McKenzie River: Rest, Relax, Rejuvenate

This cedar cabin has been the family home, retreat, and gathering place for four generations over the last fifty years. It is a quick hour drive or LTD bus-ride away from Eugene and so provides easy access to town as well as all of the trail and river adventures. Spring and summers have been filled with fishing and games of horseshoes by the river, greeting family rafters as they finish up a fun two hour float from Paradise campground, bike rides on back roads or the McKenzie River Trail, hikes up Castle Rock through old growth and Rhododendron forests, scrumptious meals at the picnic table on warm evenings, and endless hours of peaceful relaxation by the river. Fall and winter seasons add the brilliant colors of vine maples and the coziness of curling up in front of the fireplace.
The house has three bedrooms with large windows:
*** River Room with Queen bed;
*** Bunk Room with a Queen and set of bunks for kids;
*** Rhododendron room with Double Bed.
The fully equipped kitchen was remodeled in 2009. The sky lighted entry doubles as warming room with wood stove and has a washer/dryer. The Great Room includes a large stone fireplace, dining table, couches and big reading chairs, a wall full of books, vaulted cedar ceilings, and a wall of windows overlooking the river. Hardwood floors warmed by area rugs fill the living areas.

This "cabin" is a beautiful, large home with everything provided. The setting is gorgeous. Good beds and reading chairs, even the patio furniture was comfortable. Easy access to many trailheads, one lovely trail just across the road. Unbelievable wildflowers. Thanks to the Core family for all the extra touches. We'll definitely be back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family just spent a week in the Core cabin on the bank of the McKenzie river. What a wonderful stay it was. The home exceeded our expectations by far and the forest setting on the river was a peaceful and tranquil place to relax, fish, and dine on the deck overlooking the river. The comfortable cabin was very well equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, like new appliances, WiFi, and everything you need, just bring the groceries. Our family agreed that our stay in the cabin was a most pleasant and memorable time that we will truly never forget. No it did not have TV and thank goodness for that. The quality time we had together and with the many things to do and see in the area we never gave TV a thought.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
