What a beautiful, immaculate home with all the amenities you'd ever want, plus the most beautiful grounds, swimming pool and spa. Our family of 11 had a wonderful time enjoying Fall colors and exporing the grounds. It was everything and more from what was advertised and the pictures of it. It was close to Yosemitie and the Gold Highway 49, which we visited. A great place I'd recommend to anyone, plus very friendly and helpful owners from which to rent who made us very welcome and comfortable.

Four couples spent four nights at the beautiful Riverbend. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and are all trying to figure out when we can return for another visit. The house was in great condition and all the amenities were first-class. A great place to enjoy nature, relax with a good book or spend time with good friends. Thanks for making us feel so welcome and for being responsive to our questions and needs.

The perfect place for a family gathering

We traveled from Connecticut, Georgia, Montana, Los Angeles and San Francisco to Ahwahnee for a family gathering. Riverbend was a wonderful home/resort for so many reasons. Many of the group spent days hiking or biking at Yosemite. Others were happy to stay home and enjoy the beautiful pool. And who could resist a game of golf right next door! Mornings found the readers gathered on the shaded patio with their books and coffee. For me, the best events were the family dinners we shared on the porch . . . conversations going in all directions (because that's who we are). Many thanks to the Langes for providing a wonderful haven for all of us.

The resort at Riverbend

This is a wonderful property located on the Fresno River. It is equipped in such a way that leaving the site while there is really not at all necessary. The pool set up is one of the prettiest I've ever seen, and the ample amt of seating around the pool and underwater lights make it a delightful place to be on a summer evening. The home is spacious and is exceptionally clean. The kitchen contains very nice appliances and cooking and working within is a pleasure. There is also a very nice gas barbecue outside on the deck. We had a lovely family reunion here and both our children and grandchildren felt that Riverbend would be hard to beat. We loved it!

We had such a wonderful time here! Some of us left the property to visit Yosemite, etc., but I personally stayed at the house the whole time! The sun, pool, tranquility, and beautiful setting made for one of the nicest vacations I've had in years! We all liked it so much, we have decided to do it again next year!

We returned again to the source of joy and rejuvenation. As before, Riverbend exceeded our expectations. It was the same beautiful place and yet a completely different experience. We think you can return again and again and still find yourself wanting for more. We will never tire of the property or the abundance of nature that surrounds it. Everything was familiar and yet new again. We can't make it back next summer, but we are thinking winter retreat? Another level to explore at Riverbend. We aren't Elven, but we feel like we know what the land of Rivendell was like after a week at Riverbend. "There is nothing like looking, if you want to find something." - J.R.R. Family Reunion Summer 2012

Just returned home from Riverbend family reunion ( 14 of us) -what a jewel. Everything is first class- the kitchen has everything from fine dinnerware, stemware, pots and pans, cookie sheets, to gold panning pans in the back room . There is a fantastic grocery store -Raleys just 6miles away. The house has a large living room with a large flat screen for movies after dinner. The bedrooms and mattress are outstanding. The pool was a hit for everyone from 8yrs old to 70+, a welcome on a warm summer evening. Dinning on the patio with everyone will be remembered by all. Kids played games on the large lawn while adults visited on the patio which has very comfortable outdoor furniture. Fred can we get a season pass? O don't forget Yosemite- breathtaking in every way. California natives to family from Missouri want to come back. It must be fantastic in winter with the 3 fireplaces. J&J Piepmeyer

Wow, would you like to know our ittle secret? It's called the "RVERBEND". I'm not sure I should've told you, well I guess its okay. The description only tells half the story. This place was wonderful. 4 couples including my dear friends from Japan who just fell in love with it. Really, it has everything you would ever need. The property was immaculate. Every room was GREAT. The living room was huge. Fred was extremely helpful. Initially we were hesitant, and had some concern how this will work out, but the first time we talked with him he made us feel very comfortable. 3 huge flat screen TV's. The pool and jacuzzi was really really nice. I can't really recommend any restaurants although I' did see quite a few. We boought our food from a local market(Vons) and barbecued every night. We only went into yosemite valley once because we just enjoyed hanging out at the "RIVERBEND" KIDS would love it. So much to see and do. Has a river, you can go hiking right from the back yard. Wow, I could go on and on, but I won't. All I will say in conclusion is I'm booking my reservations early next year. Hopefully you can get in before me, but I wouldn't count on it. Boy IT WAS GREAT. mmm, maybe I shouldn't have told you "OUR LITTLE SECRET.

