Location, location, location - and a great condo
Location, location, location - and a great condo
Hate to repeat (and plagerize ;) some of the previous review, but we had a very similar experience and opinion on this condo. The condo is perfectly located - oceanfront on Kaanapali beach - right next to whaler's village with its shops and restaurants (but no moise from there in this condo). The 'beach walk' is right there, so you can check out the Hyatt, Westin, and Sheraton shows and offerings too. The condo has a large lanai with sunset views and morning shade. Just a note, we debated intensely on which side of the Whaler to stay on - thinking it could be too hot for the lanai on this side. I would say that it *may* be too hot in the middle of the day in the summer - but once the sun gets 'low' it was no issue - especially at this time of year where the sun is setting at 5:30 or so. We had some AWESOME sunsets sitting right on the lanai - with our own $2 Mai-Tais (or whatever) vs the $10 and up ones next door (although there are some good 'aloha hours' around - just a bit too early for our liking). there are several good gas BBQ grills for guests and tables that look over to the ocean and 'beach walk' for some good people watching. We bought some great steaks, shrimp, veggies, and a good bottle of wine one night (from supermarket in Lahaina) - and had one of the best meals of the trip. Might as well take advantage of that right? Anyway, the condo itself is very well equipped with kitchen cooking needs, such as pots and pans. As mentioned, the kitchen cabinets and bathrooms could be updated, but appliances are great, and nice to have a full kitchen. The other furniture and decor is very nice and there is plenty of seating in and outside. The condo is kept very clean, and the owner is quite right (IMHO) to ask the guests to treat it as it was your own, take off shoes, etc. Also, we had a cleaning person in during the middle of the week as advertised. Note, if you have a car (and we did) there is a $12.50/day parking fee. checkin/checkout was very smooth, and there is a bellman right there for your luggage if you desire. the bottom line is if you're looking for a condo at Kaanapali, then this is probably your place. It is at the perfect location, and the condo itself is well-maintained and clean. We would definitely rent again

We had a wonderful time - in fact, our best stay yet in all of Hawaii. The condo is perfectly located with a very nice large lanai with sunset views and morning shade. It is very well equipped with kitchen cooking needs, such as pots and pans. It would be nice to have some grilling utensils, plastic wrap and foil, but we purchased these. Also, it would be nice to have beach chairs available, but they are available to rent. The pool towels are nice size and available by the pool and beach. The kitchen and bathrooms need to be updated, but the other furniture and decor is very nice indeed and there is plenty of seating in and outside. The front desk has tennis rackets available as there are two tennis courts. The rackets are fairly decent, but bring balls if you play. We went for para-glide and recommend UFO company just down the beach. Also, rented paddle boards and kayaks, also just down the beach. Snorkel gear is also nearby and reasonable, although we brought our own. We had a mid-stay clean (we were there 10 days) and I recommend doing this though there are washes and dryers available. The owner was very helpful and available by phone and e-mail when I had questions before we went. Can't wait to go again.

This condo was very comfortable, quiet and truly a little bit of paradise. The sound of the ocean lulled us to sleep every night. The kitchen was well stocked and we enjoyed our breakfast on the lanai and some of our lunches as well. The bed was very comfortable,the furnishings were lovely and well maintained. We found the staff friendly and helpful. There are numerous restaurants in the area and we especially enjoyed the beach walk - every morning walking to the Hyatt, which took an hour or going in the other direction to the Honua Kai, which took 2 hours or more if we stopped in at Dukes. The owner of this condo, George, was easy to deal with and we would definitely come back and stay if the unit was available. Calgary, Alberta
