Knoxville house description

If you're looking for peace and quiet, try our three bedroom, two bath home out in the meadow surrounded by trees, where you can watch the birds, squirrels, and bunnies romp in the grass.

Halfway between Oak Ridge and downtown Knoxville, it is convenient for business or pleasure, close to East Tennessee attractions, like the Oak Ridge science museums, the beautiful Knoxville Zoo, and the many festivals held here to highlight this beautiful area in all seasons. We are 13 miles from UT Neyland Stadium and the Basketball Hall of Fame, and 20 miles to McGee Tyson Airport in Alcoa, which serves the Knoxville area. Thousands of people from all over the world come the second week of October to see the Museum of Appalachia Homecoming in Norris, only a 30 minute drive. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is located 40 miles south.

The home is fully equipped with everything you need to have a comfortable stay. We have three queen beds, with a rollaway bed and port-a-crib available if needed. Those with children would enjoy the Ijams Nature Park, Star of Knoxville Riverboat trip on the Tennessee River, and the Three Rivers Rambler vintage steam train 90 minute ride through the gorgeous East Tennessee countryside. If you come for the Dogwood Arts Festival in April, be prepared to have your breath taken away by Spring blooms on the marked Dogwood trails, driving through local neighborhoods.

If you just want to rest, we have peace and quiet, a full kitchen, three TVs with cable and DVDs and tapes available--and even some books. With the long, private driveway, we have parking space for pretty much anything you drive. Join us in East Tennessee, where the people are friendly and make you feel right at home.

We came to Knoxville for a friend's wedding. We're from VA & our friends from NC also stayed at the property. Clean. Fully equipped. Private. No complaints. We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful family reunion in Knoxville. Six of us stayed for a week at this home and were very pleased with the accommodations. Although it rained every day, there wasn't any moisture in the house. My wife is very allergic to mold and odors and she didn't have any problem at all. The owners have gone out of their way to make things comfortable, clean, and homey. We will stay here again if we are back in the area.

My family recently stayed at this vacation property during a college visit/family trip over Thanksgiving. The guests at the rental included my husband, myself, my 17 year-old-son and his girlfriend, and my father. The accomodations were as advertised, and we were struck by how "at home" we all felt in the place. There was a fully-equipped kitchen, including oils, spices and even some fruit to snack on. There were lots of towels, some shampoo and soap in case you forgot your own, and even laundry soap and fabric softener for the washer/dryer. The home is in a beautiful setting, where you feel like you're out in the country, yet you're within driving distance to nearby activities and attractions. We would absolutely stay here again.

We live in Texas, and our daughter was getting married in Oak Ridge. We needed a place to stay for a week to do the pre-wedding preparations, and needed more room than a hotel could offer. This place was PERFECT. From the moment we walked in, it just felt like home. Stephen and Carol go the extra mile to create a warm, comfortable home for their guests. They even went the extra mile to find something we'd left behind and send it to us. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stay here.

We needed a place to stay during the DI Globals tournament. We were traveling with an infant so a hotel wasn't a good fit for us. This place was perfect! It was so peaceful! It was rather warm when we were there but the shaded porch allowed us to enjoy the outdoors. The washer/dryer were a great bonus! It took us about 25 minutes to get to the UT campus every day. The peacefulness was worth the drive! We will definately be back!!

Our week long stay at this lovely home went by so quick. We couldn't believe the secluded privicy and bountyful nature all around us. Our 6 year old had a blast every evening trying to catch fire-flies. After looking at future home sites everyday it was so nice comming back to this retreat. The location is fantastic, Stephen and Carol go above and beyond making you feel so welcomed and comfortable. We will deffinately book this cozy home again next time we come back.

Thank you for sharing your nice unit with us. We really enjoyed it--all the extras, too--candy--fruit! Our gal graduated and we got to see her row in her last regatta here in Oak Ridge on Saturday. Plus we did a lot of sightseeing. Had a good time. Thanks again.

A wonderful place to stay and relax. Everything you could possibly think of at your fingertips. Fresh fruit and some chocolates were left for us to enjoy. We stayed during the Destination Imagination competition and it was close to university of Tennessee so we had a short jaunt each day then were able to get back and feel as if we were in the quiet country side! Highly recommend this beautiful place, only wish we had time to meet the owners and tour the farmhouse!

Owner response: Destination Imagination kids and their parents are delightful people and we welcome them to relax out here in the country.
