As with most houses on the Outer Banks, we rent from Saturday to Saturday (during the high season), but we do offer partial weekly rentals during the shoulder and off season:
You'll love the easy walk to the beach with lifeguards on duty during the season . Inside, comfortable and colorful furniture, a carefully selected collection of artwork, and plenty of games and amusements make Mermaid Tales a delightful home-away-from-home for your vacation.
The ground entry level has a bedroom (2 single twins and bunk beds), laundry room with high efficiency washer and dryer, full bath and a spacious den/game room with wet bar that gives easy access to the pool. Mid-level has a master bedroom with full bath and deck access, plus two more bedrooms, and another full bath.
The upper level has a master bedroom with full bath and private deck. A light and airy great room with a gas fireplace, an enclosed porch, and gourmet kitchen with large countertop space for 6 bar stools. And, who wouldn't love an office/quiet area with a view? For anyone looking to telecommute from the beach, Mermaid Tales is equipped with a cable modem and Wireless Internet Access. Bring your laptop - they'll never know you're checking email from the pool!

We can not tell you what a wonderful house this is. We had the most relaxing time just being in the house. Beautiful, quiet, peaceful grounds and the house put together as if for friends, not strangers. The owner has thought of our every need and comfort. The house, location, restaurants, beach and shopping were exactly what we wanted. Everything was so accessible. We couldn't have imagined anything better! We have been vacationing in Corolla for years and by far, this is the best house we have ever stayed in. It is easy to see that the owner wants to share their home with you. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed including a kitchen that had all the extras we needed to cook whatever we wanted. The pool is big and had all types of rafts and water chairs to relax in.... and relax we did! We had five of our adult kids with us and our granddaughter and if you have young children, it is like a kids paradise. Playhouses, carts, bikes, everything a child could want. Although it is a couple blocks from the beach, it was an easy walk to the access point and if you have a truck like us, you can fill the back with chairs and park in the public lot next to the access. We had a wonderful week with our kids and would recommend this house to anyone!!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
