Charming, Breezy, Unique, Renovated 2 BR Home, Short Walk to Downtown & Harbor
- Minimum stay:7-181 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Unique private home in quiet Watson Hill neighborhood, just steps to the marina and harbor, restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping, etc. You get the best of both worlds as it's an antique home (wide pine floorboards, built-ins) yet it's been completely renovated with granite countertops, stainless-steel appliances, hand-laid wood trim, and track lighting throughout. With a very private patio out back, a long deck and beautiful trees for leafy shade, High-def (1080p) HDTV with PlayStation 2 game system and games, and board games, it's a perfect place to relax between expeditions on foot to downtown Plymouth. Located just 3 miles from beautiful Plymouth Long Beach and a very short walk to the town center, it's the perfect destination for exploring all that Plymouth has to offer. And for those interested in daytime excursions, Cape Cod (15 minutes), and Boston (45 minutes) are short drives away. It's an ideal place for your Massachusetts vacation.
Gorgeous little house: Our little house is just under 1000 sq feet and is a perfect getaway, with all the updates and amenities you could think of. Hardwood floors, granite counters, stainless appliances, painted tin ceiling, hand-laid wood trim, track lighting, etc. Sliders to the long deck and super-private patio out back. Note it is ideally suited for 4 adults in the bedrooms, but can accommodate up to 6 people total with use of the pull-out couch in the living room.
Downtown Plymouth: Restaurants, bars, cafes, live music, shopping, marina, whale watches, deep-sea fishing, beaches, historic sites, many public golf courses, horse farms, cranberry bogs, sailing, theater, arts, festivals, parades... this is a gem of a town and it's just steps away. Yet Watson Hill is tucked away with a quiet neighborhood vibe. As owners we live in the same neighborhood just a couple blocks away and are eager to ensure you have an incredible vacation.
Boston and Cape Cod: Plymouth is just a short drive from the Cape Cod Canal and its beaches and historic towns, yet is also just 45 minutes south of Boston, a world-class city with so much to explore. Located in between, Plymouth has plenty to offer itself and also provides convenient access to every kind of activity. Take the ferry to Provincetown, or drive just an hour to Newport to tour the incredible mansions. You couldn't ask for a better place from which to launch explorations of southern New England... or to just relax and enjoy things right where you are.

If you are looking for a property that's just like home we would recommend this little gem very roomy down stairs every thing you need we stayed ten days we had to call Chris to turn heating up was round in 10 minutes what more can u ask.Stairs are a little steep but we are no spring chickens and we didn't have a problem .Area is great lots to do and see weather not to bad just missed sandy only bad when we had to go home next time will come in summer. Only thing we thought would be helpful would be the option to have the basic coffee tea milk ect in the house already on arrival and pay bill then, as we arrived late and then gone to shops tempers were a little frayed lol. once again Chris thanks Dave Pat Peck Grimsby EnglandDid you find this review helpful? Just spent two very enjoyable weeks at this charming home. Despite the inconvenience caused by Hurricane Sandy, our trip was delightful. Chris, the owner, was most helpful throughout our stay and assisted in procuring a nearby residence after our flight home was cancelled and we were "stranded" in beautiful Plymouth for a few additional days. The location of this house is perfect for visiting historic Plymouth with many sites and restaurants within short walking distance. Highly recommended property for a couple or a small family. We had a lovely long weekend and loved this cute cottage. It was so nice to be able to walk into the town and my daughter loved to use her scooter around the green at the end of the road. We love to leave the car in the driveway and explore and there was plenty to visit in walking distance. Lots of places to eat close by, check out Katy's Burger bar on the Main Street.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Wonderful little house in Plymouth!

