The Sandy Family was back for their sixth year at Miracles Happen. Wonderul weather - ocean went from 59 degrees to 74 degrees with very little rain. What could I ever say that hasn't already been said? Wonderful, Fantastic, Beautiful, Marvelous! Our Miracle was that I got to see all 6 of my grandchildren together for the first time. What memories!! Wish the week could magically turn into two. Thank you Don and Janice for sharing your beautiful home. Every room I went into I was mentallly shopping and decorating w/ you. What an amazing week we had. Your home has made everything possible. Everything from the pool to the huge eating table, from the game room to the volleyball area, from the comfortable beds to a great big kitchen, from the great sun deck to the outside BBQ... it was all phenomenal! Thank you for sharing it all with us! For some of us it is our fourth time, for some of us it was our first, but we will all be back once again for sure! Although we got rained out for a couple of days, we all had a blast! Thank you for the welcome basket and brownies...so YUMMY! Thanks again! P.S. My family and I want to thank you for sharing your wonderful home to us. The house and property were beautiful!. The home was very spacious and comforting. We loved the double dishwashers and stoves and multiple toasters. The large kitchen table was great for games and putting together puzzles. When not at the beach, we enjoyed the pool!! You provided everything a family would need which helped make our stay great. We hope to be back next year!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

We had a great time as usual!!!! This is our third trip to the "miracle!" Did you dial up this weather? It was perfect! This is the fifth year that our family has enjoyed Miracles Happen! We love coming back because it feels like home. We fuss together, but have a great time and can't wait to come back! We brought a new grandson with us this year and it is such a blessing to be with our children and grandchildren at the beach. There is always alot we didn't get to do, but alot we did do.....guys went golfing, girls went shopping, kids played at the beach and the pool.Did you find this review helpful? Well it was another wonderful stay at Miracles Happen! This time we were able to share the experience with the whole family. Everyone loved the house, the pool, the pool table, the hot tub, the volleyball/badminton court and the tiki bar. About the owner: Don and Janice Easley own Miracles Happen. Janice, an Adapted Phyical Education teacher and Don, an Electrical Contractor have rented many beach houses and enjoy maintaining Miracles Happen as "a home away from home." They love the beach and have an "eye for detail" that welcomes your family to their home. After 30 plus years of renting and vacationing in the Outer Banks, Don and Janice have discovered the importance of providing guests with the ammenities and extras that bring families back to Miracles Happen year after year.
Why the Owner Chose Southern Shores:
Don and Janice have been vacationing throughout the Outer Banks for over 30 years with family and friends. The large lots and well maintained homes in the quiet neighborhoods of Southern Shores always appealed to them and a portion of every vacation was spent “dreaming” of a beach home. They decided that if that happened it would be a miracle! So that’s the story behind the name of our home MIRACLES HAPPEN. Don and Janice were married at St. Andrews By The Sea in Nags Head, NC. and bought this Southern Shores lot in 1989. A book at our home displays our lot before building, during the building of MIIRACLES HAPPEN and a few wedding photos on the beach that we love! In terms of location to the beach, we have ocean views from our upper deck and a short five minute walk to a public beach access WITH a lifeguard. When staying at our home, guests do have to cross the busy Rt. 12, however, Don and Janice took that into consideration when they bought their lot; the walking route to the beach access has a traffic light! A very important feature that provides the guests of Miracles Happen with a safe route to the beach access.

Don and Janice love the time they are able to spend at Miracles Happen. Located in a peaceful community of Southern Shores. They see Miracles Happen as a “treasure” that they enjoying sharing with friends and family. From casual walks and shelling along the sandy beaches to the more active golf, fishing, and horseback riding on the beach at sunset, Miracles Happen will provide an opportunity for a very relaxed and memorable vacation. As a guest of Miracles Happen, Don and Janice have compiled a book of their “favorites” including golf, restaurants, activities for kids and ice cream favorites to name a few. As stated by one guest in our guestbook, “Life is not measured by the breaths you take but by the moments that take your breath away.” A Miracles Happen vacation has provided those moments for many families over the years. Since 2002, many of our families have made Miracles Happen a summer family tradition.
