The location is wonderful, right in the middle of the trendy Marais district. It is a very comfortable apartment, with a generous living space. The small terrace has lovely views of Parisian rooftops, and the Pantheon(!) Even though it is in the heart of Paris, it is very peaceful and quiet at night. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable.

The location is excellent - one of our biggest regrets was not realizing we should explore Le Marais more. Great restaurants close by, markets, easy transportation access. Guy and Jean Michel were excellent hosts as well - thank you!

The apartment has everything you need to stay. The bathroom has a large number of towels, soap, hair dryer, washing machine. Kitchen equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker, electric kettle, all necessary utensils, including wine glasses, a set of spices, tea and more. The room is very cozy, warm, the bed is comfortable and wide, there are many interesting art books and guidebook about Paris and France, many useful brochures about attractions. The house has an elevator, windows are located on a very quiet street, all the store (food, flowers, etc.) are within walking distance. I highly recommend this apartment for a living.

Everything in the previous reviews is accurate. Most appreciated was the neighbourhood, which is literally overflowing with high-level butchers, pastry shops, bakers, fish mongers, and wine shops. Excellent clothes and shoe shopping also. You can spend several days in this neighbourhood alone and have a real Paris experience. We felt like locals. Quiet at night. Lovely little balcony. Perfect.

My wife and I stayed in this very Parisian studio in late October 2011. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. The photos and description is very accurate. Guy is a very sweet man, and is very helpful and caring. We felt very comfortable during our visit and would happily stay here again. The studio is located in the Marais, which is nicely located a short taxi ride from the Eurostar station at Gare Du Nord (the taxi was about 15 euro), and 2 Metro stations on Line 8 are within 5 minute walk, which makes all of Paris easily accessible. Paris is a walking city, so be prepared to walk, but there are lots to see at every turn. We are highly recommending this flat to our friends and we look forward to our next Paris visit and staying at this apartment. Aloha from Hawaii!

What a cute apartment we stayed here for 11 nights and it was magical! What more could you ask for great hosts, great central location, cute surroundings and a washing machine. The balcony was good too where we had breakfast and a few dinners.

My situation is a little odd, since I live nearby this apartment in Paris - I am sometimes over-run with family or friends who come to visit, and this time I was looking for a quiet place to get away from them all! I was lucky that this apartment was available, as it was just what I was looking for - plus a little balcony terrace! The owners have done a nice job - the place is spotless and comfortably furnished. Although there is no TV or telephone (it was nice to be unreachable!), there is free WiFi, for those of you who are addicted. The building is quite old, but is maintained beautifully, and was apparently re-done sometime in the '30's in the Art Deco Style. I enjoyed cooking little meals on the vintage stove - just like the one I had in my first apartment in Paris, "way back when" - and eating dinner while watching the sunsets from the terrace. Didn't know you could see the Parthenon from that neighborhood! As far as the noise factor that might bother some people - Paris is a noisy place, and there is no escaping that fact - or the garbage trucks... However, with the double-glazed windows shut, I did not hear any noise whatsoever. The owners were a complete pleasure to deal with, and were happy to answer any and all questions I might have had. Already familiar with the neighborhood, I quite enjoyed going just around the corner on rue de Bretagne for first-rate butchers, bakers, fruits, wine, etc etc. I would highly recommend this apartment for a single or a couple who are looking to spend some time in a typical French neighborhood. The studio was a perfect place for a single person as myself, but plenty of room for 2 people; I had a visitor for a few days and it worked out well. The bed was very comfortable, the studio was very clean, the kitchen very functional, the bathroom had a wonderful shower with a tub although you need to be somewhat limber to get in and out. It was quiet for the first week, but then the bar downstairs opened ..! Being use to a very quiet home in the states, the noise of a big city (garbage trucks, motorcyles) was a little difficult for me, but the comfort of the studio more than made up for it. Literally right around the corner is absolutely everything you need to fullfill a dream vacation-the cheese store & bakery/pastry store is not to be missed-and I didn't miss hardly one day! The best place? The balcony, which is where I spent every morning and every evening. Lots of sunshine every morning until late afternoon.

My fiancee' and I had a great weekend in Paris staying at this apartment. The owners were very helpful in getting us situated in their perfect little Parisien flat. The place was clean, well furnished, quiet, and the balcony was a true plus with views. Rue de Brentagne, right around the corner, has everything you need to get a great "locals" experience. The bistros, bread store, butcher, wine shop, cheese store, fruit stand, seafood store and general grocery story - were all exactly what we wanted, so we found the location to be perfect for us and will definitely be returning.

