Karen,
Just a quick note to say we had a great time. The cottage is very nice, you have it furnished beautifully, it's well maintained and clean. I will tell my friends about it and I'll come back again.
The weather was great so we enjoyed the pool & beach.
Thanks again

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Mid Island
I think the weather was the deciding factor. We are from the Midwest and here in Minnesota, summer is too short. The flowers and the palm trees are so therapeutic that we couldn't resist. We also like the mid-island location as we can access the South end bridge or the North end bridge so it is very convenient.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We have all the comforts of home. We like to think that we have covered all the details and we know our guests appreciate the amenities that we have to make their vacation special.
Karen,
I stayed at your Beach Bungalow at beautiful Ft. Myers Beach the first
week of March. I'm an amateur photographer and took about 400 photos
while I was there, one of which I submitted to the Star Tribune website
for their gallery of vacation photos. Well, they printed it in the Travel
Section of yesterday's paper (Sunday May 17th). It made me very happy to
be able to share my vacation memories with the paper's readers. Here's a
copy for your enjoyment. Feel free to use it anyway you wish to market
your wonderful beach house.

Owner's Map of Private Homes, Mid Island
We bought this house for retirement as it is small, cute, and cozy. It is about 900 sq. ft. and has everything we need including a dock and the canal so we have easy access to fishing. We are now at retirement age and still feel the same way after many visits to the island. Our cottage is all on the ground level, we have 7-11 at the end of the street, our own beach access and plenty of privacy in our lanai if we just want to lounge by the pool.

Our October 2011 stay at Royal Palms Getaway could not have been better. It has all of the comforts of home. Actually, it one upped us, it has a TV in the bedroom. It was very clean and organized. The pool was a must after sunning at the beach. In the hotter weather, make sure you let the hose in the back run before you rinse off. The water temperature could be very hot. We liked sitting on the dock on the bay, where we watched the wildlife and enjoyed the cool breeze. Highly recommend it. Having a washer and dryer is a great convenience. Thanks Don and Karen you are on the top of our list.

Upon arrival my husband and I weren't sure what to really expect. We walked in with our children and were in aw. It was so perfect for our family. It was clean and had EVERYTHING we needed for the week. Everything was labeled so we knew where everything was. We were so blessed by the laundry room to as it was nice to come home from vacation and not have to do laundry!! It was nice to see the beach chairs and even sand toys for the kids!! The beach is just a very short walk from the house (perfect part of the beach)!! Every time I talked to Karen she was very nice and helpful, my husband and I would definitely recommend this to our friends and family!! We ate at Charley's Boat House while we were there. A little pricey but the food was awesome and so was the service!! Also I would recommend finding The Love Boat, best ice cream we have every had (it's not by the beach). Looking forward to returning some day!!!
Owner response:I am glad that we could make your beach experience a memorable one. Hope to see you again soon. Karen

Our week in your place was wonderful. We got to visit with family and friends while there. Even when the start of the cold snap came we were comfortable on the lanai in shorts or bathing suits. The all tile makes it perfect for a small pet and us messy adults! From reading your comment book it is obvious that you pay attention to comments and act on them. We thought what was on your website was representative of the property although the pool looks a little larger and was a little cool but consider the dates we were there--the week after Thanksgiving! Overall we were very impressed and hope to visit again in the future and would certainly recommend if to anyone going to that area. We thought for a family with small children or a pet it was much preferable to a condo. Also being on the canal was cool but this time we opted to leave our Whaler behind and rented a pontoon boat. Lots of fun. The people across Estero at the Outrigger are particularly amenable to you using their deck and tiki bar or using their property as beach access in the off season. Steve and Gae

Good Place Guest: Steve and Gale (Charleston SC) Date of Stay: November 28, 2010 Review Submitted: December 11, 2010 We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Royal Palms Getaway. It was very clean and well appointed. We were impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into preparing the house for renters. Light switches all labeled, bicycles with a map in the basket, charcoal grill, even a bag of ice in the freezer. The proximity to Publix was definitely a plus. We liked the restaurant at the Outrigger, very close, and the Bistro behind Publix. We will come back here! Steve and Gale, Charleston SC

A great find! Highly recommend Guest: TwilightMom (Minnesota) Date of Stay: May 27, 2010 Review Submitted: June 3, 2010 We loved this place. It's exactly as portrayed. We have two small children and it was perfect for the 4 of us. Everything was labeled. The air condition worked perfect. The pool in back was clean and nice. The house was very comfortable. Everything is on the strip if you're looking to just stay on Fort Myers Beach. There's a Publix grocery store near by and we stocked up on grocery. There's a movie theatre at the end of the street. The beach is near by and it's easy to get to. Parking is about $2.00 per every 2 hours (coins/meters). I would definitely stay here again next time I go to Ft. Myers Beach. We also went to Sanibel Island which was very nice. There was also laundry facilities, and a tv and dvd, which was great for the kids to watch a movie at night. there were pots/pans/utensils.

Great reunion get-away! Guest: Nurse Jan (Minneapolis, MN ) Date of Stay: March 1, 2010 Review Submitted: March 26, 2010 My friends (3) and I enjoyed our stay immensely. We did have a car which was good since the weather was rather chilly. Although we did not spend time at the beach, we did enjoy the poolside for lounging. The extra space was great for the four of us to spend individual time with one another. We ate our meals out, but glad to have the kitchen for snacks. Walking to Charley's, the Munch Box and church was great. We enjoyed the private stay...avoiding lobbies, elevators, noise, etc. Our plans are to return next season again. Thank you to the owners for providing such a special home-away-from-home atmosphere. Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls getaway, Families with teenagers, People with disabilities, Romantic getaway