Nirvana at Riverbend!

We returned to Riverbend for a second time because we'd had such a magical experience the previous year. We kept reminding ourselves that "lightning never strikes twice", but in our case it did! The home is beautifully appointed while still being comfortable. The property is truly amazing; it absolutely has a resort feel. Our family includes an eight year old and an eighty five year old...there was something for everyone. We had croquet tournaments, ping-pong and pool tournaments and, of course endless hours of fun in the incredible pool! While we went into Wawona one day during our week's stay, we were happiest staying at the house, cooking our meals together in the wonderful gourmet kitchen, eating outside overlooking the river. We were even lucky enough to be together to watch Matt Cain pitch a perfect game for the Giants, viewed on the BIG screen TV! A lifetime of wonderful memories from spectacular Riverbend!

"When Can We Rent This Again?"

"When can we rent this again?" asks my daughter within ten minutes of arriving at Riverbend from the Bay Area at almost midnight for a BIG birthday family weekend. There were nine of us in all--two grandparents, two sets of parents and five grandkids. Riverbend just swallowed us up with its extensive array of bedrooms, activity areas, gourmet kitchen, entertainment centers and living areas. Perfectly complemented by wonderful decks, pool, spa, waterfalls, fire pits and views that won't quit. The kids were busy dawn to dusk enjoying the water sports and exploring the river banks and climbing the rocks. So much to do we only spent one day in Yosemite itself. One morning the kids had organized a family portrait and it turns out the photographer they hired is the official photographer for Yosemite Park. Familiar as he is with spectacular scenery, he was blown away by the fabulous settings Riverbend had to offer. We'll have some wonderful Christmas cards this year! Simply said--Riverbend was, and is, a perfect find.

This house is amazing. We had hosted a gathering of 10 friends and everyone was so impressed. We are all foodies, the kitchen was perfect, the big table was the spot for great after dinner conversations. The hot tub, pool were divine diversions. The owners truly care and are very responsive with any questions that may come up. We have rented a lot of places over the years and this one is one of the best. The pictures you see on vrbo are amazing, but they do not do it justice. You will not be disappointed if you are lucky enough to stay here.

We had never rented a home before and were a little nervous about what to expect. We never expected such luxury and so many extras. This home is welcoming and beautiful. Our family did not even leave the property. There were plenty of things to entertain everyone. It was wonderful to hear all of the laughter and even a few moments of silence as everyone relaxed and played. On Saturday afternoon our four year old granddaughter announced that this was the best day in the whole world. I totally agreed. Thank you again Fred and Lynn for sharing your home and giving us unforgettable memories. And you do have the best tire swing around.

Great Reunion Location

Our group of 5 couples have known each other for 30 years and to celebrate we held a reunion at Ahwahnee Riverbend. The house had everything it promised on the website and we thoroughly enjoyed out stay. We took turns cooking dinners and ate on the patio every night, talking late into the evening while stargazing (there were many shooting stars). Fred was very accommodating in changing out the bunk room to a double room, for a nominal fee. All questions were promptly answered and the deposit was returned quickly after our stay. Thanks to Fred for sharing his wonderful home!

I wanted to express how happy we were with our week rental this past Labor Day 2011. We have a large family and enjoy doing things together. We have found in the past that we, as a group, prefer to rent a large house at a destination that appeals to the family. The house was exactly as pictured in your website. The location to Yosemite was easy and close. The amount of activities at our disposal kept everyone happy, engaged and active and we had ages from 4 to 81 years old. The house is loaded with games, both indoors and out and the pool and jacuzzi was always a nice way to end the day. I would recommend this to anyone looking to share time with their family or friends and I have already discussed this with one of my best clients for his family. Thank you for everything.

A Glorious Week

There are no words to describe the experience one has upon waking and brewing a great cup of coffee and enjoying it out on the chairs that over look the Fresno river as it ripples and flows in the distance. Birds tweet, rabbits hop and the occasional lizard quickly runs under the next rock. Ahhhh, nature at its best, from a lounge chair. I hear my family turning on the waterfall and love hearing it cascade in to the pool while the spa heats up for another round of swim, soak, swim, soak....lunch, swim, soak, swim....dinner, swim, soak, swim. Another marvelous day comes to a close at the Riverbend House. Maybe next year we will make it off the property. Fred and Lynn it was all too perfect, life back home just isn't the same, can't wait for next year.

