This unique house is located in Perrin Cove on the beautiful emerald green waters of Lake Burton. The homesite once was the location of a 1920's vacation cabin with a handsome rock fireplace. Through the years, the cabin eventually rotted away, but the fireplace remained. In 1960, the current owners discovered the fireplace and built a small but quaint cabin onto it--we call this the 'old part'. Two large additions were made to the little cabin: one for a master bedroom suite, and one for a large dining room. Also added to the grounds were a two-story garage and a two-story boathouse.
The main house itself has four bedrooms, each with a full bathroom. The 'old' part of the house has its own front porch and sitting area, and also has the original woodburning rock fireplace (there is a generous supply of wood stacked on the grounds). The 'new' part of the house has a large living room with gas logs in the fireplace, a spectacular dining room with a huge round table, large galley kitchen, large master suite, and a large wooden deck with a hot tub. There are views of the lake from the porch, deck, living room and dining room.
Down the hill is the two-story boathouse with a separate bedroom (no bathroom). Many hours can pass just sitting on the porch swings and hammock. For the more active vacationers, swimming and boating are absolutely fabulous in this pristine lake!
Up the hill is the two-story garage. A newly-built, curving covered walkway lets you escape those mountain showers during loading and unloading your car when getting from the garage to the house.
The water in Lake Burton is some of the cleanest in the state--it holds the most beautiful colors of nature, reflecting the green trees in spring and summer, the autumn hues in fall, and the bright blue of the skies in winter.
There is a pontoon boat at the boathouse. Rental for the boat is separate from rental of the house.
The area surrounding Lake Burton holds many pleasant surprises for those adventurous enough to leave the lake. Clayton is close by, and Highlands is a short trip, too. And don't miss the local places like Goats on the Roof (they really are on the roof!), The Dillard House, and the Alpine town of Helen.

My family had a wonderful, relaxing visit. We loved the home and Lake Burton, and were very comfortable in arrangements. Lots of "chillin" areas to read, nap, and visit. Would recommend and will return.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

Spring finally came to Lake Burton and it is beautiful. Your lake house is great--so many interesting items to look at inside and out. We built a nice fire at night in the old fireplace; it's a treasure. And the master bed is fit for royalty. Can't wait to come back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
