Welcome to Big Branch Cabins, LLC! Our "just finished" traditional mountain cabins, designed and built by a local master craftsman, are enveloped deep within the breathtaking Blue Ridge Mountains in a spectacular area famous for hundreds of waterfalls. Situated on almost 12 private wooded acres each two and three bedroom cabin boasts a peaceful accommodation for relaxing, rejuvenating, and enjoying nature. We are also bordered by thousands of acres of managed forestry land. Imagine the privacy!!!
Featured here is Tall Oaks Cabin. Surrounded by native oaks, Tall Oaks Cabin captures the essence of the Blue Ridge Mountains inside with just the right mix of unique antiques and local crafts. All of the inside decor was hand picked to provide a cozy, "back to nature" feeling coupled with beautiful hardwood maple floors and rustic pine walls.
Experience nature at its best as you awake to the sounds of birds chirping from one of the lovely, queen-size beds. Have a fresh cup of coffee as you sit at the dining table and enjoy the essence of nature right at your fingertips. Relax on the extra large, handcrafted, sofa and reflect on the day's adventures.
If you want to rejuvenate after a day of outdoor activities, the "rocking chair" covered porch is the perfect place to "put your feet up" and experience the sights and sounds of Appalachian nature. After dinner (personal grills are at each cabin) many of our guests enjoy a short hike along the Big Branch Trail on the property to the Big Branch Stream. This is also a perfect place to picnic during the day! One of our cabins is pet-friendly...please ask for details.
We feel that our cabins are so peaceful that you might want to spend your entire time here - but, if you want to venture out, there is plenty to do in the area. We are very fortunate to be in close proximity to Dupont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Gorges State Park, Nantahala National Forest, and Caesers Head State Park. You will enjoy the many hiking trails, biking paths, horseback riding areas, fishing streams, and beautiful waterfalls that each has to offer.
We recommend a visit to Looking Glass Falls in the Pisgah National Forest (one of the most scenic falls in the area) or a refreshing swim at Hooker Falls in the Dupont State Forest. We also suggest that you visit some of the nearby cultural attractions including Biltmore Estate, Flat Rock Playhouse, and the Carl Sandburg Home.
The quaint, local town of Brevard, home of the legendary Brevard Music Center, is another "must see" and hosts numerous antique stores, novelty shops, and excellent restaurants. We have also prepared a "Nearby Activities" book filled with things to do in the area and directions to many of the sites.
