The Pacific Chart House is a large 2 story home that literally sits right on a lush sandy beach facing the Pacific ocean. Located in the Bay Shore community on the beach in Waldport, this home's backyard is the Pacific Ocean! With 4 large bedrooms (all with queen or king beds) and additional sleeping mats available, this home comfortably sleeps 8-10 people and is perfect for vacations with family and friends. There are 3 bathrooms (a half bath, a 3/4 bath, and a full bath), a desk/work area, a kitchen and dining room that look out over the ocean, and large living room areas. This home has lots of large windows to let the sunshine in, or to watch Oregon's dramatic storms on rainy days.
The home is both comfortable and luxurious: it has two TVs with cable and DVD players, iHome ipod clocks in each bedroom, free WiFi and all the necessary bedding, towels, and kitchenware that you might need. There are 2 beautiful, large fireplaces with lots of room for sitting and relaxing. If you enjoy watching the waves roll in, or star gazing over the ocean, this home is perfect! You can step out the door, sit in the sandy yard and enjoy the sights and sounds of the sea, or you can sit in either the downstairs sunroom or the upstairs covered deck and enjoy the ocean views. There's also an upstairs porch that faces the beautiful Waldport bridge, the bay, and the Alsea river. Get out and play --night or day-- in the sand & surf, or curl up and relax in this large but cozy home...either way, this is a perfect oceanside retreat!

The house was perfect! The house is right on the beach, so you can walk off the back porch onto the sand. The views from both floors are gorgeous, both out the front and back of the house. We had 11 people with us and with the futon and the sleeping mats; everyone was able to asleep quite comfortably. The two sun porches, the two living rooms and the sitting area in the master bedroom make for plenty of little nooks to sit and read or sit and chat. We had an awesome weekend! My husband was worried that we would feel crowded and that it would be too much trouble to cook instead of eating out. There was plenty of space for us to gather comfortably for meals and to spread out and enjoy the beach. We enjoyed many walks along the beach, the Newport Aquarium, the tide pools, light houses, and found that having a kitchen to cook meals in was more relaxing than going out to restaurants. The Wi-Fi worked great, we looked up the tide cycles and were able to catch the tide pools at low tide. We can hardly wait to come back again!Did you find this review helpful? What a wonderful location for a family get-together. The house is one of the older ones along the beach, but it was in very good condition, it had everything we needed for a good weekend, and it felt like a home.