There are great sites we could not miss in Paris, but what made our feeling of Paris were the little details. This lovely studio in Marais we stayed, definitely contributed to the charm of Paris. The studio looked as described and it benefits e great location. What you can't see before arrive are all the tasteful decorations which create the unique Parisian feeling of it. Clean, with lift and The several locked doors make you feel safe; equipped with a lift, what is very convenient; very clean. You find all the Parisian essentials - the bakery, the wine store and the cheese store literary just around the corner. Guy, the owner, provided a lot of handy information before we got there, but there was more waiting for us in the studio... I already recommended the studio to all my friends and I'll post it on my Facebook. I think it is obvious, that next time in Paris we are staying the same address. :)

My husband and I booked this apartment for 4 nights in October, 2010. We loved it....it was absolutely charming. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating so we weren't able to take full advantage of the little balcony...maybe next time! The apartment was nice and clean and the bed was comfortable. We really appreciated the lift since the apartment is on the 5th floor. Our host, Guy, was delightful, very friendly and helpful.

This ideally located apartment was perfectly situated for our first Paris visit. It is located on a quiet street in the vibrant Marais district. Everything you need is close at hand, including a fun outdoor market, Marche des Enfants Rouges. The apartment was a welcome retreat after a busy day of touring this fabulous city. We made good use of the small balcony. Ideal for one person and quite adequate for a couple. Although guidebooks and other tourist information was in the apartment, we made good use of The Paris Mapguide (easier to manage than a large city map). Metro system was convenient and easy to figure out. Our only regret is that we were not able to meet Guy as he was out of town during our visit.

The apartment is perfect for one or two people and is conveniently situated in a quiet yet active neighborhood. The Metro and bus are only two-three short blocks, groceries, the open-air market and cafes are all within steps of this great little place. Guy was great to work with and is a warm and wonderful host, making sure we had all the information we needed - especially like their "surviving in the area" guide! This is a great apartment, with everything you need for a great time in Paris. The kitchen is fully equipped, as is the bathroom, and there is a great folding European clothes-drying rack in the closet that you can set up if you need to. The bed-side reading lights on both sides of the bed are great. The apt. is very light and cheerful, and in a great neighborhood. This apartment was so convenient and relaxing that it made us feel very much "at home" during our visit to Paris. This apartment was great. It's in an excellent, quiet location. It was our first time staying in the Marais and we loved it. It is perfect for a couple. The maps and other tourist guides came in very handy as did all the kitchen supplies. Guy and Jean were very helpful. I would not recommend it for anyone with limited mobility however as the tub/shower is quite awkward to get in and out of.

This apartment was wonderful! It exceeded all of our expectations. My husband and I are not seasoned travelers in fact this was my husband's first time of out Australia and he is in his 60s. Guy and Jean made us feel so welcome and just could not do enough to make us feel welcome. They provided all the information we needed to get ourselves around and even knocked on the door a couple of times to make sure everything was o.k. and that we had everything we needed. We fell in love with Paris! The city, the people, the sites. We especially enjoyed the location of the apartment. Very easy walking distance to restaurants,shops and the Metro. The balcony....so romantic to absorb the atmosphere of the neighborhood. We had the " Best Crepes in the Universe" at the Covered Market on Rue de Bretagne. A fun dinner our first night at Les Philosophes....yummy Creme Brulee. A very romantic memorable dinner at the Auberge Nicolas Flamel located in a building that will celebrate being 600 yrs. old this December. Guy and Jean Michel are the nicest people and so helpful with any questions that we came up with. We would highly recommend this sunny wonderful apartment! I spent 8 days in this apartment in mid-April. The apartment was beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Guy and Jean Michel were incredibly helpful and friendly. We celebrated our 29th anniversary in Paris and stayed at this apartment for 7 glorious days. The apartment, location, everything in the neighborhood were perfect for our needs. I stayed at the apartment around the New Years holiday. The apartment is bright, cheerful and in a safe location. There is an elevator, which is great after walking around Paris. You're not far from supermarkets, pastry shops, restaurants, and other stores. The metro isn't that far either. Guy and Jean Michel reside upstairs on sixth floor and are available if needed. Guy and Jean are very nice. Paris is a beautiful city.

We are just back from our second stay in the studio on the rue de Saintonge. The apartment was as charming and immaculate as we remembered. Guy and Jean Michel made us, once again, feel more like guests than renters. The quiet location two steps from a thriving street of shops and cafes and convenient to metro and bus couldn't be better. The Christmas pastries at Fougasse and the blini and smoked salmon from local markets made our holiday extra special. I stayed 5 days solo in December for a last minute trip and the apt surpassed my expectations. The studio was so comfortable that I had to be careful to not spend too much time inside and I enjoyed using the balcony, even in the winter. This was our second stay at Guy and Jean's studio apartment.We didn't want to leave. Since our last stay, Guy has put together a booklet with local shops and restaurants and places to see and how to get around Paris. This apartment is a wonderful slice of Parisian life! My husband and I spent our honeymoon here, and couldn't have been happier with the apartment, the neighborhood, and the landlords. Guy and Jean-Michel were warm and welcoming hosts, providing guide books and a special booklet that they made about the local shops in the neighborhood - including maps, directions, and opening hours. The apartment is everything you see in the pictures, absolutely charming decor! Le Marais is a beautiful historic district, filled with upscale boutiques, delicious cafes, and shady green parks. The apartment is a lovely 15-20 minute walk from the Seine and Notre Dame,and about a 5 minute walk to the nearest Metro stop, which will take you all over town! Guy and Jean-Michel are so helpful with any questions you have about getting around, and they are interesting and funny people to talk with. We are so happy that we stayed here instead of a hotel, and we are telling all of our friends who would visit Paris in the future to contact Guy and Jean-Michel about this fabulous apartment. I've been to Paris four or five times now, and this is by far the nicest place I've stayed in the city. It is in the heart of the Marais, clean, cheerful, and full of light. The clincher is the balcony, which is just big enough to sit on for breakfast or for a drink at the end of the day, and which has a great view up and down he street - especially to the south, where the dome of the Pantheon is perfectly framed by the buildings on each side of the street. Guy & Jean-Michel, the owners, are charming and friendly. I would on future trips be heavily influenced in my choice of when to come to Paris by the periods in which this apartment might be available.

