Very nice apartment . I stayed for 4 days with my family: 2 adults and 4 kids (age 8) at the end of April 2013. Trastevere is" a world apart". You can feel...the REAL ancient Rome. The apartment is in a very quiet position, but just around the corner you can find shops and very good restaurants. Even with the kids we walked EVERYWHERE...San Pietro, Colosseo, La Bocca della Verità... and if you don't want to walk too much..there's a wide choice of bus in the nearby. The apartment is very clean, comfortable, and the bathroom is big enough. Bathroom provided with soap, shower cream and everything you may need.It exactly respect what described in the announcement. My kids also found some snacks waiting for them in the kitchen. That was very kind from Jo and Mary.. two persons simply LOVELY, and able to make you feel like at home.Thank you very much for everything. See you soon in Rome!!!!!!Laura,Carlo e i 4 !!!!!

Owner response: So happy you enjoyed your stay at my apartment, it was nice having you. Hope to see you and your lovely family soon, until then....say hello to the "Fab 4". regards Jo and Mary
My 3 daughters and I stayed 5 wonderful nights. We loved the location and what we were able to walk to from this apartment. We loved the Trastevere neighborhood and the nightlife. We wanted a true "Roma" experience and this apartment was it. The character of the Trastevere neighborhood and this apartment was excellent. And with a full kitchen, laundry and Wifi it was so much better than a hotel room. Wonderful surprise to have a traditional Italian Easter cake, wine, milk, coffee and bread for us upon arrival! Taxi stand 1 block away for the sites further out. Landlord booked transportation to/from the airport for us that was very reliable also. If I am lucky enough to return to Roma again, I would see if the apartment was available.

Owner response: I'm so happy to know that you loved our place, Trastevere is the best in Rome! When you come back it will be a pleasure to see you again and have you with us. Regards to you and your lovely family, Jo and Mary
It was a lovely apartment in the prettiest part of Rome. We were able to walk everywhere...just over the footbridge & about a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum, the Spanish Steps, the Forum and many other sights. The building is lovely, built in the 1600's on a little cobblestone lane. The area is full of wonderful restaurants - and the coffee was the best I've ever had. I would stay here again!

Great Apartment in the Heart of Rome
Great Apartment in the Heart of Rome
We had five fabulous days in this quaint apartment. We enjoyed the buzz and liveliness of the area and the nightlife. The apartment is within walking distance to most attractions and the tram and buses are conveniently located. There are lots of little cafes and restaurants nearby and there is also a supermarket and fruit and vegetable shops well within walking distance. We ate at the local restaurants and shopped in the area. The photos accurately depict the apartment's rooms and facilities. The apartment was very clean and there were also some groceries waiting for us. This apartment has so much character, as does the area it is located in. Jo, the owner, is a lovely person who speaks English fluently. Jo waited for us to arrive and was very helpful with instructions to transport and the area in general. Jo also let us use the apartment right up until the van came to pick us up for the airport in the late afternoon. This was very generous and we really appreciated not having to move our luggage again. We had a great time in this lovely apartment and look forward to returning.

I just want to thank you for the beautiful apartment you helped me rent. We absolutely loved Trastevere and fell in love with the area. It was the perfect apartment for us in the best location in Rome. Josette was so nice to wait for us and even bought us a few groceries! Thank you again and I hope to stay in one of the apartments you have someday soon! Kim

Lovely Trastevere apartment in Heart of Rome
Lovely Trastevere apartment in Heart of Rome
Just returned from a month in Rome. Apartment in Trastevere was wonderful: comfortable with charm yet modern conveniences provided by thoughtful owner. Coffee and wine and English speaking owner greeted us upon arrival. Trastevere neighborhood has to be the most fun in Rome: so convenient to everything including all buses and with amazing restaurants and shops! We ate pizza and bought bread at the delicious Forna pizzeria nearby and ate gelato at Checco and Chettiere 2 blocks away everyday. There is an English bookstore across from Forno izza and another used books in Trastevere as well. We were located across Ponto Sisto bridge from the famous and fun Campo di Fiori outdoor market. The apartment has a kitchen so we cooked food from all of the wonderful markets. We were there in spring so there were fresh strawberries, artichokes and asparagus. owner provided maps and information about Rome/ so great! We highly recommend this apartment and this owner( she also has other apartments of different sizes and areas) We are telling our friends and family/ This was a wonderful holiday!

Owner response: And you are perfect too! I wait for your again!
I stayed in the apartment for a few nights with my boyfriend and another couple. It was perfect, very charming and in the perfect place in Rome. If you know anything about the city, Trastevere is the most lively and interesting place, I think. Walking distance to the tram and bus stop and all major sites. Loved the shower, nice touch. I didn't find the noise a problem but I also have lived in Rome before so I am used to the noise. Great pizza shop just around the corner. The woman also gave us a cute little book with great restaurants in it, you must try them.

Owner response: Thank you for your comment Erin! I hope to host you again! Mary and Jo Although Trastevere is an animated area, as tourists must know, this apartment is in a quiet part of the alley
Loved the location
Loved the location
We enjoyed our stay here, two adults, two teens in a fun section of Rome, walkable to most major sights. Great place if you like to be in an area with plenty of nightlife and don't mind the noise-- we didn't. Layout of apartment is not great: 19 steep spiral stairs to basement kitchen with two twin beds, damp/musty down there. Teeny-tiny bathroom. Upstairs bedroom with large bunk beds was comfortable and the mini fridge in there was a nice touch. If you aren't ready for some imperfections in old buildings in Rome, you probably shouldn't be looking at apartment rentals anyway.

Owner response: Now bathroom is larger with hydromassage shower. In bedroom there is a double bed+double sofa bed instead of 2 double bunk beds. Trastevere houses are mainly on 2 floors, the ones on ground floor have a lower floor.
Nice location & spacious apartment
Nice location & spacious apartment
We rented this apartment for 4 days, end of May, 2010 for a family of four, 2 adults & 2 kids. The location is good, in trastevere but about half a mile from Campo Dei Fiori, walking distance with kid in stroller. Bus stop to Vatican/ Colosseum is also close by. Lots of eateries nearby with also a small grocery store with fruits, eggs and such. All through communication with Mary, who is owner's cousin, was thorough and very prompt. Apartment is spacious, clean, and just as shown in pictures. Jo, the owner met us on arrival at the apartment promptly and explained in detail around the apartment and speaks English very well. She had also stocked the fridge/pantry with some basics which was nice. We used the washing machine as well. Bathroom is a bit tiny, but again well stocked with all necessities. Only negative was the musty smell in the basement kitchen as the apartment is in a shady area and doesn't get much sunshine inside, should be good in summer. All in all we had a comfortable stay and recommend this apartment.

Owner response: Now there is a bigger bathroom with hydromassage shower! In bedroom now there is a double sofa bed and a double bed. In the kitchen there is a de-humidifier so problem should be solved
We just got back from our stay in Rome, this was my third trip and I think I fell in love with Trastavere. The apartment is in a great location if you want to get the feel of "true" Rome. We had three children with us and they loved the giant bunk beds. It was so convenient having a van pick us up from the airport and drop us off when our trip was over. I love how close the apartment is to everything you need to see, we ended up walking to most destinations. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!
