We rented the Hideaway for 3 days and had such a great time. The place was clean, beds were comfortable, kitchen was well equipped, hot tub was clean and fresh smelling. Decorations were nice too... some times these cabins are almost too... cutesy with all the bears and "cabin" furniture. This was a nice mix of styles that blended well and made you feel comfortable and at home. One of the really nice features for us was the level land which allowed our kids and 2 small dogs room to roam, without having to worry about cars coming. The only disadvantage was the road getting there. Lots of steep hills, winding roads and ways to get Lost! But the owner was Super sweet, answered all my questions, gave great directions (we just had to make sure to follow them every time! LOL). It wasn't too far away from all of the attractions and was nice and quiet. I would definitely recommend the Hideaway... or any of this owners properties to a friend.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Just returned from 5 days, 4 nights in the Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg area. Our stay at the Hideaway was most enjoyable, the cabin being like a home away from home. We had all the conveniences tucked away in the gorgeous mountains. We enjoyed long walks during the day, taking in the beautiful foliage and in the evenings sat by the fire in the firepit, listening to the quiet, peaceful sounds of the night. We had excellent directions from the owner which took us to the front door of the cabin where we found everything in order, clean & cozy. This cabin is tucked away high on the mountain but only about 10 minutes from both Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge. We so needed a break from our crazy routine & this was the perfect getaway. Would definitely recommend this rental and hope to get back again ourselves soon!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: The Smoky Mts are a very special place for us too and we are so glad that you enjoyed our little Hideaway. Its wonderful to be so close to everything yet really have the clean cozy romantic & pampered getaway you deserve. Please come back to Hideaway soon and thanks so much!

The 'Hideaway' was a welcome getaway. Eventhough the 'cabin' was very clean, it was not private at all, like advertised, so we didn't get to use the hot tub. Wifi didn't work as advertised, no iron as advertised. We coud only get about 8 channels on the tv, that was including infommercials, even if we could get more the straight back chairs weren't very comfortable, the couch was so so. The beds were very comfortable, I don't think I moved all night...we had guest every afternoon...wild turkeys, they didn't hurt a thing while we and all the neighbors would watch them walking around as if we weren't even there. Except for the logs on the outside of the cabin, I would consider this as a cottage, very small and sweet, just not what we're used to when we rent cabins....all in all had a good get away for my husbands birthday.Recommended for: Pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your review-this makes Number 13 and the only one that has not been flattering. During October with fabulous fall color and one of our busiest months in the mountains, all visitors do wish for more privacy!. Our ad says a private level wooded lot which I am sure you did enjoy. We do have top quality appliances in Hideaway, and my staff missed its unfortunate disappearance before your arrival. I replaced the iron as soon as I knew and thank you for that. I give all our guests my direct phone number and would have been glad to get you the iron immediately, had I known. Hideaway does not have WiFi and although I searched the listing again, I did not find it listed anywhere on the site. Telephone service is 4G up there so for most guests, internet connection had not been missed. Hideaway is a clean, cozy romantic cabin with fabulous beds, & new furniture, original art work and a red heart shaped tub overlooking your private wooded lot. Thanks for your input. It is appreciated.

So many Smoky Mountain cabins try to pass themselves off as being an 'authentic' mountain retreat. Hideaway is the real deal. We spent three nights there in late August, and the rustic but comfortable charm of the place oozes out of every real log. It's an older cabin that been rehabbed for a modern-but-cozy feel. All the amenities are here: hot tub, romantic jacuzzi (heart-shaped), great A/C, cable TV, stone fireplace, dishwasher, etc. But, here, too, is the natural side of the Smokies: Outdoor firepit, grill (both gas and charcoal), and all sitting on a nice wooded hilltop that seemed to have you above the rest, literally and metaphorically. The decor is country but usable--nice chairs and couch, plus the beds provided ONE OF THE BEST AND MOST RESTFUL NIGHTS SLEEP I'VE HAD IN A WHILE! All in all, Hideaway is perfect for a romantic get-away or for a handful of friends who want to enjoy the quiet and relaxing nature that surrounds it--and we saw plenty of nature from the large/nice front porch!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Hideaway does provide the authentic feel of the Smoky Mountains. On that rare, level private wooded lot, you do have outdoor space to enjoy and the evenings around the campfire are something to remember. We are so glad that Hideaway s amenities also gave you the rest , relaxation & true mountain experience you were looking for. Thanks so much for coming to Hideaway. We wish you many more soul satisfying days & nights when you return!

