kitchen (cook inside or out! Outdoor fridge plus a crazy double indoor fridge) stocked with cookware and flatware. You can look down over the absolutely gorgeous pool area, and be there in a walk that takes mere seconds. We are Massage Freaks...save your money and stay away from nearby pricey spas. The poolside massage therapists at the Ho'Olei are the very best to be found on the island. Maybe all the islands. Your every need is catered to in the pool area. It manages to be both romantic and family friendly: seemingly impossible. Bookend extra-large hot tubs, waterfalls, and a fantastic "baby beach" attached. We lounged and played all day. All in all, our stay at the Bowen's Ho'Olei Dream was just that--a Dream realized. Our expectations were beautifully met, even surpassed. In a very short time, we came to think of this place as our home away from home, and can't wait to return in the future.

Blissful Beauty!" Mark and I were lucky enough to stay at Ho'Oiel . A beautiful spot with a lovely view and a place that was bigger than our home on the main land! We enjoyed the easy access to the ocean and to the hotels and shopping. It was a no stress vacation! We would go again in a minute! And we highly recommend this place! Just gorgeous! One of our best vacations!
