Kensington & Chelsea house description
2-6 MONTH STAYS ONLY. NOT AVAILABLE FOR DAILY OR WEEKLY RENTALS.
This is a wonderful end-of-terrace house in Campden Grove, just off Kensington Church Street. This residential street is a couple of minutes walk from Kensington High Street, which has major shopping and a tube station (District and Circle lines), and five minutes from Notting Hill Gate (that tube has District, Circle and Central lines). There are many bus lines nearby. Holland Park and Kensington Gardens are close and the West End and City are easy to get to. With its amenities and central location this is a highly desirable area.
The house is a classic London type, just over 2,400 sq. ft. on 4 floors, with a front paved area behind iron railings and a secluded rear patio garden with table and chairs. Everything throughout is in good condition. There is modern plumbing, central heating and some heated floors. The entrance level (called raised ground floor in London) has a hall leading to the stairs. Off the hall is a beautiful dining room with a table seating 6, leading to a fully-equipped and stylish kitchen, connecting to a breakfast room. A half flight up from the hall is a bathroom with shower. On the first floor at the front there is a wonderful sitting room with French windows opening onto a balcony, a fireplace with gas fire, and comfortable chairs. Connecting through double doors to the rear is a small, cozy study/TV room, also with a gas fire. The second floor has a master bedroom with queen-size antique bed, connecting to a master bath with tub and shower. There is also a single bedroom on this floor and a separate WC. The lower ground floor front has a large bedroom with queen-size bed which can convert to 2 singles. There is a shower room and WC at the front. At the rear there is a further pair of connecting rooms, currently unfurnished, which can be used as a bedroom or office suite. Also at the rear is a full bathroom with tub and shower, and the washer and dryer.
The house is available for 2-6 MONTH RENTALS ONLY. Please do not contact me for any other rental lengths. The house would suit one person, or a couple, maybe with older children, who need to relocate to London for a short period. I use the house regularly but can be flexible on timing and price for the right tenant.

Well exceeded expectations!
Well exceeded expectations!
I first rented this delightful house in 2008, after having previously enjoyed a wonderful stay in another Kensington house that belonged to the same owner. I planed to stay for three months but ended up not leaving for over a year! No expense was ever spared to ensure that everything was of the highest standard of quality. The owner is collector of fine antiques and the house is furnished with great taste and style. Then there is the magnificent location...Just a short walk to the delights of Wholefoods on Kensington High Street....London's finest supermarket. In the other direction are the antique stores and interesting boutiques in Kensington Church Street. It really would be difficult to find a better location for an extended stay in London. I cannot recommend this property highly enough.

About the owner: I live on the US East Coast, and this is my London home. I use it regularly to visit family, or on business, or as a jumping off point to other parts of the world. I am looking for one person or a couple or a small family that needs to spend a few months in London. I am flexible on timing and price for the right tenant. I would also consider an arrangement in which the renter uses the house for a few weeks, then leaves and returns later for another short period. I have had successful arrangements in the past with business people who want to leave their office set up in the house while they are away. Sorry I cannot consider short term or weekly rentals.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I come to London to see friends and family, and also for the performing arts -- theatre, music and opera -- which are like nowhere else on earth. The house is perfectly positioned: Kensington is reasonably quiet, but you are a short bus or tube ride from the West End, the South Bank arts complex, the Wigmore Hall, Sloane Square with the Royal Court Theatre and Cadogan Hall, the Albert Hall, Covent Garden. If you are in the financial industry, take a 5-minute walk up to Notting Hill Gate tube and get on the Central Line direct to the City. (On Saturday mornings Notting Hill Gate has one of London's best farmer's markets.) Immediately outside the house there is a parking space where an hourly rental car is positioned (like a Zipcar), so between that and the excellent public transport there is no need to keep a car here -- I don't.
