The design of this house was two fold: to capture the incredible views surrounding it and to ensure quiet and privacy for its guests.

The great room has windows on three sides making it a light-filled sun room. The magnificent view of the mountain range is from 20-foot windows. The view next to the dining room windows is of an aspen grove and the kitchen view is of tall pines. The variety of the views makes it unique. All rooms have spectacular views. The two decks off the great room can be enjoyed even on a sunny winter day. The nordic ski track into Mt. Village core is just below the house on the golf course.

For privacy, the house has three wings: the great room, the master and the caretakers wing. By placing a bedroom in each wing it ensures peace and quiet for all the guests. The sound does not travel from one bedroom to the other. It is possible to use the TVs and DVDs in each bedroom without fear of disturbing the other guests. In addition to the three king size bedrooms which have their own bathrooms, there is a library with a queen-sized murphy bed and a childrens bunk area on the lower level. The library is opposite the powder room on the Master wing. The two guest rooms have king sized mattresses that can be seperated into twin beds. Top-quality construction materials and furnishings were used throughout. The house has in-floor radiant heat on bamboo and stone floors. The two car garage is heated and has ski racks and closets for ski clothes and boots.

There is no need for a car as a private shuttle service will take you anywhere in Mountain Village or to the gondula for skiing or to the town of Telluride for shopping and entertainment. This is a nice feature for large groups who have different schedules.

Spectacular private mountain elegance in Mountain Village, Telluride!

VRBO Bear stayed here - 10/12/2010 If you haven’t been to Telluride, you must go and this home is the place to stay!! We were welcomed warmly as we drove up to this gorgeous house, with lights on for our arrival and heated floors as we entered the home. We awoke the next morning to breathtaking views—truly one of the most beautiful views imaginable from the great room, master bedroom, decks and hot tub! The views from this home office made this working vacation more than ‘bearable!’ Golden Aspens at their peak, snow capped mountain range, and golf course—even more spectacular than described in this listing.

This private, quiet home was a real retreat to relax and get away from it all. With just a short drive, we were able to enjoy the restaurants and shops of Mountain Village. A fifteen minute gondola ride down the mountain to the Town of Telluride was a real treat. You’ll love this renowned Colorado mountain town with it’s fine restaurants, galleries, coffee shops and friendly people. A simple hello turned into a wonderful conversation with more than one local.

Decorated in casual mountain elegance, this home had everything to spoil us: private master suite with a very comfortable master bed, steam shower, gourmet kitchen, double-sided fireplace for an evening of reading by the fire or socializing with family and friends. While our fall stay seemed perfect, each season offers its own beauty and fun activities. The owner was great to work with and the caretaker available at just a phone call away. Book now for an unforgettable family gathering or vacation with friends.

Group Ski trip from February 2011

Guest: Dan (Seattle)
Date of Stay: 02/23/11 Review Submitted: 02/28/11

I rented this house in February of 2011 for a ski vacation with a group that goes skiing to a different resort every year, and rents a big house every year. And I can say from experience, this is a great house, with a great location. The view from the living room and hot tub are fantastic. The house is very flexible in terms of bedding too, which was very valuable to our group. There are king beds that can either stay as very comfortable kings, or be separated into two twins, depending on your sleeping arrangements. There is a great kitchen, which is very large and has all you need to cook a large dinner if you need to, including a barbeque outside. The finishes are great throughout too, with stone counter tops, heated stone floors in the bathrooms, and wood floors with nice big area rugs in most of the rest of the house. Getting into town or to the slopes is easy, as you simply call the free Mountain Village car service, which will take you directly to the slopes or the Gondola, which takes you right to town. The house even provides slippers and bath robes that you can wear out to the hot tub on the deck, in case of snow. The house is also very quiet, being off of the main street of mountain village, and with the neerest neighbors a good distance away. I highly recommend this house for any large group or family looking for a good ski vacation or mountain getaway. Dan

Couples Ski Trip

Guest: PK (Atlanta, Georgia)
Date of Stay: 02/03/11 Review Submitted: 02/17/11

We organize a couples ski trip every year and this house was by far the best we have ever rented. You truly feel like a guest of the owner and the house is completely equipped with top shelf linens, kitchen equipment, stereo system, wifi etc. Three private master suites make an ideal house for couples and the pictures do not do it justice. The views from the great room and decks are spectacular. The owner was very responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The owner provided a detailed operations manual and we never had a reason to contact the local caretaker. Everything in the house is first class and in good working order. Cosmopolitan in town was our favorite restaurant. Also the restaurant at the Inn at Lost Creek at the base for a very relaxing ski lunch.

Owner response:As we are travelers who rent homes, we try to think of what what we want in a rental and make sure that we provide that in our home. We always like to know that help is a phone call away in case we have a problem or need information and at our home you have two attentive people to call: the owner and the caretaker. We also know that the little things are sometimes as important as the big things. After taking the time to cook a great meal it's nice to pull out a drawer and find stylish placemats, napkins and candles to set the table. We enjoy our "guests". Lana

Family Holiday Vacation

Guest: Mary Lee (New York, New York)
Date of Stay: 01/02/11 Review Submitted: 01/09/11

This home was wonderful for our family that included 5 adults and a baby. The three main bedrooms are far apart to allow great privacy. The fantastic views from so many places in the home made us just love sitting around and gazing outdoors. The photos on the website are great, but the home is much more than what it displays on the website. The owner and the rental manager were great to work with, very helpful with some issues that we ran into due to some untidy guests before us. The hot tub had some problems and some kitchen items needed maintainence, but the rental manager and homeowner worked to make things right for us. We took great walks, enjoyed visiting the shops and skiing was great. We didn't take in many of the restaurants because the kitchen and open concept dining area and living room was where we congregated for most of the day eating our meals and just enjoying our new baby in the family. We hope to return in the future as it holds great memories for us.

Mrs. Pepper, I don’t think there would be any way to improve on such an incredible house. As a builder, I couldn’t find anything lacking. I just hope I can talk my buddies into making this an annual affair. As a stranger to Telluride, I was blown away by the beauty of both the surrounding homes as well as the awesome vistas. Thank you again for your hospitality and your generosity. Tell your son that as a homebuilder with more than 34 years of experience, I don’t think I could match his accomplishments as evidenced in this magnificent home. EA