With one son in college 600 miles away and the other very active in high school sports, finding a time to get away together has proven very difficult! We had been counting on a Christmas Break trip together for several months, but trying to put an affordable getaway together was so daunting! My sticker shock over holiday stay and travel rates caused me to put off any bookings. As we got down to the wire, I came across the Hideaway and some other properties. Cher was by far the most responsive and helpful person I came across! She was integral in making our holiday happen! The cabin is clean, cozy and homey (holiday decor was a lovely touch). It's small, but I did not see that as a disadvantage -- perfect for the togetherness atmosphere I was looking for with my three most favorite boys in the world! We had a few terrific hikes and got out and about a bit, but my fondest memories will probably be our 'down time' in the cabin. Our only disappointment was that only one ski site was open; our trip to Maggie Valley was in vain, as the facility was 'at capacity' and we were turned away. Although we loved the snow-capped mountain trails, I probably wouldn't return between Christmas and New Year's, but hope to visit again virtually any other time! I liked the fact that we were dealing with property owners as opposed to rental managers. It also felt good to return home without having spent a fortune! Thanks, Cher. You rock!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway.
Owner response: Andi & Mark, We are so pleased that the Hideaway provided the warmth, closeness & comfort you wanted for the family during the Holiday Season. Yes, the kids grow up so fast that we have to grab those moments! Please come back in the summer for evenings around the campfire. We look forward to having you at our Hideaway, once again. Thank you!

The Hideaway was such a sweet cabin. We spent our mornings drinking coffee on the porch or taking a walk in the mornings. The beds are super comfortable and the hot tub was nice. My little girls really enjoyed it! The owners George and Cher were very helpful in answering our questions. The only thing wrong was that we didn't have enough towels and washcloths so just bring some extra! We really had a good time and look forward to going back!Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you so much for your comments! We certainly will have many more towels/washcloths available for use and really appreciate the heads up! We look forward to hosting you again;0)....

My husband and I were in need of a relaxing weekend and that's just what we got. The cabin is really comfortable and just convenient enough to enjoy the town of Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We really enjoyed the outside hot tub on the front porch. We took advantage of that every day we were there. The huge king-size bed in the master was very comfortable for us; we sleep like babies on top of the mountain. Thanks for the break and the Great accommodations.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I just wanted to say what a wonderful stay we had at the Hideaway Cabin. The cabin was wonderfully comfortable, relaxing and romantic. We absolutely loved the heart shaped spa tub in front of the fire! The location was perfect – far enough to be away from it all and yet close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg and the beauty of the Smokies. Thank you so much for making our 10th Anniversary a very special one! Wow! Get-away at Hide-Away – a real treat. We spent 2 days and nights at Hide-Away in early May 2010 and it was great. Upon arriving we were greeted with lovely music playing, a beautifully set table, cheery and everything immaculately clean. The cabin is fully equipped: large refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, everything for cooking inside or grilling outside, nice bathroom and huge stone fireplace ready to be lit. It has two large bedrooms with closets and plenty of drawer space. The furnishings are lovely antiques, rustic yet very comfortable. There was a hot tub on the deck overlooking a lovely wooded yard and a beautiful heart-shaped Jacuzzi inside. The porch/deck was our favorite place for coffee in the morning or toddy in the moonlight but it had to be shared with all the chatter from birds, squirrels, crows, chipmunks and a howl or two from something unknown – perhaps the neighbor’s dog. We loved it! A great stay in the mountain forest with all the comforts of home, and for a quick city visit, Hide-Away is just 5 minutes from Pigeon Forge and 10 minutes from Gatlinburg. The only negative? We wish we could have stayed longer.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.
