9 Brigantine - Second Row 8 BR / 8 BA with Direct Ocean View
- Minimum stay:Contact manager
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
This beautiful home is a "second row" home with floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean and is directly across from the beach. The home’s front porch and two balconies allow direct views of the ocean.
The home features eight bedrooms: four master suites with king beds, one junior suite with a queen bed, two rooms have two twin beds each, and the eighth room has a queen bed and two twin beds. All of the master suites have walk-in showers, TVs, and abundant closet space. Two of the master suites also have jetted tubs.
The first floor’s open plan starts with a large, bright open foyer with floor to ceiling window. Directly to the right is the main living room. If you walk through the dining room, you will enter a "wing" of the house that contains two of the four master bedrooms.
Also off the living room is a gourmet kitchen featuring a stainless steel Viking cook top, two dishwashers, and plentiful custom cabinetry. The kitchen also features a wine cooler and a double oven.
The adjoining dining room seats 10 people comfortably with stools to seat additional people at the two "bars" encircling the kitchen on either end. From the dining room, you can go directly to the enclosed deck that overlooks the expansive pool and hot tub. The enclosed, screened-in deck, which has two fans overhead, also features an oversized picnic table which seats at least 12 people. There is also a volume control that is connected to the sound system upstairs allowing you to listen to your music while you sit outside. This enclosed deck leads to an open air deck with a table for five and a gas grill – perfect for your barbeque.
On the other side of the dining room is the laundry room, an armoire with a TV, and a full sized bathroom. As you complete the circle back to the main foyer, are two additional bedrooms joined by a “jack and jill” bathroom. Each of these rooms has two twin beds.
Off the foyer are the open stairs to the second floor. At the top of the stairs is the first bedroom with a queen-sized bed and an unattached bath and a second bedroom with is a master suite. As you continue on the second floor you enter the open loft which overlooks the kitchen and the living room. The loft contains an entertainment center with a TV, stereo system (plays to the outdoor speakers),a seating area and the queen-sized sleeper sofa. On the other side of the loft is the second upstairs Master Suite and the bedroom with the Queen and two Twin beds, TV, and private bath.
The ground floor has an enclosed deck with table tennis, bar with barstools, microwave, refrigerator, and a flat-screen TV. It also contains a 2 car garage and custom built storage space for beach equipment and golf clubs.
The pool can be accessed from the ground floor through the enclosed area or from the steps leading from the outside deck upstairs. The pool is a free-flowing oversized pool with an attached hot-tub. There is also a traditional brick fireplace and grill pool side that is the perfect place for an evening fire or outdoor barbecue.
An outdoor shower with hot and cold water is the perfect way to wash off after a day at the beach. There are two ways to get to the beach from our home, directly via the path leading from our pool at the back of our house, or via the path at the center of Brigantine from the front of the house. Either is a short walk to the beautiful beaches of Palmetto Dunes.

Other than being disappointed that the air conditioning was not fully operational until Thursday everything was fine. In other respects 9 brigantine lived up to our expectations. For such a large number of people a second refrigerator is almost a necessity. KTRecommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Katy - thank you for your comments. We too were disappointed to learn that the air conditioning was not fully operational and we worked to make sure that our HVAC service company responded quickly to remedy the condition. Also, thanks for your suggestion regarding a second refridgerator. We look forward to having you visit again!

We decided to rent 9 Brigantine for Spring Break 2013. Our son, a junior at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, drove down with 4 of his college friends and we also had our daughter, who is at Emory University during an internship. The house worked perfectly for this college crew. The "boys" needed space from my wife and I so they wouldn't feel chaperoned and our daughter, who graduated from college a couple of years ago, needed space from the boys. The many bedrooms gave us the space all needed. We used the heated pool extensively, with the hot tub area a particular hit. Twice we grilled out, using the built-in charcoal grills. The beach is just down a path and it is a cinch to get to the main part of the village. The kitchen was the center of activity, as you would imagine from a college spring break crew, and we were able to serve meals comfortably. We told the college kids that "meals came with the house." When the boys went out at night, we barely worried, knowing that the island is easy to navigate. The only quibble with the house is that there is no central "game area" and the living room was sacrificed slightly for a sizeable kitchen and more bedrooms. We might have cut a bedroom and given more living space or renovated the downstairs so it truly is a game room. Having said this, everyone loved the house overall and we would recommend it highly to folks desiring space and convenience.Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers.

Great house for large family vacation! We loved the openness of the floor plan and all the windows. The kitchen was large and had plenty of seating. The large picnic on the screened porch was great! It could have used an additional large refrigerator to accommodate the number of people the house sleeps. We used the wine refrigerator and coolers for extras. The basement area was great for those of us who enjoyed staying up late playing ping pong and corn hole but the TV downstairs had been removed. It really is a short walk to the beach and fairly level if you use the beach walk off Brigantine. We really enjoyed our time at 9 Brigantine.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

We stayed at this property last weekend for a friends wedding and had the best time! We had 19 people staying in the house, 8 couples and 3 single ladies and we had PLENTY of room! Almost every couple had their own bedroom and bathroom which is typically unheard of within this price range! The location was perfect (right across from the beach), the house was in excellent condition and the pool and basement area were great for helping us all spread out. I would highly recommend this house to any large party needing a place to stay and hopefully we will be able to come back again someday!Recommended for: Families with young children, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so happy that you enjoyed your time in our home. You are welcome back any time!

We have stayed in Palmetto Dunes many times over the years and this is the best house by far that we have ever stayed in! The house was exactly as advertised and was spotless and well-prepared for our arrival. The layout was great for our extended family. The 4 master bedroom suites accomodated our family perfectly and enabled the kids to share most of the other rooms. The best parts were the screened in picnic table (where we ate nearly all of our meals) and the gourmet kitchen. It was great to eat outdoors while the kids swam in the pool. The pool was much bigger than any of the other Hilton Head pools we have seen. The beach was only 200 steps away on a easily walkable pathway. The beach in front of Brigantine was clean and quiet with plenty of room to spread out our stuff. The bar area downstairs was a perfect place to relax after a round of golf and the kids loved the ping pong table. We also took full advantage of the 2 hours of daily free tennis on the nearby clay courts and the men enjoyed the discounted green fees for golf that came along with the rental. We will definitely stay here when we return to Hilton Head and would absolutely recommend it to friends and families! My only fear is that once word gets out about this house, we will have to book our vacation years in advance to reserve our weekly vacation.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, tourists without a car.
