If you are looking for a spacious, clean, safe and great location for a family trip, then you should consider this unit. This newer condo is located in a very nice condo development. The complex is very secure and gated. Never once had to wait for guards to let us in, contrary to other review. There are three nice pools (we spent all our time at beaches) but these pools are great for little kids. The hot tub wasn't hot though, which kinda bummed me out, when I attempted to use it one evening. My husband and kids had fun playing basketball, and there is a nice workout room too. Bedrooms are big, kitchen is nice and roomy, lots of counter space, washer and dryer is very handy, balcony overlooks marina, nice place to hang out, and tv area is nice too. The locale is super. We did a day trip snorkeling to Icacos Island with the Spread Eagle boat, which is literally across street at marina, just walked over, super easy. The ferry to Culebra is just down the road. There are also a number of great restaurants near by too. The Seven Seas Beach is a quick drive too. We spent two whole days at Playa Escondido and El Convento, these are very private beaches that you get to by walking 25minutes through the woods, just beyond Seven Seas Beach. Worth the walk! We also went to Culebra to Playa Flamenco, another must do. We had rented a car (highly recommend)so we also explored Luquillo and Old San Juan. Traffic is a little frustrating, but if you take toll road 66, it gets you back and forth between San Juan and Fajardo quicker than staying on route 3. We will definitely return, we have to go to rainforest and explore other side of island next time.

After my experience in Puerto Rico this time around, I can definitely say that it is by far my favorite island. My 5 year old son enjoyed it so much that he wants to buy a house and mover there :-) The condo is as described, perfect location, and definitely the best resort style condo in Fajardo. It is in close proximity to everything--beaches, Walmart, supermarket, restaurants, movie theater. Our family felt very comfortable and safe. The complex grounds were very well kept. We enjoyed all 3 pools, especially the one with the slide. The owner was a pleasure to deal with; extremely helpful and attentive. The key holder was very sweet. I would definitely stay here again and will be recommending to friends/family.

the condo is close to the entrance and is located on the ground floor. The place was very clean and we immediately felt comfortable. It is definitely as described on the website. The complex is also well maintained. There are three pool, a gym, a tennis court and half a basketball court. The area is safe and is a walking distance from local food places and shops. The locals are also friendly. The owner and key holder were also very friendly and helpful in giving directions and recommending activities. I would definitely come back to this condo!

If the tenant enters the complex from the parking lot it will give an impression that the unit is located at the ground level. Actually the condo located one floor higher then the ground floor when you walk out to the terrace - the unit below is a garden unit and our unit is located directly above it. Pena Mar Ocean Club is the the BEST resort style condo development in the East of Puerto Rico which features the amenities compared to other more expensive luxury resorts in the area. Our tenants definitely enjoy the savings when staying with parties larger then 3, which hotel charge extra for. We also do not charge service fees, taxes nor we charge extra for days that fall on holidays. As an added bonus we provide discounts for last minute stays. We had a wonderful spring break with our 3 children age 10,12 and 14. Condo is clean , comfortable and spacious.Pena mar is very secure and safe, the guards were very friendly and accommodating . Pools ,workout facility, basketball court were great.very close to ferrys, Marinas,beaches,rainforest and shopping .cable tv and Internet worked great as well as all the appliances , ....nice to go home with clean clothes and happy kids