We stayed at the apartment on the last leg of our honeymoon trip and it was the most amazing way to finish. You cant beat the location and the wonderful local atmosphere. A great place and a wonderful first visit to Paris. Jean Michel and Guy's apartment is in an extremely convenient location -- just off of Rue de Bretagne, where you can find a great bakery, a market, and all kinds of other shops, within a two minute walk of the apartment. As other guests have mentioned, many, many of the great sites of Paris are an easy walk or a short Metro ride from Rue de Saintonge. The apartment is cozy and has a very comfortable bed. It was a pleasure to get to know Guy and Jean Michel. Without being at all intrusive, they were extremely helpful -- and they know the area very well. I took my grand-daughter to Paris for her 16th birthday and we just returned home. At first when she chose Paris I was a little reluctant but after much communication with Guy et Jean Michel I felt comfortable to make the trip. I am so happy we went, it was a wonderful experience for both of us and at no time were we disappointed. We found Parisians most congenial and helpful, not speaking French did not present a problem. Upon arrival Guy greeted us and we instantly fell in love with the apartment, it is bright, cheery, clean and the balcony is just superb. The elevator is much appreciated after a long walk and being on the 5th floor provided additonal security. The Marais is a wonderful area to stay in, it's close to everything, in a safe area, and an excellent place to shop and eat. You can easily walk to Notre Dame, the Louve, and many other places of interest. We walked to the Seine and took the Batobus the first two days, then we tackled the Metro which turned out to be very easy to navigate all over Paris. With Guy's assistance we took the train to Versaille which was just amazing. The apartment has everything you need, the tub is very inviting after a long busy day with much walking. Any questions or concerns were quickly addressed by Guy or Jean Michel, it was so reassuring to have them available. I would definately recommend a trip to Paris and to stay at Guy and Jean Michel's apartment on Rue de Saintonge. We hope in the future we can return to Paris, we know where we will stay. Also, my daughter would like to thank Guy et Jean Michel for assisting Jessie to call her every night, it was greatly appreciated. Just another example of their great hospitality. an apartment is only as good as its landlords, and beleive me, you have got the best of both worlds here! everything that has been said is true..if you have never stayed in the 3rd, check this out! aside from two of the nicest guys you will ever meet, you will live in a great part of paris, and stay in a clean and comfortable apartment..a REAL winner!!!

Comment Text: The apartment's location, amenities and safety makes this the perfect place to live like locals. Shops offering everything from wine, to cheese to fresh fish as well as the best roasted chicken on the planet are steps from the front door. Its balcony large enough for wine, desserts and morning coffee offers a great view of the Parthenon. Guy and Jean Michel are the finest of hosts. This was our second of many visits to "our apartment in the Marais"

All the praise that previous guests have entered in the guestbook for this studio apartment and the landlords, Guy and Jean-Michel, is more than warranted. The cheery apartment is indeed great accomodation for a couple, the street a peaceful oasis in a lively quarter of Paris, and Guy and Jean- Michel could not be warmer or more concerned to ensure the best possible experience for their renters. The medium-firm bed is great for travelers with back issues (not always so common in Europe) and the apartment is kept impeccably clean. Top marks in all areas. We have already made our plans for a return stay.

We had a lovely stay on rue Saintonge in late September. Jean-Michel and Guy could not have been more accomodating, and the apartment was comfortable and a great value. We enjoyed the neighborhood, especially the market and shops, and there were many good restaurants in walking distance.

My wife and I spent a week in the apartment last March while on vacation. It was a wonderful experience. Guy and Jean Michele were tremendous hosts. The apartment is the perfect size for a couple. It is nothing luxurious, but provides everything that you could need for a week stay in Paris. The location is great as well. Highly recommended.

We had the pleasure of staying in this beautiful apartment during our two week honeymoon in Paris. Guy and Jean Michele were wonderful hosts and the apartment was everything and more than we could have imagined. It was very well equiped for nights we chose to eat in, clean, comfortable and the balcony just perfect for enjoying a glass of wine as the sun went down. You will really appreciate the tub after a day of walking the streets of Paris! The neighbourhood was very charming and after having visited Paris before and staying in other areas, my preference will always be the Marais. We will stay here again when we return to Paris. Whether it is your first time in this wonderful city or a return trip, I highly recommend this comfortable apartment in a wonderful neighbourhood.
