Turtle Crossing Ranch is a privately owned, 40 acre ranch with equestrian, golf and archery facilities in a pristine desert setting close to the West Entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. Enjoy absolute privacy and tranquility where you can sing as loud as you want -- the jack rabbits, coyotes and desert tortoises may hear you, but they won't complain!

A golf cart path meanders through the ranch, making it ideal for baby strollers or for individuals that require more solid footing when rambling. Turtle Crossing Ranch is close to the village of Joshua Tree (2.5 miles of hard top road) for conveniences, but when you are on the ranch, you will feel as if you are the only person on the planet. It's peaceful and rejuvenating.

If your travels take you to Joshua Tree, Twentynine Palms, Palm Springs; or if you are driving from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, and wish to take the roads less traveled, Turtle Crossing Ranch is a perfect half way stop between those two great cities.

We almost couldn't leave after a weekend that was both invigorating and relaxing. Perfectly situated for a visit to Joshua Tree National Park, the ranch is conveniently very close (mostly paved road) to the Joshua Tree "city center" and the westerly park entrance, while also offering the privacy and quiet of a secluded hideaway with panoramic views. The guest house is exactly as described and photographed, and it is, indeed, extra clean. We watched stunning sunrises, sunsets, and starry, starry nights in the cozy fire pit. The hosts are the most friendly, helpful, accommodating folks, and the dogs and horses are charming, charming too. Highly recommended.

Recently stayed for 3 nights at this guest house. The house was incredibly clean (my wife even commented, which is a first for her). It was a cozy fit for our family of 5 and very convenient to Joshua Tree NP where we spent most of our days. We came here for the outdoors, but hey, we're city folks and the satellite TV for kids while dinner was being prepared and wireless internet for e-mail at night was greatly appreciated. Everything worked, the owners are extremely nice and accommodating and I wouldn't hesitate a second recommending this place to someone else!

My wife and I had a wonderful few days at Turtle Crossing Ranch. I thought the description on the website was accurate and found communication with the owners prior to our visit fast and easy. Our accommodation was neat, clean, comfortable, well maintained and charmingly furnished. I loved the clean, dry air, the clear, starry nights, the early morning horse riding and a little golfing practise. We spent a day hiking and climbing in the near-by Joshua Tree National Park. That was spectacular! We drove to Bear Lake Ski Field for a day in the snow and we played golf at the Desert Winds Golf Course at the near-by Marine Base. A truly unique links stile course, beautifully maintained fairways and greens and curiously decorated with the occasional combat tank or troop carrier! We have some great photos of that to show our disbelieving friends. To be so close to the National Park (the main reason for our visit) and to have all the other activities as well made it excellent value for money and a "must do" stop over while discovering the delights of the Californian desert. Thank you to the owners Jessie and Margaret and their lovely little daughter Angelina for a wonderful stay.

We are golf fanatics from the Philippines who also appreciates total peace and quiet. My husband loves horses and was truly delighted when given a chance by the owner to ride his horse for few hours. The place has a short 9 hole field where we practiced our Irons and Wedge shots. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. We are planning to come back again to Turtle Crossing Ranch for our next American trips next year to discover what's hidden beyond those magnficent mountains. Highly recommended to family who loves the outdoors I

About the owner: Welcome to our Turtle Crossing Ranch! We have been working to make this ranch an oasis of beauty and serenity, chock full of fun things to do. We enjoy traveling ourselves and meeting people from all over the world. Joshua Tree is a small town, yet people from all over the world pass through it. We would like to welcome as many as we can to our Turtle Crossing Ranch Guest House.

Why the Owner Chose Joshua Tree:
This is a beautiful area and Joshua Tree National Park is a magical place. We love it here because we can enjoy year round outdoor activities; we can barbeque outside in January; we can dine outside in clement weather and no bugs to hover about our food! There are many places to explore in this high desert area: Pioneer town, the Integratron, Joshua Tree Music Festival, to name a few. There is excellent golf on the Marine Base in Twentynine Palms and skiing in nearby Big Bear.

The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
We enjoy the solitude, yet town is very near. We enjoy the elbow room, the peace, the quiet, the serenity that greets us every time we walk outside. We enjoy watching the horses in their corrals, and grabbing a golf club and going out and playing our true desert Par-3 golf course. We look forward to the desert tortoises annual migration through our ranch, and seeing owls and hawks flying over the ranch. You can truly 'get away from it all' when you are on Turtle Crossing Ranch.