I saw the 3 star review from the previous tenant.. All I have to say is the place is great. there was towels when I got there and there is no need to cook food is cheap very close and you can stack up on snacks, just my opinion.. There I rented last minute and Alex (Owner) was very helpful, infact to helpful! His contact Alicia (key Holder) was great and explained everything to me before going, they both went out of the way! But who cares! you want to know about the place right? well it was great! they had great security and they were there all the time. I did notice that at night they took alittle longer than usual but if its that secure you cant get in I say its a plus! Security staff was the freindliest I have seen! Pool was amazing but who goes to PR to see pools right? beaches are very near and the ferry to Vieques and culebra is super close! food wise! well there is a little shack about a 5min walk which I dont think is wise since the roads are filled with crazy drivers but in a car it was less then 45 seconds seriously! they show you the fresh caught fish before cooking it and they had the best stuffed arepas I have ever had! two blocks away is alittle sandwich shop that they speak english and serve the best sandwiches I have had to date, for breakfast sandwiches! I paid 5 bucks for a foot long fresh baked bread ham cheese and potatoe cheese sanwich that was amazing! there bakery suger goods were awsome! I do sugesst you hit up a store and buy beer, alcohol and sodas and water before you go to your condo so your ready! I made this trip to get closer to my ex girlfreind to see if she is the one I want to marry all I have to say is this vacation sure brought us closer and made things clear! I sugest staying here 100%!!!!!!!

Great Place at the great price!!!!

Our family really enjoyed the condo. We didn’t feel that we lacked anything at all. It had all the amenities and the price was great! It was conveniently located around all the major points of interests on the East side of Puerto Rico. There is a really good open air bar/restaurant right across the street called La Ola where we spend few evenings just kicking back having few drink and munching on local flare h’orederves. The owner recommended this place and we really liked it. The fact the place is by the beach gives totally new definitions to outdoor dining once you find yourself laying back under the palm trees and hearing the waves crashing nearby. There is also a pool right next to the bar which can be used to cool yourself if you get overheated or have few too many drinks. Little drive down the road you can find the perfectly secluded beach where you will never find more than 10 people (mostly locals) – right next to the entrance to the Nature Preserve. The owner recommended it and it turned out to be perfect. Bring the lounge chairs (were in the condo) throw them in the water and pop few beers open. My family and I were in paradise!!! Thank you. Our family really enjoyed staying in your condo! I hope we can come back some time again.

Great vacation!

First, yes to Puerto Rico! It is a great place to take the family and we loved our time there. We rent vacation homes two times a year as we have 4 children so we have rented many homes. This wasn't the worst and it wasn't the best. It is a cute condo inside a gated community in Fajardo which is a great place. The pool is nice and we found it to be very convenient to get to San Juan and other parts of the island. The condo met our basic needs, however, on three separate days we had to sit and wait at the security gates to be let in to the complex. This was very inconvenient! We tried to work around the schedule when the guard would not be in the gate, but the times they weren't there kept changing. Additionally, the kitchen is not well stocked for families who want to eat in the condo. There is a blender and some pots and pans, but no cooking sheets, pyrex, etc. Additionally, the coffee pot was broken and there were no washcloths. It takes several days to get things corrected when you are there (ie a new coffee pot that was cracked when we opened it) and to be honest, the owner upset us by basically telling us he was doing us a favor by getting us washcloths when towels are supposed to be included. Not something we wanted to hear and we felt like he was arguing with us which we didn't want to hear on our vacation. We just wanted coffee and washcloths! One other thing - you will be doing dishes on your vacation as the dishwasher does not work. With 4 kids that is not something we enjoyed! In essence we loved the vacation. I won't rent this condo again, but we will absolutely be returning to Puerto Rico! LOVED IT!!! So don't hesitate to vacation on this lovely island where the surroundings and the people are amazing!

We try to make every attempt to make sure your stay is a pleasant one by going out of our way to satisfy every tenants need even those we are not contractually obligated to provide. There are specific items we do not provide simply because those are the items of personal hygiene such as wash cloths or sponges or tooth brushes. Replacing these items for every tenant is costly, therefore we rely on our tenants to know what they will need during their travel. The dishwasher usage is explained in the contract. All this was clearly spelled out in a contract which you have agreed to by signing. Thank you for staying with us as well as for your review.

