Location: Maalaea, Central Maui, Maui, Hawaii, USA (15 minutes from Kahului Airport) View Map
Accommodations: Condo, 2 Bedrooms + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-6)
Keywords: Condominium
This beautiful, upgraded, two-bedroom, two-bath condominium corner unit is 15 yards from the waters of Ma'alaea Bay with a spectacular view of Mount Haleakala, Molikini, and Kaho'lawe Island from the second floor lanai with southeast to southwest views.
The Maalaea Kai condominium is located between the Ma'alaea small boat harbor and the Ma'alaea Beach. The four-mile, crescent-shaped beach is great for jogging, strolling, and whale watching during the winter. It parallels a US national park service bird sanctuary, which tends to reduce popular beach access. The beach, despite its beauty and panoramic views, is virtually crowd free.
It is a three-minute walk to the Ma'alaea Harbor, Maui Aquarium, shops, and restaurants. Maalaea is known for its seclusion, but is only 15 minutes from activities in Lahaina and South Maui. Nineteen golf courses are located within five to 20 minutes from the condominium. Listen to the sounds of the ocean as you sleep.

Why the Owner Chose Maalaea
We fell in love with unit which was in the building where my mother owned a condo for the past 24 years. The corner unit with the views of Haleakala in the morning. You could not be closer to the ocean unless you were on it in a boat. I love hearing the waves crash all night long from the Master Bedroom. Centrally located to the entire island. Great ocean breezes!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
Great views of the the whales during the winter and great views of Molikini. I love the BBQ on the ocean. The beach that you can walk on all the way to Kihei. The aquarium is a short walk as is the harbor for a boat trip to Lanai or Molikini. This is a great place to relax and unwind from the stresses of life.

I just wanted to take a moment and say thanks for the great condo. We (3 adults) had such a great time I wished I could buy this condo and stay. We found that it had everything we needed. The beds were great, and sleeping to the sound of the ocean everynight and waking to sunrise, then rolling over and going back to sleep was wonderful. It is a very quiet unit, we heard no noise on any of the sides. There didn't seem to be many children around either. It is very conviently located on the island. We ate one night at Beach Bums in the shopping center right up the street and thought the staff and service along with the food great. If you stay here be sure to check out the shops and Beach Bums. We also went on a snorkel trip with Pacific Whale Foundation right there in Ma'alaea and it was so nice to be able to leave from right there. I know our next trip we will stay in this condo again!
Owner response:Thank you so much! So glad you enjoyed your stay. It is important to us that you love the condo as much as we do!

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was just as advertised. The only negative is the beds were way too hard for me. We were fighting over who was going to sleep on the couch! Nice location. No beach to walk on within a half mile. We loved how close the water is and how we fell asleep to the waves crashing. Nice complex. The owners were great to deal with and communicated quickly.

Upon entering the north facing door to this condo we were immediately aware of the power of elements designed and placed in a manner to enhance our vacation. Mirrors throughout the east and west side of this 2-bedroom condo made the shoreline on the south facing lanai even more impressive. The outdoors just 15 yards away even at the second story level immersed us and the sound of the waves mesmerized us both during the day and at night. This vacation location was theraputic and relaxing with a rating of 10 on a scale from 1-10. We were fortunate to be there during the full moon period and as the moon would rise from behind Haleakala crater, it's beams shone across the bay right through the lanai and into the bedroom. At night flaming con tiki torches along the shore added to the beauty and splendor of each night. We did all the usual touristy things but the best time was always at the condo relaxing, reading and/or reconnecting with each other in an atmosphere of serenity and peace. We experienced sunrise after sunrise and sunset after sunset with awe and inspiration. We highly recommend this vacation location to anyone needing a refuge from hectic living. It is truly a paradise vacation location with powerful and therapudic qualities.
Owner response:Thank you Geno and Janice! So glad you enjoyed our favorite location on the island! Dawn and Dean!

We just returned from a week in this condo. It is certainly as advertised and we spent the first couple of hours just relaxing and watching the whales from the lanai. From the condo it is a short walk to the beach and the Maalaea Village shops, try Beach Bum's for a good and huge meal. The couple who went with us was seeing Hawaii for the first time and the short ride to Lahina, a luau In Wailea and the Pacific Whale watching trip sold them on another visit, soon. The sunami was more than we planned on but a visible and interesting bonus for us, not for the poor people in Japan however. The condo was a great change from hotels/resorts. It was quiet and we could eat/drink and swim when we wanted. We met some of the neighbors, renters and locals, who were happy to make suggestions and recommedations. This condo will be our first choice for our next visit. Many thanks to Dawn and Dean.

It is true that this location is fantastic. We could hear the ocean all day and nite. We saw whales 2 mornings and absolutely the best surfing, either to participate or just watch. We would walk to the beach, a few blocks away and then walk a beautiful sandy beach for hours every morning. We would spend a couple of hours at the pool in the afternoon, if we were around, the pool is great - very clean and well maintained. We had a car and did many outings. We also bought most groceries in Kehei at the grocery store. We had a couple of nice lunches in Kehei. Restaurant called Ba Da Bing on the deck, was decent for burgers or pizza. We had 1 fantastic Fish dinner at the Water front Restaurant, just a couple of doors down from condo, it is a must. The condo is a nice setup with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, each separate. The lanai is great. However we found the condo needed a real good cleaning or maybe it's time for a reno. But we didn;t let that get us down, pretty much it has most things you need.
Owner response:Our condo has recently been painted and has a beautiful new updated kitchen and bathrooms with granite countertops. There is a therapeutic Master bed in the Master which overlooks the sunrise in Haaleakala. We will address the cleaning issues with the cleaning crew as we are always looking for better ways to improve our service.

We stayed in your condo and love every moment. I have never seen so many whales as we did in the 9 days we were at the condo. We hated to leave the condo. Very clean and beautiful. I plan to come back and hope to get this condo.

Four of us stayed here from Dec 29, 2006-Jan 2, 2007. It was the most pleasant condo we have ever visited! Everything is just as described; easy access to anywhere on the island or just sit and relax. This New Years Eve was most memorable. Thank You!!!

We stayed in this unit a couple of years ago and it was FANTASTIC! So well furnished and clean. It compares to some of the timeshare condos on Kaanapali. Loved falling asleep to the crashing waves.
Owner response:Thank you Pat for your comments. I am glad you enjoyed the unit and I hope you will come back soon. Mahalo, Dawn

This condo is in the most peaceful and relaxing location. To fall asleep each night to the rolling sounds of the ocean is pure bliss. The location is terrific for accessing the south or west sides as it is evenly split between the two. Perhaps the best part of the facility is the owner Dawn. She is most accomodating with requests and someone you can really trust. Could probably use an update on the pots and pans (I bought three and left them behind) but that is small potatoes with all the other terrific amenities she offers. Mahalo!
Owner response:Thank you Eric! I am very happy that you and your family enjoyed your stay. I will look at the pots and pans when I am there and buy what is needed!
