I rented this property for a surprise 40th birthday weekend for my fiance. For years, we would go up to my father's cabin, and we both really loved that "rustic cabin" feeling it gave us whenever we were there. However, much to our dismay, he sold the cabin last year. So, on this occassion, I wanted to find a place that had enough of the conveniences of modern-day life (so that we could spend our time focusing on each other instead of handwashing dishes, etc.) without sacrificing that authentic cabin feeling. This property fit the bill perfectly. The first thing that hit us when we walked in was the rich scent of leather furniture infused with the smell of a wood-burning fireplace that had been well-used. That scent combination worked to instantly instill a sense of calm, comfortable familiarity in us because it was identical to the one that greeted us every time we arrived at my father's cabin in the past. The second thing that struck us was the breathtaking beauty of the interior - the clearcoated pine that was used for all of the walls and the vaulted ceilings reflects the light in a way that makes every room feel warm and inviting without being either too bright or too dim. Every detail of the property reinforces a sense that a significant amount of time and effort was spent on ensuring that the experience feels rustic, while minimizing inconvenience. Nothing on the property felt "cheap", from the carpeting in the loft and master bedroom to the brush provided with the gas grill. I would have expected the relatively new, high-quality, stainless steel appliances to conflict with the feeling of authenticity, but the layout of the cabin is such that they blend nicely into the background. Just about everything that we needed was provided and intuitively placed, whether it was a kitchen utensil or extra towels in the bathrooms. We could not have been more impressed with the property or with the property owner, who responded immediately to every question I had about some very minor details. I will definitely recommend this property to my family and friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

One of the best VRBO experiences ever. Dush was extremely quick with responses and all arrangements were timely and clear. The house was clean, comfortable, and perfectly set up for visitors. Just pack up your car and head up there - nothing could be easier. There is literally nothing I would change about the house.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.

This cottage was perfect for our family get away. We had plenty of space for our four teenage children and their grandfather. The kitchen was spacious and well equipped for the meals we prepared "at home", the bedrooms were ample and very comfortable and the two bathrooms were plenty, even with three daughters. The loft was cozy and was definitely the kids favorite space, when they weren't in the hot tub. The cottage is well located. It's three minutes from "downtown" Saugatuck and less than 15 minutes from downtown Holland. We also enjoyed our visit to Fennville, which is 10 minutes away. The owner is very service oriented and went out of his way to make sure were comfortable before and during our stay. We had a terrific stay and have no complaints.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Pine Tree cabin this year for our annual girls weekend. There were 7 of us and the place was very spacious with up to 10 beds so we could spread out. The cabin was very clean and looked just like the pictures. Pool was nice and was just a short walk away. Someone was on sight each day to check on the pool and turned up the temp for us. Everyone we ran into in the complex was very friendly. MDOT parking was less than a mile away, so the 2 car limit wasn't a big deal.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and my sister's family rented the cabin for 3 nights over Labor Day weekend. The cabin is gorgeous inside and out. I enjoyed admiring the workmanship of the wood paneling throughout the cabin. The kids loved the room with the bunk beds and the sitting area with the TV and the DVD player where they watched a couple movies during our downtime. The screened in back porch is great for relaxing. The pool is only steps from the cabin, and the drive to downtown Saugatuck is quick and easy. Dush was quick to respond to all of my emails and questions, and contacted me less than 24 hours after we left the cabin to ask if we enjoyed our stay. Would definitely rent again. Think it would be a cozy place to rent during the fall or winter months as well.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from our stay and had a wonderful time. The listing and photos were very accurate of the property. Dush was very helpful throughout the process. We enjoyed Oval Beach and the Star Cruise, hot tub, and the pool and the Sand Dune State Park. There was 8 of us and when we openend the door WE all Said OMG...breathtaking, clean, and smelled wonderful, of fresh cut wood...rooms were great and clean..., when they say that they provide everything, they mean EVERYTHING!!! The only thing you have to bring is sampoo, toothpaste,Arrid, they give you linen and towels...the air conditioning was great! the only thing WE didn't like is the TV being upstairs in the sitting room, a TV should've been in the family room/livingroom, the pool was very close to our cabin, and the lake was close also, the neighbors were very friendly, the pool was never crowded. We all had a great time, thank you for providing us with your lovely and inviting cabin. WE WILL BE BACK.....Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

The cabin was as pictured and advertised. We were steps from the pool and a short walk to the lake. Quick drive to Oval Beach- which the kids loved. Saugatuck and Douglas are very charming with many great restaurants. Cranes orchard/eatery was worth the drive. Many good antique shops. The Kalico Kitchen had a great supper buffet. We will definetly return next year. The cabin was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this property to everyone- especially for families with children.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

The cabin is clean, nicely decorated and convenient to town. My complaints are few: the parking (very limited within this community - only 2 cars allowed per cabin, even though the cabin sleeps 8 people) and the lack of many kitchen utensils for those who want to make their own meals instead of eating out. Otherwise, the cabin is great and I recommend it. The owner is very pleasant to deal with and quick to respond.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
