This particular apartment is on the third floor which was not a problem for us 65+ year olds. It is as described. The building is historic ...built in the 1860's that includes other apartments but we never heard anyone else....we may have been the only ones there at the time? You will not be disappointed with the location, We walked everywhere including the Marigny area to hear some jazz without ever feeling unsafe. Also convenient to the St. Charles and Canal Street street car. Great little convenience store across the street but also a nicer upscale store (Rouse's) on Royal St. just a few blocks away. Robert met us at the house within a short time of our arrival. There is a notebook with many wonderful touring ideas. The cab company recommended for the trip back to the airport was efficient and came within 5 minutes of calling. The only downside is the toilet wobbles and needs to be fixed.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

A perfect place to stay. My husband couldn't come and I had to vacation without him. The location of the Rooftop Suite made me feel confident the entire time. Left my car with the great staff of Premier Garage near Burgundy and N. Rampart, inexpensive too. Thoroughly enjoyed discovering "my little garrett." Even bigger and quieter than described. Loved getting out early and returning early each day. Enjoyed several Grayline tours and brunch at the Court of Two Sisters. Such great waitstaff. Felt good to buy fresh seafood and cook it in my kitchen, read and look out the windows at the beautiful scene below. Thank you to the owner and property manager for all your kindnesses.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a fabulous week in New Orleans. The location of the Rooftop suite is perfect, as it is not so close to Bourbon Street and all its craziness to disturb your guests, yet it is close enough to walk anywhere in the Quarter easily. The addition of the digital locks helped immensely, as we encountered a significant delay in our arrival due to airplane problems. It was very convenient not having to worry about keys while we were there. The unit, being the top unit, is also very quiet. Some might not like the stairs but for those of us who are able, they are of no concern. If we are able to have a third visit to the Big Easy, we will stay in the Rooftop suite again. If we have an opportunity to visit France, we will check your units first. Regards, Don and Linda K. – Cranbrook, B.C. – Canada –Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We had a fabulous stay at the rooftop suite. We were a short walk to everything in the french quarter but at night were unable to hear a thing. The apartment had everything we could need. Yes it is 3 flights up but the great view is worth it.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

My husband and I stayed here for 6 days while on a conference and we were escorted in by the property manager who was prompt and very nice! He was very helpful and informative and then left us to explore. The suite is a perfect place for the two of us. My husband and I walked everywhere and were 3 blocks from Bourbon Street. You couldn't hear any noise at night and the street was very clean and quiet. Transportation was very close and easy to get to. Lots of local bars and restaurants and fabulous music was an easy distance depending on what we wanted. This suite is very charming and every night walking up to the top I imagined what it would have been like in the 1800's when this place was built! Lots of history in those walls!!! I would stay there again! Much better than a hotel!! Thank you!!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I treated myself to three days/nights to tour the French Quarter with a stay in the Rooftop Suite. Everything was as described: a comfortable apartment including the bed, bath and living areas, a simple, but well-equipped kitchen and a charming view of the rooftops in the area, especially pretty as the sunrise lit up the sky each morning. The apartment is within easy walking distance of most everything in the French Quarter. My only caution would be about the number of stairs if you have a problem climbing stairs.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We felt totally at home. The street is quiet, yet close to all that the French Quarter has to offer. We loved being able to open the windows and let the fresh air in. The bed was really comfortable. We appreciated the Cafe Du Mond coffee left for us in the fridge and the free WiFi. The only negatives were that the shower head needed to be replaced. Had to take a bath because the shower sprayed in all directions, and then ran out of hot water. Also, the unit is on the third floor, so if you are carrying heavy luggage it's kind of tough. But these were minor inconveniences when compared to the overall positive experience we had. We are looking forward to coming back and staying here again.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: All it took was to adjust the shower head and, voila, it's just fine. Just like at home...

I wanted to thank you so much for the hospitality. Robin and I had a wonderful time, and the place was perfect. If we send it once, we said it a hundred times, it reminded us of the apartment we had rented in the Marias when we were in Paris last. Please extend my gratitude to Winston as well. He was wonderful, and very helpful with everything. You have a gem in him. We would love the opportunity to rent from you again. -- Carrie B. - Washington, D.C. - USADid you find this review helpful? Shirley and I just wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had staying in the Rooftop Suite in New Orleans. The room was perfect. My wife enjoyed the light every morning when we had our coffee. Being on the third floor, we had a good view of a small part of the Quarter and could see the spire on St. Louis Cathedral. The location was good, and was within walking distance to Bourbon and Royal streets. It was also very convenient having the grocery store across the street. Winston was very helpful and informative. Having lived in New Orleans in the 1970's, it was heartening to see the Quarter in such good shape. We hope to return again soon. Thanks, again. Steve and Shirley H.
