The worst part about giving a wonderful review is risking the lack of future availability. This cottage is amazing -- one of the best VRBO experiences I've ever had. The owners were exceedingly gracious and have thought of everything to make sure their guests are comfortable and feel welcome. I'm also a VRBO owner, and I can only hope my guests' experience are as good as this one was for me. Everything was even better than described...very clean, very organized, very pampering. There was plenty of water running in the creek, so the sounds of nature added to the ambience. Deer were grazing out the huge picture windows constantly, squirrels ran here and there, birds darted about ... and beautiful downtown Los Gatos with its fabulous shops and fantastic restaurants was just a stone's throw away. It was really tough to leave such a tranquil place. A great respite from the craziness of Silicon Valley. If I'm lucky enough to return some day, they may have to have me forcibly removed from the premises.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had a wonderful 10 days at the cottage rediscovering old haunts-Point Lobos, Carmel, Monterey, beach at Pescadero for tide pools, Stanford for shopping, Big Basin redwoods ,several separate days in San Francisco, all within comfortable 1- 2 hour drives. Los Gatos was great to potter about in -shops, historic houses and more all within a pleasant walk and a good atmosphere for wandering about in the evenings. The cottage surpassed our expectations -larger than the photos seemed to show and Samantha had taken great care to provide many thoughtful extras that we haven't found in any other properties .We, 2 adults plus teen, would thoroughly recommend this very clean, comfortable, cosy place. The unusual setting gave a wonderful sense of being away from it all but in reality is close to all imaginable facilities. And the deer - adult with two young, were a delightful, daily bonus. We look forward to returning .Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cottage is delightful with a comfortable, well decorated interior as well as pleasant, secluded and private outdoor spaces in which to eat and relax. It is located in a lovely area of Los Gatos and within walking distance to the town. The owner is exceptionally helpful and eager to please. Our three week stay was very enjoyable.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just returned from a one week stay at this lovely cottage - a return visit following a week long stay last year. The location is very private, peaceful. Visited by several families of deer morning and evening. It is an easy walk into Los Gatos, a charming town, with unbelievable gardens to observe all along the way. The Sunday morning open market is not to be missed. We find the cottage to be an excellent base from which to explore - Santa Cruz mountain wineries, East Bay wineries, the coastal towns of Monterrey and Carmel and to drive along Skyline Blvd. and explore the Silicon Valley towns. There are excellent food markets in town - Whole Foods and Lunardi's especially for fresh salmon and halibut - and the cottage's kitchen is perfect for cooking both!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you so very much for our "home away from home" in Los Gatos. We visited many places in the San Francisco area, and had a wonderful wedding for our son. After all things wonderful and beautiful, we were so happy to come home to our little house in Los Gatos. Thank you for making this important time in our life, comfortable and welcoming.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway.

My family enjoyed a 6 night stay here while in the area to attend our son's graduation from the French Culinary Institute in Campbell. It was the perfect spot to unwind after a day of sight-seeing and the cottage was well equiped with almost anything you could ask for. The cottage seems larger than what the pictures depict on the website, it was well maintained and very peaceful. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood, the farmer's market on Sunday in Los Gatos, Icing on the Cake bakery, Santana Row in San Jose, a long day exploring San Francisco, all attractions within easy driving distance of this location. I would not hesitate to recommend this cottage to anyone!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent 3 weeks at the Los Gatos cottage and loved it. The cottage is unique, tucked away and private, surrounded by trees, and yet within walking distance of downtown and hiking trails too! It has wonderfully big windows letting in light and scenery, but no one will ever be looking in at you because of the location. Birds chirped, deer strolled around . . I strolled to town. It was a lovely time and if I ever had any needs the owners were very responsive. I feel lucky to have had the opportunity to stay at the cottage, and recommend it highly. Los Gatos is a special, beautiful town, so quaint and friendly. So that too, was a treat. There is a lot to do in this area . . and the cottage is the perfect place to have a home away from home and experience it all.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This is a lovely, thoroughly equipped house located in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The quiet was wonderful. And the owner's thoughtfulness in providing for guests' needs is quite impressive. We had a small inconvenience with an appliance. Unasked, the owner returned to us a very generous "credit" along with our security deposit. That gesture reconfirmed that we will stay in this beautiful and restful property every time we visit the Bay Area. Can't recommend it enough!Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We just spent a delightful six days in this charming cottage. We were in the area for my son's graduation from Stanford, and it was the perfect setting to relax after a full day of celebratory events. I highly recommend sitting on the deck with a glass of wine while listening to the creek as it winds its way alongside the cottage. Heavenly. Our family converged for a Friday night cookout, and we all really appreciated the spacious deck and fully equipped kitchen. My brother and cook loved the top-notch grill, just like home. We took full advantage of the gorgeous weather and enjoyed breakfast and dinner on the deck almost every day. I usually don't sleep well in unfamiliar surroundings, but the beds were so comfy, and it was so quiet, sleep was blessedly restful every night. The commute to Stanford was easy, and we really enjoyed the convenience of the nearby shops and restaurants. All and all, our wonderful stay exceeded all our expectations. Thank you Samantha!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We loved our 3 weeks holiday here. The cottage had everything we wanted and provided a good base for our travel around California as it is so close to the freeways. We were easily able to walk to town, to shop at the Farmer's Market and to enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants. The house is beautiful and the setting is very peaceful. We enjoyed seeing the many birds, the squirrels scurrying about preparing for winter, the occasional visits of the deer and even the glimpse of a coyote.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The cottage is located in a gorgeous, shady, hilly, residential area of beautiful, historic homes, and although being a short walk from town, feels very private and isolated - no other homes are visible from the house. The pictures are very accurate! Our family spent 10 very comfortable days there, the cottage is very well-equipped, grilling on the deck overlooking the stream was a restful way to end the day. Everything we needed to cook, entertain ourselves, or be comfortable was provided, much more than we expected. Samantha provides a very helpful welcome kit and has a huge binder filled with all sorts of thoughful touches - maps, menus, directions. Just a great experience, and we absolutely loved Los Gatos. The weather was perfect in Mid-July (and apparently always is), there are just countless parks and hiking trails, farmers markets, concerts and other town activities, and biking trails nearby. The residents were friendly, the shops and restaurants awesome, and we could get anywhere in Silicon Valley in 20 minutes or less (30 at rush hour). Santa Cruz is 30 minutes away. Loved it!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent a week at the cottage while my husband was in the hospital at Stanford. It was the perfect place to return to after spending all day in the hospital. Sitting on the back deck looking out at the creek feels like you are in a secluded cabin in the woods, but in reality you are just minutes from a beautiful neighborhood. Staying there alone I felt completely comfortable and safe. And the deep soaking tub was the perfect way to end a long day. I hope to go back when I can spend all my time at the Cottage or exploring Los Gatos. Highly recommend!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I just finished a weeks stay at the cottage. I rented because my husband had major surgery at Stanford Medical Center and I wanted to stay somewhere I could cook for myself, I got so much more. This little cottage was such a blessing. It felt secluded but, in reality, I was in a gorgeous old neighborhood. I felt completely safe and comfortable. I was able to come back in the evening, sit on the deck, listen to the creek and just relax. The deep soaking tub was just icing on the cake. It was just delightful!! And the owners were amazinly accomodating and helpful. I can't wait to come back and stay when I can just stay at the cottage all day or go explore the town.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I spent one month in this most beautiful and comfortable cottage. It is situated in a little glenn off the main road providing privacy and quiet while it is just a brief walk into town. The setting is gorgeous filled with trees and wildlife. The surrounding neighborhood is very beautiful and interesting as well boasting historic houses and beautiful gardens. Great walking! The owners of the cottage have made sure that a guest's every possible need is met. Truly, nothing is lacking for your comfort. The owners are anxious that you enjoy your stay to the fullest. While I really enjoyed my wintertime visit I look forward to having a chance to visit in the summer at sometime. I could then enjoy more of the outdoor life, the beautiful back deck and barbeque, or coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the afternoon on the secluded front deck. As a single woman I felt very comfortable, snug and safe alone in the cottage. The charming sleeping loft would be ever so much fun for kids and teens. I would recommend this delightful spot to anyone. If you need peace and quiet it is perfect. If you need a spot from which to explore the Bay Area it is perfect. If you need a spot for family and friends to gather it is again perfect. Los Gatos is a charming town filled with beautiful buildings and an interesting history. There are delicious spots to eat and wonderful and unique shops and great grocery stores. The cottage could not be better situated and I would recommend a stay here to anyone.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.
