Our piece of paradise has an incredible balcony view of the Gulf of Mexico, its sugar white beach and emerald green water. One unique asset, is that to the right, outside the front door, is 13 miles of undeveloped beach. Our condo is in building #4 of the EL Matador Condominium, which is an established secluded community on Okaloosa Island with a private beachside pool, a heated pool at the club house, tennis and basketball courts as well as an exercise room. El Matador is a gated community with 24 hour security.
Our condo has been renovated. It is a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom that comfortably sleeps up to 4 to 6 guests. The master bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with a private bath. The second bedroom has bunk beds with a double bed on the bottom and twin on the top , as well as a DVD player. The second full bathroom is across the hallway. The fully stocked kitchen over looks the dining room and family room. There is a TV/DVD player in the family room. Coin operated laundry facilities located close to unit on same floor.
From our 6th floor corner unit's private balcony, guests can see the Gulf of Mexico, beautiful pool, and well kept grounds which is perfect for kids of all ages to play. Outside our front door, sunset views overlooking the Gulf of Mexico and Sound are simply breathtakingly captivating.
Okaloosa Island is located just a few traffic lights between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. It is the home of award winning restaurants, The Boardwalk, where you find Nightlife and the Gulfarium which has a dolphin park. Watersports like surfing, parasailling, jet skiing and shelling are minutes away! It truly is a beautiful beach island.
If you are looking for a beach get away with the simple pleasures of life, this is the perfect place. ~ Due to allergies, the condo is NON-SMOKING & Pets are not allowed. Renter or Renter's companions must be at least 29 years of age unless accompanied by an adult guardian or parent. ~$250 booking/security deposit; cleaning fee of $95 and 11% Florida tax added to the rental AND cleaning amounts.

As a FWB native, I prize locations and people that remind us of all FWB/Destin USED to be before "the boom". Our stay at this unit reminded us of just how good the people and locale of Fort Walton Beach could be. A top-floor unit in a well-constructed complex meant great views and perfect quiet when wanted. Owners who care about their guests made the physical environment and rental experience both relaxing and thoroughly pleasureable. The location (immediately abutting the Eglin AFB island reservation) - was outstanding as we were able to have the wonderful experience of being "the only people for miles" when we too our early morning walks on the each. An experience near impossible to find anywhere anymore on this gorgeous coast. We will definitely return to this property again! David & TerriRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
