  The place was just as described. Upon arrival the place was ready for us to use in a great state. Really liked the views from the deck and the architecture of the place. Plenty of parking space was present. Loved how close it was to walk to the beach and back. We were a group of 15 to 16 people with 3 suites, and there was plenty of space to have meals together and hang out. I would recommend this to anyone with a large group or even small group. The owners are very accessible and kind. Also just to mention, I would go back there again.

  I planned a surprise birthday gathering for my husband in January and chose this lovely Victorian house as a place of accommodation for our friends. The house was very charming, clean, equipped for our needs, and perfectly situated near the beach and boardwalk. We rented all units, and opened all the doors so it was like staying in one enormous house. We used the larger unit downstairs as our common gathering area. There was more than enough room for everyone in our large party. The owners always responded to any questions and made excellent restaurant recommendations. We live in the East Bay, so escaping to Santa Cruz for the weekend was a convenient choice, even in the Winter. The kids enjoyed the beach and boardwalk in the day, while the adults enjoyed a paved, scenic walk along the coast. Everyone enjoyed their stay. I would highly recommend this vrbo and plan to return with just my family hopefully sooner than later.

  Our stay at the Queen Ann Mansion from November 21st through November 25th, 2012, was an outstanding event. Eighteen of our family were there nearly the whole time. They ranged from 8 to 75 in years. Everyone had fun. There was within a short walk, the Boardwalk, Bowling, Warf, Starbucks and of course, the beach. The house was a marvel in architecture. Built in 1862, every room had its own appeal. The house was full of beautiful art objects and the beds were great. The neighborhood was quiet and filled with houses with about 100 years of different styles.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, families with teenagers.

  I rented out the property for a family reunion and could not have asked for a better situation. The location was just what we asked for. Downtown was within walking distance and the beach was incredibly close. My family also loved relaxing at the house, sitting in the hot tub, and using the bar-b-ques for big outdoor summer dinners. The house slept everyone comfortably and all of the amenities really added to our stay. The parking behind the house that was provided was a huge bonus as well. The house was clean and well-kept and when we had any questions the owners immediately answered our calls. We had a great stay and would love to be able to come back to this property for our next family get together.

  I had a family reunion at this incredible historic home. It was a fabulous venue for our family gathering: roomy, spacious, comfortable with all of the amenities. You want to know what I really liked about it was the wonderful strolls we had to the beach, wharf and restaurants. Our 5 day stay was too short. The mansion offers every amenity to stay connected in this busy world, or you can choose to go off the grid and relax in comfort and style with beautiful furnishings--a step back in time. The owners were terrific and helpful, but unobtrusive. You can bet I'll be back!!!!!!

  The expercience here was not stealar. There is a lot of delicate furniture and things in this house that potentially could be expensive to fix or replace. Some of our deposit was with held with no prior inspection or inspection with us on site as we exited. I will say there is a complete mix of rental type things and ornate things. It is not on the beach (only partial views of ocean there are lots of large trees and houses around it). The property itself was OK but certainly not worth the value. We do not recommend this property.

  Owner response: Our initial contact with the owner of the company who rented our home for his employees did not want to give any sort of deposit—stating that the deposit should be included in the rent and we as owners should “eat” any damage done by tenants. This is unheard of! We told him that we would not rent our beautiful mansion and its contents without being protected. He reluctantly agreed. Upon leaving the home, one of the employees backed into a glass patio table breaking it into several pieces. We deducted less than 10% of his deposit, and when we notified him of such, he told us to either return his deposit if full or he would leave extremely negative feedback “all over the net”. How sad! The deposit is for damages to property and should not come out of our compensation as an owner of a vacation rental.

  We held a family reunion at the Queen Anne Mansion in July. It was the perfect location and property to host the reunion. We served meals out back, the kids had a great time hiding around the place and the four kitchens made it easy to prepare meals for the whole family. We were comfortable in the old house which is funky and cool and the kids loved the proximity to the Boardwalk! I would highly recommend this property for your family gathering. The owners were great and very helpful during the planning phases of the event!

  I was hosting a weekend getaway with approximately 14 adults and this home could not have been more perfect! Ideally located right next to the boardwalk, you can see the beach/water from the front steps and from many of the rooms in the upper levels of the house. The beach and the boardwalk are just steps away, ideal for avoiding hunting for/paying for a parking space on a nice weekend. There are plenty of beds, and the house comfortably accommodates a large group of adults so long as they are close friends and family who don't mind sharing bedrooms. The interior of the house is antique and charming (think bed and breakfast), but still has fully equipped kitchens, a big screen tv in living room and plenty of other tvs around the house. A very fun experience, unique from any stay in a hotel or more modern beach home. To top it off, the owner of the home was professional and responsive to my inquiries throughout the whole process. I HIGHLY recommend making this your next vacation rental - you can't beat the location and the experience.

  Rented the 2 bottom units for my daughter's HS graduation and had her close friends stay over for 3 nights. Everyone absolutely enjoyed the stay to the max. The house style and decoration really added a charm of the celebration. The walk to the boardwalk is just a few minutes, and even closer are awesome volleyball courts in the beach. Two parking passes (one for each unit) plus house parking made the stay very comfortable. The process to rent was a breeze. The owners are very professional and readily available for any small question we had. Loved the place and the location!
