What a wonderful time we had in Culebra! Everything in the house was as described; very clean, peaceful and comfortable. The 4x4 was an added bonus. The care taker of the property was very responsive, pleasant, and informative about the island and getting around town. Most days we had Zoni beach to ourselves. We also made the hike to Carlos Rosario and it was well worth it. We strongly recommend taking the snorkeling and kayak trip with Culebra Island Adventures. The guides are so nice and knowledgable, plus the scenery cannot be beat! Swimming with sea turtles was simply magical. The Owners were wonderful to work with and helpful in planning our trip. This was our 2nd trip to Puerto Rico and our 1st to Culebra. We love the Puerto Rican people, their culture and their kindness. Something that your just don't get in the Bahamas or Jamica. We are already planning another trip next year, this time with our children so we can share the magic of this beautiful, unspoiled very special island. If you have the opportunity to visit Culebra, we highly recommend renting this property for a vacation you will never forget.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Lucky us, the owner was present during part of our stay. He had information and help less available otherwise. And a nice family. But no need. The property is well maintained and cared for with improvements still underway. It is small and simple and all you really need to enjoy this beautiful island. Recommend this to others who like peace and quiet, value security and health. Not so great for night life unless you like scrabble. TV and Wifi were working too and more reliable than phones. Views are wonderful, especially the stars at night with no ambient light to spoil the view. Plenty of opportunity to do creative driving, but we have seen worse on Vieques.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+.

This is a fantastic part of the island. Quiet and peaceful and each morning as we stepped onto the balcony the view of the ocean amidst the sunrise was spectacular. A mother pig and her babies wandered the yard along with a cow and a horse on other mornings. Walking to Zoni beach was an uphill adventure worth the ten minute trip. Having he car was a must to explore the remainder of this litle island and we spent many lazy afternoons at other beaches. The house is great and has all you would need. Really clean and the washing machine was an added bonus.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed for one week as part of our honeymoon, the apartment had everything we needed as described and looks like the photos, we would definitely return. It was clean, some of the equipment (pans) could do with some care as the handles were loose and if we had a screw driver we would have fixed them! It had one of the best showers we experienced in PR - they vary a lot! Aircon worked well (if a little noisy). Best part for me was having breakfast and dinner on the balcony with the view. We didn't use the couch as a bed but I'm not sure how comfortable it would be as the springs were hard in some of the cushions. Be aware that this is one of 3 properties and there are 3 cars so you may not get the car as described on the advert, we had an old GMS with over 70,000 miles on the clock but it suited us as when you are just tripping to the beach you don't need anything more. Culebra is beautiful, Zoni beach is fabulous - make sure you take the chairs as if it is windy the sand can blow (there should be 2, we only found ours when the people below left so make sure you ask) - and the location is not far from the town once you get to know the route. We would definitely return, my husband fell in love with Culebra, I loved it for a vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

I recommend this property for anyone staying at Culebra! It has a luxury hotel feel for a fair price. The place is cozy, clean and has everything you will ever need. The A/C is a GodSend! It's really beautiful looking up the sky at night. It's also close to Zoni Beach. I recommend renting a car, trust me on this! we tried hiking to Zoni, but its probably something you want to do once : ) I guess if I could put a critsism it would be the property manager, Rogelio. He was not very "welcoming or warm." I think he can be intimidating to some. We think he is a good person, he got us what we need. But dont be surprised when you first meet him, he is a bit off. We think this is just his personality and he means well. The owner from the US Mainland was awesome and answered every question quickly. Again I highly recommend this property!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for your review. I will try to help Rogelio with his bedside manner. Years of working as a bouncer doesn't help. He is responsible and means well. His wife is sick and can't help him with all his responsibilities. What he lacks in personality he more than makes up for with his plumbing and electrical skills!

I traveled to Puerto Rico with my partner and another couple. We were delighted to arrive in Culebra after some serious travel woes, and this vacation home instantly became our island sanctuary. It is beautiful, clean, well maintained and provided comfort. Nearby Zoni Beach is impeccable and easily one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever visited (and I live in Hawaii!). We enjoyed BBQ-ing at night and star gazing and the easy, quiet vibes of Culebra. What a treasure. I highly suggest a lunch at Zaco's Taco's too! We hope to return soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Tom's properties on the quiet island of Culebra were a great find. Tom helped us out by adjusting the schedule so we could stay there, so we ended up getting to experience both the Zoni Breezes and Zoni Retreat. Both places were very comfortable for four adults. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and the patio enjoying our morning coffee and star-gazing at night. Rogelio met us at the airport with the rental vehicle (wonderful perk!) and led us to this sweet place. Zoni Beach is a very short drive and we really enjoyed snorkeling there as well as Tamarindo, Carlos Rosarios, and several beaches. We even rented ocean kayaks from the Bike Shop in town and kayaked over to Louis Pena Cay to snorkel one day. Culebra is a nature lover's paradise. Not a lot of night-life, but great for rest, relaxation and exploring. We took the airplane from Isla Grande in San Juan and it was a beautiful, quick ride over. Lovely accomodations on a sweet, beautiful little island. Yes, I would go back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Tom runs a very good operation from showing the condo online exactly how we found it - clean, comfortable, very well equipped, great views and always a breeze! We never needed the air conditioner. Renting a car from him made the trip possible for us since we got to the island very late due to a ferry not running as scheduled. It was not a problem since Rogelio Soto was right there at the ferry dock with our car to lead us to the condo. Rogelio was very kind and helpful, always available to answer our questions. Zoni Beach was our favorite beach so we liked being close by. We would rent Zoni Breezes Upper again without a doubt.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway.

