Four blocks from the house is our local Pizza place or the gourmet grocery store. Just three blocks from the guest house is the highest point in Seattle, and wonderful playground with views of downtown Seattle and Puget Sound. It's easy to drive to downtown Seattle about 15 to 20 minutes away, or take the bus and visit Chinatown, the Chihuly Glass Garden and Space Needle, visit the marinas, or take a Ferry across Puget Sound to Vashon or Bainbridge Island.
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: After looking for a year for a house with a view, we fell in love with this view of Puget Sound, the verdant islands and the snow on the mountains. We've lived in Seattle a long time and really enjoy West Seattle. It's close to downtown and the ferrys but it feels like you are in the country. There is a charming 'village' with antique shops and restaurants, farmer's market and we love to walk to the beach or the bistros. You'll know why they call this the Emerald City!
Why the Owner Chose West Seattle: We purchased this house specifically because of the panoramic views and quiet location. We also wanted guest quarters for our family and friends who visit. When we don't have friends in the guest house - we rent it out to someone looking for a wonderful place to stay in our beautiful city.
The Unique Benefits at this House: We enjoy walking to the beach at Lincoln Park and in the summer riding our bikes or walking to the outdoor salt-water swimming pool. It's easy to walk to the bus-stop to go into downtown or drive there in about 15 minutes. On Sunday's we like to go to the farmer's market and picking up fruit and maybe a croissant from Bakery Nouveau. We are close to the airport and located between Seatac airport and downtown Seattle. On rainy days, there is plenty to do in the guest house. There are lots of books, games, computer and wifi, or you can curl up and watch a movie.