The condo was very nice, the pools were excellent. We were there attending a graduation for the Universidad Central el Caribe Medical School. Although it rained most of the time, we were able to revisit the ElMorro Fort and the Rain Forest, as well as take a bioluminescnt kayak trip. Wendy

I stayed at this Condo in Fajardo, PR with my 86 year old mother, brother and his wife. My brother and I took my mom on vacation to her native Island. So, to say the least we were a bit concern on how she would acclimate and if the condo would accommodate her needs. We were totally beyond pleased with the condo's cleanliness, accessibility for her disabled needs such as wide doors, location on the 1st floor with a ramp. It was so easy for her to get around, I was impressed. The location of this condo is so ideal, I was jealous that it wasn't mine. It is located near the most beautiful beaches in PR, a skip & a hop to the Ferry and very safe with security guards at entry point of the condos. The pools were wonderful, geared towards families with children as well, as singles and couples. The fitness center was well kept and safe. I truly can't say enough about this condo. I highly recommend it and I will be staying at this location on my next vacation. It's idea for couples, family and anyone. And, of course my mom's wish was fulfill, she was very happy that she got to go to PR. Oh, I might add that there are 2 medical centers about 7-8 minutes up the street. That even made us more at ease knowing that if mom needed anything it was so close. I like to end with I wish it were mine... however, I Thank the owner for being so generous and sharing his vacation home! I rate it Outstanding!!

I really enjoyed my adventures away from San Juan. We had a great deal, this was awesome for the price. I want to thank the owners for our great time, please don't cheat yourself and try to go with the cheapest deal, you will get it. Must do's- Cataraman- Had fun with Paco, Angela and Miguel with Travelers services, they had great snorkeling. Went to Culebra Island, suggest taking a private charter if you can, much more to see of the island than when you get off the boat and the taxi ride to the beach. Keep in mind, restrooms are a commodity here. Beach was pretty. I was told later to go to Vieques Island, much nicer. Check out El Conquistador Hotel and casino, neat, loved the marina bar. Of course Rain Forest. Must rent a car, but watch the roads and drivers. The owners are wonderful, very helpful and couldn't have asked for a better stay. Condo was clean and very nice. loved the pools. Great to have a washer/dryer. Bring some beach towels, which we had. Whatever you need, is up the street at the local Walmart. The Family and I enjoyed this trip very much! We just got back from a week long vacation that was too short. There are many things to do in Fajardo especially ocean sports and nature activities. I highly suggest you rent a car since public transportation is very unreliable and taxi service will ruin your day. Plan your activies before arriving. Many locals although very friendly, are not always aware of tourist activities. The must things to do are; Bio Bay Kayaking. Make sure it is on the least moon full day. Shines better the darker the night. Take a ferry and go to Culebra Island and spend a day Snorklin and another day for Flamenco Beach. Palominito Island is also a must. Deep sea fishing trip was exciting but exhausting after so much reelin! Horseback riding in El Yunque was relaxing. Dinner at Passion Por el Fogon.. a must (down the street from the apartment)! Take a drive to Old San Juan but avoid the early morning and afternoon rush. Many things to see in the historic city and museums to visit. The apartment was squeeky clean and smells new. The apartment did not have beach towels. The facilities were great and in new condition. It was very quiet and the guards friendly. I suggest you request one additional houskeeping service "cleaning" if your stay is a long one, you'd rather spend your time out and about. Overall a great vacation where we relaxed and had family fun...

We stayed in Pena Mar Ocean Club, Fajardo in December and had the best time of our lives. The condo was spacious and clean. Pena Mar Ocean Club has 3 pools, hot tub, tennis court, gym, free parking, 24/7 security and great view. It felt very secluded, it felt at we had the whole condo development to ourselves. You can sit all day at the terrace and watch boat go in and out of the marina across the street. No crowds of San Juan, great local restaurants, nature of El Yenke, Bio Bay tours, Boat rentals, and easy access to Culebra, they call it Puerto Rican Virgin Islands. We will definitely come here again.