Riverbend was PERFECT for our gathering (3 families with children). With the pool, river, sand volleyball, and house amenities (games, electronics, books, etc) there was something for everyone. The furnishings and supplies were top notch. I've used VRBO for a number of vacations, and this has been my best experience yet. Great communication with the owner and Fred was very helpful with recommendations for exploring the area. Yosemite was awesome and we enjoyed a day boating on Bass Lake, but we looked forward to returning to Riverbend each day (and some days we never left).

Perfect Vacation Home

Our extended family (from grandparents to young children) loves to vacation close to national parks so we can do all the hiking & biking and outdoor activities yet enjoy all the conveniences of home--without camping out. Riverbend is not only conveniently located to beautiful Yosemite--day trips were 30 minutes into the park--but Riverbend offered a great place to enjoy all by itself. The days we stayed home playing on the swing in the front yard, the pool, hot tub, pool table, ping pong table and scouting the river on the rocks beyond were just as enjoyable to our family. Thank you for sharing your spacious resort with us!

Fred, Had a wonderful time at your home! Everyone thought it was terrific and wanted to stay longer. Your pictures do not do justice to the setting.We enjoyed evening fires in the kitchen fireplace and on the deck . The hot tub was a welcome experience after a days hiking in Yosemite! We have recomended your house to several friends who have expressed interest in the Yosemite area. Great place for a group

We stayed at Riverbend with a group of 11 that included 5 kids aged 10-14. Everyone had a terrific time, with a lot to do: pool and spa (even in chilly April it was great); pool table; beach volleyball, many games, and simply exploring the river.....everyone especially enjoyed the absolutely awesome tire swing in the front yard. The big table in the kitchen was great for sharing meals and games. The house was in great shape and had everything we needed; Fred and Lynn made the process easy....highly recommended!

Hi Fred, I wanted to write and thank you for providing us such a wonderful place to stay during our visit last week. What a PERFECT place to stay! Once I parked and began to walk to the Ahwahnee House, I knew we were in luck. The view, the fireplace, the subtle lighting, the sound of the water in the creek was absolutely breath taking. What an absolutely beautiful entry to a wonderful house. It was perfect, also a relief. Pictures on the internet and words are sometimes, well...not exactly the same. Yours was true to your work. [from guest book] What a spectacular home! We have loved it all, and been amazed by it all. Being greeted by the greatest tire swing we've ever experienced was just the beginning. What a treat to witness our children experiencing the magic of it all. We scarcely wanted to break away from your home to visit Yosemite! Our six-year old son literally spent hours in the pool & hot tub, as did we! Our two year old daughter enjoyed it all too, including a precious hike to the river. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have found this place and appreciate all you have done to make it so accommodating - from super-plush towels, to labels, to the cleanliness, organization, beautiful decorating and homey touches. It is so easy to notice the love and care that went into so many details throughout the house. As savvy New Yorkers, we've had the pleasure of enjoying many rental homes across the country in an attempt to escape the New York weather and Riverbend has climbed to the top of that list. When deciding to visit Yosemite, we expected to create life long memories for our children, though Glacier Point was magnificent, panning for gold (and finding so much!) in the stream by the house, has surely cemented a collection of memories that are truly priceless. The pool and Jacuzzi, the tire swing out front, the pool table and all the other amenities, really made this feel like our own private resort! We look forward to spending tomorrow on Bass Lake. Thank you again for a wonderful vacation. Your home felt like it was our own!

Spent 4 days in the Yosemite area at Riverbend. The first words out of my kid's mouth upon arrival were "is this whole resort for us? Awesome!". We spent several days in Yosemite but our favorite day was when we spent the whole day at the house. First the tire swing, then the pool, then the river, then the pool again... you get the idea. The kids were disappointed that they didn't get a gold nugget when they panned for gold <grin> but seeing a bobcat on our last day made up for it. The owners have done a great job with a recent renovation and provided nice instructions for using the house and seeing the surrounding areas. This was our first VRBO rental and the owners made the whole process go super smoothly. Would definitely recommend Riverbend to others.

My family and I stayed at this beautifully appointed, exceptionally maintained home. We did go into Yosemite one day and decided when we come back - we won't leave because everything is right at your fingertips at Riverbend.

Riverbend is truly a magical place for those of us that love the mountains, peace and tranquility. The bonus is that the owners are wonderful people that have made every effort to provide a classy comfortable get away and I mean get away from all the hustle and bussel of everyday life.
