Returning to "our little piece of paradise" is truly like "coming home"! This compact, perfectly appointed condo is unique: artfully decorated by owner, who is always helpful, never intrusive. A stone's throw from our large lanai to the lake, and a few minutes' walk, through lush greenery to the wonderful private beach. Best of all worlds: birdwatching, fishing, swimming, dolphin-sighting, and gathering with friends for sunset toasts on the pier! Winters of 2012, and 2013 were wonderful, and we can't wait to return in 2014.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway.

My husband and I stayed here for 2 months while renovating our own home. We loved the unit, and the location! Although small, the unit is very well thought out and has plenty of space and closets for your things. It's very clean and nicely updated! The fishing pier and beach are wonderful to view the beautiful Siesta Key sunsets, and then you can walk to The Village for dinner at any one of the many restaurants! Or go shopping! Ellen was a wonderful hostess, and we enjoyed meeting her! You will enjoy your stay here! Oh, it's also on the ground floor, so no stairs to climb!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I have known the owner over a long period of time and rented this unit for 6 months in 2007. She is an attentive, responsive and caring host for all of her guests. Our accomodations were superb and allowed us the opportunity to make the transition from "city life" to absorption in the beauty found in every form of nature there. The unit was clean, had been updated as depicted in the photos and filled all of our expectations for comfortable and convenient living on the freshwater lagoon just off the patio--perfect for swimming! As part of this unique development we spent our time observing the wildlife--owls, rabbits and squirrels, enjoying the lush tropical foliage that creates complete resident privacy, trekking the short distance on the grounds to the best fishing pier in the entire county, watching the Dolphins and Manatees that play in the channel, using the private beach where Herons, Egrets, Pelicans and other birds flock to feed and just "hang out", watching the sailboats silelntly make their way in and out of the bay, looking for the "green flash" just before the sun retires in a spectacular exit. A vast selection of restaurants, plays, shows, exhibits and museums were ours to enjoy and were only a short distance away. However, TV was not a priority because we were too busy enjoying our surroundings and this precious piece of paradise as we know it. We would highly recommend it to anyone who prefers the extraordinary--not the ordinary. It's wonderful!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays in this unit the past several years! The pictures exactly reflect the condo. Porches in the front and the back, with the back one overlooking the condo pond. The unit is small, but well-maintained and a good price for the beautiful location. The owner is very friendly as are neighboring owners, who were very helpful to us. Gorgeous bathroom! Great storage in the bedroom. We regularly see herons and egrets--even feeding them. Short drive (or bus ride!) into Sarasota where lots of cultural activities are available. We were often the only ones on the private beach, which is on Big Pass--the main channel into Sarasota. Daily dolphin sightings, spectacular sunsets....can't ask for much more of pure Florida!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I stayed at this villa for a month in July. The location is paradise, with a private beach. One could not want for anything more. The village is within walking distance and there are a variety of restaurants and live music. Every night, I saw dolphins swimming in the bay from the private beach. Fishing was also wonderful. The Villa is cozy and has all the amenities that one would need. It is stocked with dishes, toweled, and even books and music. The owner, Ellen was very accommodating. I enjoyed my month in paradise.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed in this property for 4 weeks this year ( 2011 ). The location is excellent , close to Siesta Village, with access to a private beach and fishing pier. The condo itself however is very tired and dated and needs updating. We experienced several problems upon arriving at the unit, the kitchen units were not very clean with drawers sticking, the iron provided did not work, the kettle was old and rusted, ( we bought a new iron and kettle ourselves) the tiny TV in the bedroom did not work, the DVD player did not work, the small old TV in the living area had not been switched over to digital by the owner and as a result we could not receive all the availiable channels. The towels and bed linens were old and worn. We expected there to be a washer and dryer on the premises, however they are both located outside the unit and are shared by other neighbours. The outside sitting area has no lania and as such we found it impossible to sit outside of an evening due to the amount of biting insects. The owner was not on site for the first week or so and as such problems were not easily resolved. When she did arrive the TV in the bedroom was replaced, and in our final week we had all TV channels availiable. She also gaves us a 25% discount on our rental. We have been renting in Siesta Key for 18 years and are sorry to say that for the first time in all those years we did not experience the usual fantastic hospitality of which Americans are justifiably proud and would not recommend this property.Owner response: I found the review from Scotland to be grossly unfair. I have been renting this villa for 11 years and this is the first renter that has been anything but delighted. The villa was cleaned by a professional company before their arrival. My partner was onsite from the day they arrived and responded to every request promptly. Someone had broken the remote on the bedroom TV so I installed a new TV set for them the next day. The DVD cable was re-attached the same day they told us it was not working. The review intimates that the TV channels were lost for weeks but they were actually reinstated the same morning they were lost. ( Comcast will attest to it). I also never advertised that there was a screened in lanai. I did however, in response to their comments, install an new large flat screen TV in the main room!
