First of all~ ALL reviews are very much appreciated, and most certainly welcome from all of our guests when staying at one of our "Comfy Cabins." We do our best to ensure all of our properties are comfortable, clean inviting, and most importantly a place our guests will want to return too. That being said, Merry Cabin is one of our most heavily visited cabin's, by both new, and returning guests. Albeit, Narnia's experience is a bit exaggerated, there is some truth to some of the situations mentioned. It was not me, Jeanie, she spoke to all of those times, but Denise my business partner who did everything she could to ensure Narnia's complaints were dealt with efficiently and effectively. I did speak to this particular guest 1 time, and contacted the tub maintenance person myself as well, who was out there first thing the next morning. The hot tub WAS working. The tub was dumped prior to Narnia's arrival, as is protocol if the maintenance team deem it necessary for the benefit of our incoming guests. They did alert the guests that the tub was in heating mode due to the dump, and would be at temp by the next day. A free wine tour was offered to the guests, not a bottle of wine. They were told to let LVPS know if they wanted to use it and to just give him a call. LVPS never did hear from them. The tub not reaching temp was due to the guests continually checking the tub, and when doing so inadvertantly putting the lid down a bit too hard on the control panel, which kept putting the tub into sleep mode. Merry Cabin is a rustic and very charming cabin, which can and will get dust/bugs in it, you are in the mountains. Our cleaning subcontractors do the best job they can in ensuring us our cabins are clean, inviting, and up to our guests standards when they arrive. Comfy Cabins sends out surveys after each guest's visit, and we take that information very seriously. We heed all suggestions, criticisims and positive comments/feedback as crucial to the success of our business from all aspects, and most importantly building that return guest clientele. We are proud of that endeavor, and have been accommodating many return guests year after year. We are truly sorry that Narnia had such a bad experience at the cabin, and apologize to her for any misunderstandings, but with that being said, we do feel confident that all parties involved did our best in trying to make it better for her and are saddened that she did not feel we met that for her.

Hot tub did not work, cabin dusty

The hot tub did not work. I called Jeanie the first night because the tub was not reaching an appropriate temperature. Jeanie informed me that there was nothing she could do and that I was to call the hot tub repairman. The repairman stated that he had done maintenance earlier in the day of our arrival, November 10, even though it appeared the prior guests had left on November 7. He said that it would take at least one full day before the hot tub would reach a warm enough temperature. I called both Jeanie and the hot tub repairman the following day, November 11, as the hot tub had still not reached full temperature. Jeanie said that there we would be a credit of some sort for the first night's stay and that the hot tub man would come by with a bottle of wine to make up for the hot tub not working. However, we never received a bottle of wine and we have not received any communications of a credit. The hot tub did not reach full temperature until November 12, two days after our arrival. Another issue we had was that there was a mouse trap underneath the stairs in the cabin in an area accessible by pets and children. The cabin is advertised as being pet friendly. We had informed Jeanie prior to our arrival that our dog would be joining us and even paid the pet fee. Our dog got into this mouse trap, and ate whatever was on top of it. This was quite frightening for us as this could have been rodent poisoning that would have killed our dog. Moreover, had the mouse trap discharged, it would have injured our dog. This could also injure a child if it is left out again in the same spot. The owner did not apologize when I called frightened I would have to rush our dog to the vet. Prior guests left a pile dog feces outside near the front entry way to the deck and front door. Inside the cabin was dusty, with cobwebs and dead bugs. There were dog hairs on the stairs. There was silverware not put away but instead left drying in the dishwasher rack. Some dishes and wine glasses that had been put away were dirty and still had food particles on them. The sink still had food crumbs in it. The prior guests' used bathroom toiletries had not been removed from the bathroom. The grill and accompanying utensils had not been cleaned. I know that other people have had positive experiences, but it appears that maintenance of the cabin is quite lacking.

We stayed at Merrry Cabin 5/12/09-5/17/09. Everything concerning our rental was exceptional. If I emailed or called, I got a prompt answer. When we arrived, the cabin was clean and well stocked and very inviting. I would recommend this cabin and this area of the country for a true get-a-way experience with all ammenities within reach by car. We will return and felt welcomed and blessed by our experience in Washington state and in our Merry Cabin. Thank you!

Merry Cabin is amazing. I took my boyfriend here on a surprise Christmas vacation December 15-18th of 2008, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The pictures do not do this place justice -- the cabin is even more spacious (yet super cozy and warm -- and so private!) than it appears, with a nice sized bathroom (loved the huge claw-foot tub!) and a washer and dryer we didn't know was included but came in very handy! We happened to arrive in Leavenworth at the perfect time -- we got several inches (more than two feet, actually) of snow, and it was absolutely magical. There are so many windows all over the cabin, we could have spent our entire stay just staring at the breathtaking views. Hot tubbing under the falling snow was a new experience we loved. We made s'mores in the fire pit (plenty of wood on site!) and cooked a romantic dinner in the beautiful kitchen. Leavenworth itself is gorgeous -- if someone told me it was the North Pole, I'd have believed it. Of course, we only got to see it when we could stand to drag ourselves out of the ridiculously comfortable HUGE bed upstairs in our A-frame loft -- so romantic. We put Christmas lights all over and everything was just perfect -- I cannot find the words. Leavenworth Shuttle and Taxi was *wonderful*, so friendly and accomodating, and got us everywhere we wanted to go, even in all the snow! And we did everything we could fit into our (too short!) time frame -- we even took a beautiful sleigh ride in the snowfall through Icicle Outfitters -- free cookies, hot cider, and hot chocolate before and after, too. I truly cannot express what a wonderful time we had here. We could not have chosen a more perfect place for our romantic Christmas getaway (but with the queen sized bed that pulls out from the couch downstairs, this would be a great place for a family or friends getaway, too!). We can't wait to go back! ~ Kelly
