Stayed for several days in April 2013 to celebrate our 30th anniversary. We are typically Siesta Key travelers but wanted to find something a little closer....we had tried the Destin area before and were not pleased at all with the crowds and beach area. This area was MUCH nicer...the beach was absolutely beautiful, the grounds at Tops'l were very nice, and this unit was absolutely perfect. Pictures were great, but wow, it was really very nice. Our experience from booking to checking in was extremely easy and the owners were delightful to work with. The view in the pictures do not do justice to the panoramic view available from the main living and balcony! Spring break this year was about 20 degrees cooler and cloudier than last year so having the oversized balcony with the beach view allowed us to enjoy the beach even on the days we couldn't actually go. The beds were yummy comfortable, and I miss the mattress now that I am home! The only reason I did not give the property 5 stars was due to the resort itself rather than the unit itself. And if you properly budget you can avoid our unpleasant surprise in finding that the resort does NOT provide beach chairs. They have a service that provides beach chairs for a daily rental fee per chair. This can be a quite substantial additional expense depending upon how many chairs you need, whether you require an umbrella or cabana, and how many days you plan on going to the beach. So please remember to factor this expense in to the actual rental amount. However, had we done our homework and not made assumptions based on other resorts we have stayed at, we would have been prepared. Overall we made great memories, and are grateful the owners graciously shared their home with us!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We purchased our condo because we have travelled extensively and finally came to the conclusion that Destin was our favorite place. We chose this unit because of the great views of the beach and the skyline as well as the very friendly family layout of the unit. The 10 foot ceilings and the full length windows on the patio/beach side give an open and spacious feeling. We are very happy and appreciative when people who choose to stay with us during their vacation take the time to e-mail us and tell us how much they enjoyed themselves. We are especially proud of how many of the families that have stayed with us in the past, re-book for their next Destin visit. The Topsl complex is beautiful. Our building is right on the beach, and there are lots of things to do. The pools offer tables, chairs, and lounges that are free of charge, but unfortunately when you go tho the beach, the set ups are not free and are rather expensive. I have inquired about the extra charge for the set-ups on the beach, but the Topsl complex does not own the beach service. As owners, we pay an extra $28/day (amenity package) during your stay so that you, our guest, can have full use of the facilities on property at no extra charge..(note: not all owners offer the amenity package for their guests). I would love it if the beach set ups were included but they are not. When we stay in our condo and go to the beach, we are also charged for the set ups at the same rate that the guest is. Again, thank you for taking the time to send in a comment and we are very happy that your experience (other than the beach set up fees) was very positive. Me and my family stayed at this location (Penthouse Suite 1510-Tides) on Sept 10-12. The amenities were amazing and it was just an elevator ride to the beach. Everything was provided and was amazing. I would highly recomment this to other visitors. The process from check-in to check-out was seamless. Also the communication with the owner prior to my arrival was just as outstanding. I had not problem getting my questions answered and information on hand. Please take a second look at this place, if you are thinking of renting in Destin Beach.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