Our family stayed at this little gem of a house for a week in September. It is small but certainly bigger than a hotel room and worked out wonderfully for us. The owners were extremely nice, were flexible with our dates of stay, were very informative of what we could expect, made arrangements for us to enter the home when we arrived until he could be there, and even provided a (clean and well-maintained!) pack-and-play for our baby to use while there. Everything in the house worked as promised, including the air conditioning units, washer & dryer, and dishwasher. The security deposit required is very reasonable, and was returned to us within a week or two of our stay. The house is very close to the downtown area, and is in a lovely neighborhood. Two things I would mention: 1) Two of our young children slept on the sofa bed in the living room and did just fine in it, no problems. However, after laying on it a few times myself I was glad that I was sleeping in the very comfortable queen size bed upstairs! But for kids, it would be no problem; and 2) As mentioned by other reviewers, the stairs to the second floor (and both bedrooms) are extremely steep and narrow. We did not allow our younger children to go up them at all for any reason, since we were concerned about them falling down trying to walk back down. I even had to be very careful walking down them, especially carrying the baby down. So just be forewarned, these stairs are not for the faint of heart. But neither of these 2 very tiny things would change my whole hearted recommendation for this lovely rental home! Thank you Chris & Shawna for the comfortable and lovely accommodations!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner was supposed to meet us at 4 pm and never showed up. We got into the home an hour and a half later than agreed. House in side was 89 degrees, 2 window units, 1 down stairs , 1 upstairs Took 3 days to get the house in side down to 76 degrees. Suggest he steps up the A/C units from 4500 BTU to 7500 10,000. Could not put the kids down for a afternoon naps. (2 & 4 yr. old girls) Way to uncomfortable in the house , nights were no bargin either. Screens in windows all have holes in them electrical outlet in living room not covered, wires hanging out had to put a chair in front so the kids didn't get hurt. Not a happy renterOwner response: I am very sorry to see this review taint our perfect track record of 100% 5-star reviews since we first started renting it out in 2008. I object to its contents, and feel compelled to reply for the sake of anyone reading this and considering renting our beautiful little home. This is the first I'm hearing of any of these complaints. I am confident that the motivation for this poor review is the $50 we had to deduct from this tenant's security deposit, for excess cleaning charges and a late checkout. (This was only the second time we've ever had to withhold any part of the damage / security deposit. Frankly I thought I was being generous to return most of it.) To address the details of these complaints: * I had provided this tenant with instructions to access the house as I wasn't able to be there right when he arrived. * It is regrettable the A/C had been left off all day, that was an unfortunate one-time mistake. There was a vacancy the night before so our normal turnover routine was disrupted. Mea culpa, that wouldn't happen again. But I do not believe it took 3 days to cool the house. One of the A/C units is brand new, both work perfectly, and nobody else has had any problems staying cool. * The "electrical outlet" he mentioned was in fact harmless surround speaker wires that simply needed to be tucked back into the wall out of sight. They posed absolutely no risk to anyone. We take pride in maintaining a gorgeous, comfortable, stylish house and in ensuring our tenants have a fantastic time. Please be sure to read the other reviews, which accurately portray this reality. Thank you. Sincerely, Chris and Shawna Weekly

This is a great house and we enjoyed our stay immensely. It is close to the beach and some delicious seafood at the waterfront which is in walking distance. The house is clean and lovely and we spent many mornings sleeping in. Thanks for the perfect house, Chris!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

This was an awesome place to stay. I stayed with my four children (13, 12, 10 and 4 years old) for a week. Chris, the owner, was very friendly and made sure our stay was extremely pleasant. Upon arrival we found the house extra clean. We shopped at the grocery store and were set for the entire week! It was definitely a "home away from home". The location was great as well. My children and I were very pleased with this house. Chris made himself available to us at all hours. I had only paid the deposit and did not pay him the rest of the money until 3 or 4 days into our stay. He had no issues with this and did not seem overly concerned. There were plenty of things for my children to do in and around the house, as well as activities within a close walking distance. We were able to explore all that downtown Plymouth had to offer without ever getting in our car. If you are planning a trip to this area, this is definitely a house you should look into. It was comfortable and cozy, yet big enough that my children were not on top of each other. I recommend this house for couples, families with children, and anyone looking for a getaway. Being from southern California, we could have used a few more blankets. Other than that, I could not find one bad thing to say about this house. Great house, great location, great condition, and most of all, a STEAL of a find!!!!!!!!! On a scale from 1-10, this house gets 11!!!!!!Owner response: Thanks Joe! Glad you had such a great experience. Your kids were really sweet too. Come visit again! Best, Chris

We were fortunate to get this as a very last minute rental and feel very fortunate. This two bedroom house became our home in the three days that we stayed there. It is centrally located in Plymouth with easy access to the local tourist areas, Boston, and Cape Cod. As mentioned, there are steep stairs, but they are part of the charm of this period home and easily managed. Chris, the owner was extremely accommodating and helpful.Did you find this review helpful? This home has been nicely updated and is perfectly situated, close to Plymouth harbor and convenient to Boston and everything on the cape. Great for sightseeing or just relaxing on the porch. Stairs are rather steep but very well lit. We flew into Providence, RI as another tenant suggested. Airport and commute over to Plymouth are very easy to manage.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thanks for the kind words, Nancy! Good tip about flying into Providence, it's nicer and closer than Logan. We're so glad you had a great stay and look forward to seeing you again sometime! Best Regards, Chris and Shawna
