The house looks very old from outside, but inside you have all the comforts of home including best tv channels with free movies. in the morning you wake up to birds cheeping, and seeing through the day many different types of birds at the back near the canal. at high tide i could launch my kayak. Everything is labelled so you know what every switch etc is for. The house was clean, just had to clean round areas like fridge and cooker handles as they were grubby. The house is on bay side three and a half miles from times square and all the bars and restaurants, it is only a three minute walk to the beach, but as you are further down, the sea is a little further. we enjoyed our week here, the splash pool being solar heated was very comfortable. Only complain we had, we had a strong smell of fat, also through the air conditioner in living area.
Owner response:Michael, Thank you for staying with us. It was wonderful meeting you and Jane. The house is not new but is cozy, quiet, clean and we love our extended family of visitors that also enjoy our little piece of paradise. Don&Karen

Great Vacation, Great House Michael Windle Burlington, Wisconsin Review Submitted March 19, 2012 Date of Stay March 9, 2012 This was our first time staying on Ft. Myers Beach and we couldn't have made a better choice than to stay at this fantastic house. It truly was like having a home away from home. We were able to enjoy Time Square for as long as we wanted and then go "home" to peace and quiet. The atmosphere was very relaxing. Because the location of the house is at the south end of the island, we were able to avoid the congestion at the north end when we wanted to leave or return to the island. Having a washer and dryer was a bonus for us. We would defintely stay here again. Rating: 5 out of 5 Respond to Review

What a great oasis! Elizabeth Todd Columbus, OH Review Submitted February 13, 2012 Date of Stay January 27, 2012 We loved staying at Royal Palms. The owners have made sure that everything you need for a wonderful vacation is provided! Beach chairs, floats, beach towels, you name it. The house was sparkling clean, as was the pool. We had never been to Ft. Myers Beach before, and we were so very glad that Royal Palms was at the quiet, tranquil side of the island. While we enjoyed lounging at the pool and fishing in the canal, the beach across the street was wide and beautiful. Sunsets were breathtaking. Be sure to walk over to the Windjammer and enjoy a beverage or two while the sun sets. This house would be great for a family with small children, as the pool is just the right size for small kids, but plenty big enough to float around in! We cannot recommend Royal Palms enough - it was our personal oasis for a week and we loved it. The owners are so helpful and so nice. You cannot go wrong with this house. Two restaurants we can recommend are Doc Ford's and The Fish House. We also rented a boat from Snook Bight and they were helpful and friendly and have great boats for rent. If you want a quiet, relaxing get away, do not hesitate to stay at Royal Palms. Rating: 5 out of 5 Respond to Review

FMB October Getaway Michael Barcal Lombard, Illinois Review Submitted October 16, 2011 Date of Stay October 5, 2011 Our October 2011 stay at Royal Palms Getaway could not have been better. It has all of the comforts of home. Actually, it one upped us, it has a TV in the bedroom. It was very clean and organized. The pool was a must after sunning at the beach. In the hotter weather, make sure you let the hose in the back run before you rinse off. The water temperature could be very hot. We liked sitting on the dock on the bay, where we watched the wildlife and enjoyed the cool breeze. Highly recommend it. Having a washer and dryer is a great convenience. Thanks Don and Karen you are on the top of our list. Rating: 5 out of 5 Respond to Review

Shanda C.Lima, Ohio Review Submitted: July 11, 2011Date of Stay: July 2011 Upon arrival my husband and I weren't sure what to really expect. We walked in with our children and were in aw. It was so perfect for our family. It was clean and had EVERYTHING we needed for the week. Everything was labeled so we knew where everything was. We were so blessed by the laundry room to as it was nice to come home from vacation and not have to do laundry!! It was nice to see the beach chairs and even sand toys for the kids!! The beach is just a very short walk from the house (perfect part of the beach)!! Every time I talked to Karen she was very nice and helpful, my husband and I would definitely recommend this to our friends and family!! We ate at Charley's Boat House while we were there. A little pricey but the food was awesome and so was the service!! Also I would recommend finding The Love Boat, best ice cream we have every had (it's not by the beach). Looking forward to returning some day!!!

Our week in your place was wonderful. We got to visit with family and friends while there. Even when the start of the cold snap came we were comfortable on the lanai in shorts or bathing suits. The all tile makes it perfect for a small pet and us messy adults! From reading your comment book it is obvious that you pay attention to comments and act on them. We thought what was on your website was representative of the property although the pool looks a little larger and was a little cool but consider the dates we were there--the week after Thanksgiving! Overall we were very impressed and hope to visit again in the future and would certainly recommend if to anyone going to that area. We thought for a family with small children or a pet it was much preferable to a condo. Also being on the canal was cool but this time we opted to leave our Whaler behind and rented a pontoon boat. Lots of fun. The people across Estero at the Outrigger are particularly amenable to you using their deck and tiki bar or using their property as beach access in the off season. Steve and Gae

Good Place Guest: Steve and Gale (Charleston SC) Date of Stay: November 28, 2010 Review Submitted: December 11, 2010 We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at Royal Palms Getaway. It was very clean and well appointed. We were impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into preparing the house for renters. Light switches all labeled, bicycles with a map in the basket, charcoal grill, even a bag of ice in the freezer. The proximity to Publix was definitely a plus. We liked the restaurant at the Outrigger, very close, and the Bistro behind Publix. We will come back here! Steve and Gale, Charleston SC

A great find! Highly recommend Guest: TwilightMom (Minnesota) Date of Stay: May 27, 2010 Review Submitted: June 3, 2010 We loved this place. It's exactly as portrayed. We have two small children and it was perfect for the 4 of us. Everything was labeled. The air condition worked perfect. The pool in back was clean and nice. The house was very comfortable. Everything is on the strip if you're looking to just stay on Fort Myers Beach. There's a Publix grocery store near by and we stocked up on grocery. There's a movie theatre at the end of the street. The beach is near by and it's easy to get to. Parking is about $2.00 per every 2 hours (coins/meters). I would definitely stay here again next time I go to Ft. Myers Beach. We also went to Sanibel Island which was very nice. There was also laundry facilities, and a tv and dvd, which was great for the kids to watch a movie at night. there were pots/pans/utensils.

Great reunion get-away! Guest: Nurse Jan (Minneapolis, MN ) Date of Stay: March 1, 2010 Review Submitted: March 26, 2010 My friends (3) and I enjoyed our stay immensely. We did have a car which was good since the weather was rather chilly. Although we did not spend time at the beach, we did enjoy the poolside for lounging. The extra space was great for the four of us to spend individual time with one another. We ate our meals out, but glad to have the kitchen for snacks. Walking to Charley's, the Munch Box and church was great. We enjoyed the private stay...avoiding lobbies, elevators, noise, etc. Our plans are to return next season again. Thank you to the owners for providing such a special home-away-from-home atmosphere. Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls getaway, Families with teenagers, People with disabilities, Romantic getaway
