The design of this house was two fold: to capture the incredible views surrounding it and to ensure quiet and privacy for its guests.
The great room has windows on three sides making it a light-filled sun room. The magnificent view of the mountain range is from 20-foot windows. The view next to the dining room windows is of an aspen grove and the kitchen view is of tall pines. The variety of the views makes it unique. All rooms have spectacular views. The two decks off the great room can be enjoyed even on a sunny winter day. The nordic ski track into Mt. Village core is just below the house on the golf course.
For privacy, the house has three wings: the great room, the master and the caretakers wing. By placing a bedroom in each wing it ensures pease and quiet for all the guests. The sound does not travel from one bedroom to the other. It is possible to use the TVs and DVDs in each bedroom without fear of disturbing the other guests. In addition to the three kingsize bedrooms which have their own bathrooms, there is a library with a queen-sized murphy bed and a childrens bunk area on the lower level. The library is oposite the powder room on the Master wing. The two guest rooms have king sized mattresses that can be seperated into twin beds. Top-quality construction materials and furnishings were used throughout. The house has in-floor radiant heat on bamboo and stone floors. The two car garage is heated and has ski racks and closets for ski clothes and boots.
There is no need for a car as a private shuttle service will take you anywhere in Mountain Village or to the gondula for skiing or to the town of Telluride for shopping and entertainment. This is a nice feature for large groups who have different schedules.

The Unique Benefits at this House
We love the location of the house because it is close to the Village Core and skiing and it is close to the highway to go to town. We have golf course in front of us that will never be built on and around our house are aspen groves and in front is a pond that attracts wildlife. We have the best of two worlds, that of privacy and wildlife and then also close proximity to Mountain Village and the town of Telluride. And then there are the views. . . . .

Our son, a builder, built our home for us so not only is it of great quality it is very personal to us. We originally planned to live in Telluride for six months out of the year but that plan is not going to happen. We love to have people in the house when we are not there. We get calls from guests who tell us how much fun they are having or what wildlife is outside the window and we can enjoy the house through them. Having laughter in a house is much better than a silent house. We call it a "happy house" because of all the sunshine and the friendly scale of the great room.
