Ashland farmhouse description

Location, location! If you want to be a 10 minute drive to downtown Ashland, yet also want to experience a country atmosphere, enjoy a cup of coffee at the creek or sip a glass of wine next to the campfire, Neil Creek House is waiting for you.

The updated 1910 farmhouse, set on over 5 creekside acres, offers a peaceful and healing retreat within minutes to downtown Ashland. The house offers large, light filled rooms, that are comfortably and tastefully furnished with antiques and art. The new flat screen high definition tv, and wireless internet access will keep you abreast of the outside world. Downstairs is the master bedroom, with its own porch offering views of the property, a mural on the barn and creekside trees. There is an adjacent bath, with a 6 foot, clawfoot tub and shower. Upstairs is the large 2nd bedroom, offering two queen beds, cable tv, and lovely views of the mountains and creekside trees. The adjacent bath, with a claw foot tub/shower is a sweet retreat in itself( soak in the tub and watch the clouds drift by!). The kitchen is large and bright! It's a great place to gather, enjoy a meal, take in the view of the mountain, and watch the hawks soar into their nest. Oh, it's also fully equipped to cook a great meal. If you want a catered dinner, just ask, I know one of the best caterers in town!

My family and friends have always commented on how warm and comfortable the house is, and how much they've enjoyed their stay. My goal is to insure your visit is as enjoyable. I look forward to meeting you and your friends!

Sincerely,
David

We loved this sweet farmhouse in a tranquil setting but just a 10-minute drive to downtown. The kitchen was sunny with a pretty view and was well equipped. The only items we wished had been there were storage containers for leftovers as we cooked in quite a bit. We also saw several plays, did a little hiking at Emigrant Lake and in Lithia Park, ate at several restaurants and shopped downtown. We especially like the Indy bookstores – Bloomsbury Books, Shakespeare Books and Antiques and the Book Exchange. Communication with David was easy, he is a wonderful owner, and our deposit was refunded shortly after our stay. Highly recommend!

This home is so lovely. It is decorated beautifully with a variety of vintage furniture and artwork. Guests are treated to every comfort of home---and more. Everything was spotlessly clean. There's an adorable window seat, multiple decks and porches, and beds fit for a queen. We loved the quaint, olden day bathrooms. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. Top all of that off with a beautiful forested setting with a creek running through it. The owner David is very friendly and thoughtful. We can't thank him enough for accommodating us with a special need we had! We definitely plan to return some day, and we highly recommend this rental property.

Our son and wife from Seattle and we from the San Francisco Bay area had a chance to relax and visit. The setting is very suitable to relaxing and viewing pictures using new tech and the living room TV. We went into Ashland and walked their great park. Our son and wife went into the high hills (mountains) and had a great hiking experience. The mural on the shed is also very good. We will likely meet here again in the not too distant future.

My friend and I stayed here this past weekend. The house and grounds are both lovely, and David is extremely nice and thoughtful. We had any questions answered. Definitely check this place out, especially the meditation circle by the creek. Thanks David!

Outstanding representation of the wonderfully inviting, beautifully appointed 110 yr old farmhouse. The owner took great care in considering the needs of his guests. On arrival and upon entering, the guests are greeted with the calming aroma of lavendar and honey.Immediately the shoulders drop and you are there. What a fantastic retreat in all ways. The wonderful creek, chairs appropriately placed, several entry ways, pathways to walk, wild life, cricket choirs and the milky way! We can't wait to visit in the winter. Its sure to be an equally relaxing experience. We enjoyed a wonderful dinner out at New Sammy's Cowboy Bistro, fabulous! Also, the Peerless has a filet Mignon hamburger not to be missed and last, Amuse, delicious! Thank you to our host for the wonderful recommendations. We toured the Applegate valley one day and packed a picnic and came home with some wonderful wines to share.Thank you so much to our host! All needs were considered, clean as a whistle, beds envelope one into a soft cocoon.... Ah, such restful sleep. Thank you so much for sharing your charming home. Wish I could sign.....!

We found the accommodations, the host, the supplies, the bed, the gardens - all just perfect for a respite time in Ashland following a long illness and preceding heart surgery. The plays, the times out for dinner, the weather and the home in the country all combined to make our stay of 4 nights just wonderful. Thank you, David.

What a fabulous "girls weekend," I enjoyed with my family this past weekend. The house was incredible, even better than expected! Clean, organized, close to town, beautifully decorated, and cozy! There isn't one thing I would change about the house, 6 of us stayed and there was plenty of room for everyone. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was nice and open, and living room was roomy enough for all of us. The dining room table was great for our group! Lots of wonderful memories, we will definitely come again.

Our family absolutely loved this home. Being in the hotel business, we are really particular about cleanliness, comfort, and quiet. This property had all these and more. It was a quick, easy drive to the center of town for plays, restaurants, and shopping, but so nice to go "home" in the evening to the beautiful grounds and airy, spacious home that David has created. It was a particularly hot weekend when we visited and the air conditioning not only worked well but was also quiet, unlike those hotel room units where you feel like you're sleeping next to a jet engine all night. David was highly trustworthy, easy to work with and had great recommendations for restaurants, activities, etc. The property is just as advertised - lovely.

This home was such a wonderfully well appointed and arranged gem for vacations. We followed the light to each porch throughout the day, each one a reading or gazing retreat. The light in every room, and on every porch soothed the soul. We enjoyed the view through the amazing kitchen windows while cooking. The natural sounds of the stream running through the property added to this delightful rural home. It is just ten easy minutes from Ashland; so, we could spend our days reading and napping, and still see plays or go to the Britt Festival (30 min.) in the evening. The owner did everything to ensure our stay was a wonderful experience. One word of warning, though; you may think this home will be a good place to stay while you see everything around the area. However, you may find you have everything you need in one place.