The Ocean View house was as good as advertised. Easy pick up from airport, tour of town and ride to house. Vehicle provided was good for the adventurous roads and made exploring a blast. The biggest decision of the day was what beach to go to swim or snorkel. The whole island moves at a slow pace and makes you forget about the outside world. The saddest part of the trip was having to leave. Hope to make a return trip.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

If you've read the listing and think it sounds perfect for your family...then it is! The description is extremely accurate - and if you get there and something from the amenities is missing, ask the caretaker and he will get it taken care of quickly! The property is clean and well-maintained - touch up painting had been done the day before. The caretaker quietly checks in on a daily basis. Customer service - incredible! Prior to booking our trip (extended family of 7) we had some questions - emailed and within minutes received email and phone call!! This property is for people who want quiet and solitude! By renting the vehicle we were able to get in to town within 15 minutes...we love to scuba dive, snorkel, read and relax! (The outdoor shower was a great plus!) We arrived by ferry and the caretaker greeted us within 10 minutes - we followed him to the rental - and they included a laminated map in the vehicle!!! The vehicle is a must...the roads of Culebra are demanding.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My boyfriend and I just returned from Culebra Island and this Ocean View property near Zoni Beach. Our stay was fabulous -- the house was everything Tom said it was and more. Beautiful views, breezes (the house is aptly named), a friendly neighborhood dog named Nacho. The house was well appointed with all the comforts of home, as well as several deck chairs for the beach and other furniture to relax in on the front porch. One of our favorite things to do was drink that first cup of coffee on the veranda. The caretaker, Rogelio, was very helpful giving information about the island, and was only a phone call away if we needed him. He met us at the airport (would really recommend flying into the Island and enjoying the wonderful views from on high), showed us to the house, and ensured we had everything we needed for our stay. We spent the week exploring Culebra - not hard to do in Tom's 4x4. The Island has wonderful beaches and hiking trails. We recommend hiring a boat and guide (Gilligan) to take you to the local snorkeling spots. We have spent time on St. Thomas and St. John, and the snorkeling off Culebra beat both of those cold. Sea fans, Lion fish, turtles, tropical fish galore. It was really a treat. Also, don't miss Honeymooners Cove off a local island preserve -- sand the consistency of sugar and clear, clear, water. Can't say enough about this vacation -- would go back in a flash.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

My husband and I are avid travelers who prefer to stay in locations away from the hustle & bustle of the "tourist areas". This home is exactly what we were looking for and truly a hidden treasure. We caught the ferry from Fajardo to Culebra. We had other lodging arranged but it didn't work out. While we were driving around the Island heading to Zoni Beach, I found this property on the VRBO website and left a message with the owner Tom. In less than 30 min he contacted me back and arranged our check in with the on-site manager Rogelio. Tom was so professional and patient dealing with cell phone coverage issues :). Especially since this was a last minute booking. Rogelio was very hospitable , you felt like he was a friend of your family. He shared other areas of interest to check out for snorkeling adventures and made himself available if we needed anything. This 2BR/1BA home has everything you need. AC & ceiling fans in all areas. Full kitchen with appliances including a washing machine. Satellite cable/DVD player/WI-FI. The home is very inviting and located close to Zoni Beach. In our opinion, the best beach on Culebra Island. Not crowded at all. Just a few minutes drive and you are at the beach. The home has such a relaxed atmosphere, you may just cancel your plans and spend the day enjoying the quietness, as we did outside on the terrace/balcony watching the sunset, the horses graze & the stars on a clear night. We only stayed for three days and wished it could have been longer. We hope to return soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This was the first time visiting Culebra and there were no disappointments. We stayed for 5 days at Tom’s Casita with another couple. You can definitely call us City Slickers and believe it or not the somewhat secluded location didn’t intimidate us one bit. To wake up every morning with a cup of coffee and a beautiful view was a treasure in it self. This was a perfect place to stay if you’re looking for peace, tranquility and relaxation. The house was clean and homey just like the pictures showed. We also got plenty of use of the kitchen after picking up groceries in town at Milka. It was a plus the house came with coolers, chairs and boogie boards. We had great use of them every day when we hit the beaches of Flamenco or Zoni. We didn’t realize until the second day that there’s an out door shower head. That came in handy after coming back from the beach to rinse off the sand. We also rented Tom’s Suv, which is a must due to the location and especially if you want to explore the island and the fabulous beaches. We all fell in love with Culebra and can’t wait to go back and visit. We would definitely rent Tom’s Casita again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

We are a young family and this was our first visit to Culebra. This house has it all. It was brand new, clean, fully stocked and affordable. We enjoyed BBQing on the balcony with a great ocean view. The seclusion was a unique experience since we are from the city. The countrysied was virgin and beautiful, and we enjoyed just hiking the areas around th house, although the highlights were the trips to Zoni Beach, just a few minutes away. This is a nature lover's paradise! The washing machine was a great convenience and the wireless internet and Sat TV a big plus.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
