Enjoy the summer in Destin. The beaches are beautiful and the summer breeze feels great! In addition to the beautiful beaches, the Terrace at Pelican Beach offers many other activities (pools, tiki bar, hot tub, beautiful lake view). Also, there are amusement parks nearby. Big Kahunas is just across the street and the Track is nearby. Also, there's lots of shopping and plenty to do in Destin, Sandestin, and Baytown, just to name a few exciting areas. Also, there are many great restaurants close by.
Our 3rd floor unit is located in The Terrace, which is one of two condominium complexes within the gated Resorts of Pelican Beach, one of the finest resorts in Destin. The condominiums are located on the beachside of Highway 98 in the heart of Destin. These facilities are beautifully landscaped with numerous palm trees and other plants. The resort offers a quiet atmosphere while being conveniently located near Destin’s finest attractions.
From our unit, we have a fabulous view of the heated pool and poolside hot tub, cooking area (2 gas grills), and a beautiful lake complete with two fountains. We can also see the Destin Bridge and the gulf. While on our balcony, we are close enough to the pool and cooking area to talk to friends and family as they swim or cook, or leisurely soak in the hot tub. The beach is only a short stroll from the condo, or you can ride to the beach via the resort’s seasonal beach tram. It’s truly an easy walk to the beach. In fact, we walk nearly every time ourselves.
The Terrace offers a heated pool with hot tub, gas grills (which are kept very clean), and an indoor poolside fitness center. The Terrace also shares amenities with Pelican Beach. Together, there are three pools (gulf front, lake front (our view), and an indoor pool), steam room and sauna. Amenities also include a kiddie pool and a pool side deli/restaurant, two tennis courts, shuffleboard, and a video game room. Both complexes have fitness centers. There is also a beachfront Tiki bar that offers beach service, along with a provisions shop. There is an organized summer program for kids ages 4 to 12 (Play Zone).
Our unit is on the 3rd floor, near the stairwell and elevator. Our unit sleeps six people. It has two bedrooms and two full baths. The master bedroom features a very comfortable king sized bed and entertainment center with TV and VCR, and a ceiling fan. There is a vanity area and a private bath within the master bedroom. The second bedroom has two twin sized beds, TV (with built in DVD on side of TV), a dresser, window, closet, and ceiling fan (the second bathroom is just outside the bedroom door). There is a fully equipped kitchen with serving bar and a living room/dining room combination. The sofa in the living room converts to a bed. The table seats four and there is seating for three at the bar. We have a stack washer and dryer. We also have internet service. We have just finished updating our condo. We worked with a professional decorator who helped us choose a relaxing decor. We replaced the carpet with 20' ceramic tile laid on a diagonal pattern and painted the entire unit. We added new lamps, new wall art, new bedding, and replaced some pieces of furniture.
This resort is near several fun things to do. Big Kahunas Water and Adventure Park is across the street, The Track (go-carts, rides, and putt-putt golf), souvenir shops, grocery stores, malls, and restaurants are nearby.

Wow, where to start?! We arrived late on Saturday evening and instantly felt the stress of travel melt away when we saw this beautiful condo. Everything was clean and well maintained, beautiful grounds and friendly staff. Made a couple visits to the beach (nice but very crowded) and spent lots of time at the pool. Very quiet in the condo, could not hear neighbors with small children in the next unit so we felt as though we were the only ones there. Plenty of shopping and restaurant choices nearby, outlet mall less than 10 miles away. We would recommend The Track (go-karts & mini golf) and Southern Star Dolphin Cruise, both were lots of fun. We were a bit disappointed that Big Kahuna's wasn't open when we visited but we had checked out their website before leaving home so we knew that in advance. This was our first visit to the Destin area but is definitely a place we will consider for a repeat vacation and I only hope this same condo will be available for that trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with teenagers.

This condo was everything we hoped for on our spring break trip. The convenient location was within walking distance of many things and the beach is just a quick walk from the condo, across a boardwalk to the private beach. The resort does offer beach chairs and umbrellas for a fee. Everything was clean and well maintained.Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

About the owner: We grew up in Alabama and the beach has always been our favorite vacation destination. My husband has always wanted to retire to the coast. We have three children and three grandchildren who also enjoy the beach. While staying at the Terrace as guests, we fell in love with the quality of the development, the landscaping, the family oriented amenities, the beach, the aqua gulf water, and the convenience to shopping, restaurants, and family activities. The Terrace is the perfect fit for our family.
Why the Owner Chose Pelican Beach, The Terrace:
We chose to buy a condo in Destin because we love the fishing village quaintness of Destin and the fact that Destin offers so much to do! We enjoy relaxing on the beach and watching the dolphins. We also enjoy seeing the boaters and swimmers in the beautiful water of Destin Harbor. Many younger people rent sea-doos and enjoy parasailing. Also, Destin has so many good places to eat and great shopping.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Our family loves the beach and the pools. We also enjoy the hot tub and fitness center. There are tennis courts, shuffleboard, and the beach side Tiki bar. Above all, The Terrace offers an opportunity to relax and let all of one's stress and tension fade away.
