Come enjoy the magical and cosmic space of the beautiful Mojave Desert. This ranchette sits on 2.5 acres and is an easy 7 minutes from the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. This quiet and very private desert country home is fully furnished and is decorated in a Moroccan-Contemporary style by the artist/owner. It is only 3 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree but feels like your miles away from the world once you nestle into the super cozy compound.
The home comes with one king size bed. The second bedroom has a full sized bed with a memory foam mattress. There is dining/sitting room with wood burning stove, one bathroom, and a wrap around porch with couches, gas barbecue and very large charcoal barbecue and fire-pit. The full kitchen comes with a solid stock of spices, dry staples and condiments on hand to share.
The property is fully fenced so your little furry friends are safe to run around. There are automatic entry gates so you don't even have to get out of the car to enter the compound!!! The grounds are lushly landscaped with hundreds of oleanders, Joshua trees, pine trees, pink peppers, Palo Verdes, desert willows, olive, pistachio, almond, plum, Chinese pears, peaches, pomegranates and more!! There is rose garden that sits off the master bedroom, so you can enjoy the lovely variety of scents. The newly added olive orchard and grape vine veranda make a perfect place to dine!!
The sunrises will invigorate and excite you and the stargazing will calm and inspire you. The property abounds with wildlife like jackrabbits and cottontails, roadrunners, lizards and dozens of quails that spend their nights roosting in the trees. There are also heaps of doves and hummingbirds.
World famous Joshua Tree National Park is nearby (1 mile to the Visitor's Center), for rock climbing, hiking, and touring. The town of Joshua Tree has several eating establishments, a health food store, visitor's center for the Park, outdoor equipment & climbing suppliers, art galleries, a saloon, and gift shops.
In the nearby town of Yucca Valley you will find a cinema, more restaurants, and antique shopping. The Twenty-nine Palms Inn has an excellent poolside restaurant on a desert oasis, only 20 min. away. Also worth visiting is historic old west Pioneertown, as well as Pappy and Harriet's Saloon, for fine barbecue eating, and great live music.
Joshua Tree also has 2 music festivals, held over a three-day period every May and October - the Joshua Tree Music Festival, and the Joshua Tree Roots Music Festival. So check them out, and stay at the Magical Cottage when you come to enjoy the music.
