Great place! Very clean and squared away. Everything tasteful, and in good working order. I loved the 3 levels + the putting green. The place is right on a cool corner with absolutely nothing going on around it. fairly open views on back and one side. Close to Country Club and Golf Course and an easy stroll into the action in town (about 4 blocks). We had a couples massage at the Catalina Canyon resort by operated by "Helen". AA++ in every way. Facial was xlnt as well. The electric bikes were the best though. We rented them from the day from the first place you hit from the boat. They were the cat's meow! Pedal them, pedal assist and wail up the hills, or all battery power and cruise at 15mph....flying! All the roads they told us to stay off were the ones to go on. They did give us &*^*(^*% about wearing their provided helmet, but they say they are recommended only...so I told them to pound sand. Crybabies! They were the single most fun thing about the trip though. Food was over the top beginning with Lattes at CC Galegher's in a bowl. I'd recommend and come back to this place in a hearbeat. my family of 3 did great here! best for me as "mom" and chief planner and one with most joie d vivre....we were all under one roof...no need for a car...no vacuuming or laundry for 3 days. my son and hubby love tv and they each could have one, as well as time alone to watch their fave shows. I had time to work/play in lovely kitchen...and there is wi-fi, so I could keep up on my emails and such. the dishes/pots and pans were very usable/stylish. I would recommend bringing your own chopping knife if you plan to cook/prep own food as I did. previoius guest left swim rings and those, combined with buying "old-fashioned" swim cap at Leo's pharmacy made for a really fun aternoon at the main beach with my 9year old. the other highlight was waiting for boat back yesterday...just hanging out on pier watching boys fish. my son befriended a local boy who "knew the ropes". I love the confidence of little boys...and mostly they are spot on! We bought tour package with the chamber of commerce discovery tours- took bus tour of Avalon, son/hubby took inland bus tour while I got behind the scenes of casino, and we had movie night. underwater sub cancelled due to murky water, but oh well. we also did mini-golf. It was truly a clean family fun vakay! the "noise" of golf carts buzzing by was disturbing at first...but I got used to them and now that I'm home with potential freeway noise/ sirens and such....what was I thinking. Plus with overhead fan on and windows closed it muted anyway. I do recommend you be physically fit for this property. the stairs are a good workout to get to top master bedroom. Now it's not really a workout, but for those of us on single level, it's more exercise than we are used to normally, just going from front door to bedroom :) The condo is very nicely furnished and very comfortable. the little 4 hole putting green by front door nice too. Just take your friendliness and share it, cause it's a good, small town, cozy feel.

A lovely place on Catalina - just as described! It's an easy walk to the ferry and shops, and right next to the road to Mt Ada for an early morning run, or to the Memorial Gardens for an easier walk. Our family of four was very happy with all accommodations - a well built condo, comfy beds, clean and modern bathrooms, welcoming decor, and immaculate new appliances in the kitchen. The heat worked beautifully, and the fireplace, which on a cold and rainy weekend, made for a cozy stay. The owner phoned the first day to check on our needs - all in all, a pleasure to rent this place!

We had a wonderful time in this place. My son had a "mancave" on the lower floor where he hooked up his PS3 to the DVD player and played games and watched movies a lot -- probably too much! The place is spacious for 3 people and there was a real sense of privacy. The three bathrooms were a plus. The master suite is great -- esp the jacuzzi tub. The kitchen has all the amenities needed, although smaller, saucer-size plates and ice cube trays would be nice additions. We had one great night playing Scatagories which came with the place. Also it's a fairly quiet location, which is nice. My only hesitation in rating this excellent is because there is no comfortable place for a family to watch a movie together. The second floor living room has a roomy couch and chair and the largest flatscreen TV, but doesn't have a DVD player or any way to hook up a portable DVD player. This was a drawback because the seating in the first floor gameroom is hard and uncomfortable. After one movie, we never watch anything together again the whole time we were there. One last side note, the owner very graciously and generously refunded some money because the sofa bed frame was broken and we were inconvenienced. I would definitely recommend this place!

We love, love, love this house. There's nothing not to love! We took our 2 kids and felt total privacy upstairs while they slept on the 2nd floor couch/bed. Everything about the house is top notch - beautiful furnishings, flat panel TV's on every floor, jacuzzi tub, perfect kitchen, 3 baths...we will stay again! The house is a very short walk to everything even with kids.

My kids loved the den/game room and they had tons of fun hanging out there. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the convenience of being close to town. We cooked alot of meals and the kitchen was fabulous for all our cooking needs. We will definitely be renting this property again very soon. It's comfortable with plenty of room. We have rented another property from this owner before and as always Mr Grisham is professional and gives full attention to making his renters comfortable and happy. This particular unit felt like a 'castle' to our family. We've rented 1 bedroom units before and they can be a challenge for a family of 4. My boys enjoyed sleeping on the middle floor and having their own space away from the parents. We utilized the bottom floor to play board games and cards. I have been coming to the island for over 35 years and have stayed in some homes that are unkept and pure rentals. This unit is upscale and lovely to stay at. It feels like someone's home. It is beautiful and clean and has all the amentities a family could need. My favorite thing about the 'castle' is the fact that it feels SO spacious having three floors. It gives parents and kids their own space when needed and yet there is plenty of space to entertain together. Thank you for the privilege of renting your property! Nicole La Mirada, CA
