Come to charming Barnstable, a quintessential seaside town on the historic north side of Cape Cod. There are so many outdoor pleasures from beautiful beaches, fresh water ponds, salt water estuaries, bird sanctuaries to dunes & marshes nearby. This beautiful modernized Cape home has 4 bedrooms, 3 king beds & 2 twins and 3.5 bathrooms plus an outdoor shower. The entire house also offers air conditioning and there is a first floor laundry. There is a first floor master with master bath as well as a second king bed on the 1st floor. The 2nd floor has 1 king bed and two twin beds with 2nd floor shower. The kitchen has granite counter tops and big pots to boil corn & lobsters. The kitchen opens to the large bright family room with vaulted ceilings, comfy couches and there is an adjacent deck perfect for relaxing and grilling overlooking a 1 acre wooded private lot. This house has many nooks, where you can have a quiet conversation, or read a book. There is a beautiful living room with hardwood floors and a wonderful sunny 3 season room with an electric fire place where you feel close to nature. The house comes with a landlord beach pass which allows you access to over 14 beaches in 7 unique villages, all different, all stunning.
You can spend the day in the sun at the bay or Hathaway Pond approximately 1 mile from the house, or venture 6 miles to Nantucket Sound. You can wander 6A known as the King Highway, voted one of the 10 most beautiful roads in America. Shopping abounds, art galleries, antique & gift shops line the sinuous RT 6A. There are many fine restaurants nearby, you can dine 1.5 miles from the house harbor side at the Matakeese Wharf or you can star gaze from the Barnstable Tavern’s outside patio. You have it all from haute cuisine to clam shacks.
There are a plethora of recreational opportunities. Whale watching boats & deep sea fishing charters are a mere mile away. You can observe dolphins, Right and Mink he whales and enjoy the sociable Humpback whales who are best known for their acrobatic behaviors including jumping, lobtailing & flipper slapping. There are boating excursions to tempt every taste. Take the Hi Line Cruise to Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket, enjoy a sunset sail or rent a kayak just down the road and paddle through the marsh or take a shore line cruise out of Hyannis. There are golf, walking & biking trails and railroad excursions all nearby. There is wonderful summer theatre nearby at the Dennis playhouse along with movie theatres in nearby Hyannis. The Melody Tent in Hyannis offers a variety of concerts throughout the summer. Feel free to explore the Cape on the biking trail, venture to Provincetown, or just relax at the beach all day and return to your comfortable vacation home for a barbeque on the deck.

The photos of the house accurately reflected the appearance of the house. It is beautiful, extremely clean, updated, and very comfortable . It was like being in your own home not like being in a rental. We stayed for two weeks with our children and grandchildren. The area is very safe, no noise, and a large backyard for playing games and relaxing. The outdoor shower was the highlight for everyone. Never used the indoor ones. Our only comment regarding the home is that there were lots of tasteful decorating items that we had to put away in order to not worry about them being broken by the grandchildren. I took pictures of where they belonged and returned them to their rightful place when leaving. The owner is very accommodating and easy to work with. His emails were always answered in a timely manner. It is obvious that the family takes great care of their" home away from home". We will be back. I hesitated writing this review because I didn't want anyone else to grab our fab find on the Cape.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

Why the Owner Chose Barnstable:
As a child my family vacationed on Cape Cod every year, we stayed in a small cottage called the Mushroom. I learned to swim in the calm waters of the bay and my father’s love of history made the landing of the Pilgrims come to life. My mother was an artist and it was her love of the ethereal light on the Cape that inspired many of the painting in our home. To this day the smell of honey suckle and fresh cut hedges bring me back to my barefoot youth. So it has been a lifelong dream to make the Cape our home. My husband & I love the boundless beauty of Cape Cod. This is a rental house, but to us it is our home and we want to make sure it is comfortable & beautiful for our guests, we are constantly upgrading it and it is filled with our hearts & soul.
