This three bedroom, two full-bath Haena house sits right in the middle of the most spectacular 5-mile strech of ocean in all of Hawaii, Kauai's north shore. The house sits less than 250 feet from the ocean's edge, and a five-minute walk along the sand will bring you to Tunnels, one of the best snorkeling and swimming beaches in Kauai, and perhaps the most beautiful beach in all of Hawaii. Kee beach, equally stunning, is a two mile drive from the house, as is Lumahai beach.
The home is modern, fully furnished with all your vacation needs, and provides 1600 (1165 enclosed and 335 of covered lanai) square feet of comfortable living, easily large enough for a family, yet cozy enough for a romantic getaway. Two of the bedrooms have queen-sized beds, while the third bedroom has a pair of twin beds. Two huge outdoor lanais help to bring the dramatic surroundings right into the home! A newly remodeled kitchen makes the home feel very open and spacious -- just an added perk!
Hear the ocean waves and feel those breezy trade winds (and see peeks of the ocean) from the huge outdoor lanai which faces the ocean, or view dramatic Mt. Manoa and it's waterfalls from the other large lanai. Swim with the sea turtles at Kee beach, two miles down the road, or lounge at Lumahai beach two miles back the other way. A 15-minute drive takes you to Hanalei, where you can enjoy fine dining, rent beach gear, etc. The beaches in front of the house are also well-known for their variety of seashells.
The house is located between the mile 8 and mile 9 markers, and sits at the end of a small cul-de-sac. The house faces the ocean and is well off the road and away from any road noise. The start of the Kaulau trail and the Na Pali coast is two miles from the house, as is Ke'e beach.
This area of Kauai is truly a spectacular place to vacation, well away from the noise of the city, in an almost entirely undeveloped area of Hawaii.

We had a wonderful and relaxing time during our stay at Haena Place. It was like returning home! We loved the new kitchen, cookware, flooring etc . Since we eat almost all of our meals at home the kitchen was a delight and we certainly utilized the new grill. As always we "lived" on the lanai. Plenty of seating for everyone. Staying 17 days was heaven (one day we hope to stretch it out to a month!!). We love the short walk to the beach and always feel like we have it all to ourselves. What a great location. We had rented this place in Sept 2012 for a week. Simply great place..all as in the desription and photos.. The proximity to the tunnel beach is fantastic...I loved the days on which I did not use my car and just walked to tunnel beach.... You can reach the nearest beach in 2 to 3 minutes by walk and tunnel beach in less than 10 minutes walk..... you can walk through the backyard to the nearest beacH and then from the nearest beach you can walk through the shore or you can walk by the road....again less than 10 minutes.... I have this video showing from where you should take a right turn to get to the best snorkling spot in Kauai at the Tunnel Beach... if you would like to see the vid, just go to Youtube and search for "Walk to the beach from backyard at the house in Hanalei Town, Kauai" or you can drive to Ke'e beach if you have small kids who would like to try and snorkel and are not much of swimmers... Couple of things the home could have been better is... 1. The house had a couple of shelves with some dead cockroaches and would be great if they could do a little better job at cleaning...no major issues though... 2. Some of the screen doors had some holes in them and so maybe they should either replace the screen doors or repair them...specially keeping in mind how there are many insects in Kauai in general... Over all...very good house and would recommend it !!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

We absolutely love your home! It is the most convenient, comfortable place on the North Shore. The beds sleep wonderful, the kitchen is well equipped, and the outdoor living space is grand for good times. We enjoyed the stroll to Tunnels each day. We come to the island at least once a year and plan to return to your lovely vacation home. Thank you for sharing it with us. Medea~Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
