The Studio couldn't be any closer to the beach. The views are amazing from sun up to sun down. The availability of the surf boards and sea kayaks were great for heading out on your own in the shallow and calm inlet. We traveled by bus a few times, to and from Waikiki, but rented a car for the remainder of the stay which was much easier. There is a supermarket East of the property, 5200 block, and to the West there is a movie theatre and some restaurants, 7700 block. Overall it is a great place to stay. It is right on the highway so, as mentioned in other reviews, the traffic noise can be loud at times. Calms down at night when the waves on the shore take over. The kitchen is new but the only downside is it's a little under equipped, a bit of a mismash of utensils and pans. Basics are there though (toaster, microwave, coffeemaker) There are 3 units total. Two ground and one upper. It is one of the ground units so you may, on occasion, hear footsteps above. The Bali unit is beside the Studio. This mean you share the bottom floor, divided, and beach with them. As it does sit right on the beach, local people walk by, there are no curtains on the patio doors so just a heads up. Could benefit from a curtain for some privacy, when needed. Duncan, property manager, was amazing to deal with. Easy from start to finish and met us to check us in. We also took lessons with Ty Gurney Surf School & had an amazing time. Ty owns the house & lives on-site. Thanks again for an awesome time. It is great value for $$ and would definitely recommend.

My wife and I loved our stay in our South Oahu studio. The place was very clean and comfortable with a small functional kitchen. There were available beach chairs for use, a body board, kayaks, and surf boards. Best of all, the sliding glass door opened up right to a very small, quiet beach. Great way to wake up each morning! The location was great for anyone who wants to stay a bit outside of the hubbub of the Waikiki area, which is still only about a 15 min drive away. Hanauma bay and Diamond Head were about 10 min away, and the great east/north Oahu beaches were only about 20-30 min drive (Waimanalo Bay, Kailua Bay). Would recommend this place to anyone who wants a slightly more quiet island getaway but still wanting to be close to the action around Honolulu. A car will definitely be necessary, however.

Good location with the exception of traffic noise. It was clean. Bring own toilet paper, paper towels, etc. It would have been nice to have blinds on the patio door for more privacy.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay on Oahu. And would recommend it to young adventurous couples. We loved having the accessibility to the surf boards, body board, and kayaks. The space was just what we needed. There were no complications getting there from the airport and into our suite accept that our cell phones didn't work there (the house number is tricky to see but we had google mapped it prior to leaving). The suite was clean and well maintained. We loved having the beach right there with next to no one on it, but if you are hoping to go swimming there you are going to have to wade out a long way as the bay is quite shallow. The staff were amazing really treated us like friends, and informed us of some cool things going on around the island. Don't be afraid to ask questions! You must rent a car to go explore the island that really made the trip for us. Hanauma Bay and Sandy beach were very close. We did snorkeling elsewhere so we didn't go to hanauma and i've heard mixed reviews about it, but Sandy Beach was amazing. And if you are looking to go swim with dolphins go to Dolphin Adventures. Amazing. Waikiki was also very close and we drive in there half a dozen times but is was nice not to stay there. I thought that there was going to be a stove or toaster oven but there wasn't. There was also no curtain on the big windows facing the beach and although we wouldn't have been constantly using them it would have been nice as a privacy option. It also would have been nice to have a landline in the suite for planning excursions and getting take out. There was a sensor light outside that was constantly turning on at night because it was quite high and the palm branches would trigger it when the wind blew.

My husband and I stayed in this apartment for our honeymoon. We really loved the cute little space and being right next to the beach. The only thing we didn't love was noise from the street and lack of curtains for sliding glass doors. Otherwise it was the perfect location for exploring the island and the beach is great for a lazy day!

I had been to Oahu/ Waikiki once before and stayed in a highrise hotel in Waikiki. My boyfriend and I were looking for a different kind of stay this time, the rest, relaxation, nature and beauty of Hawaii, but also with access to the upbeat nightlife and activities of the city. The Beach Front Studio was certainly ideal for this! The place is even nicer than the photos on this site, and very clean. You literally just step out onto the patio and are on the beach! The other reviews said the beach was rocky here, but I was pleasantly surprised that there was enough sandy beach to layout and sunbathe. However, I'd recommend wearing water shoes in the water since the bottom is pretty rocky/ corally. Luckily, the owner provides these shoes, along with kayaks, surf and boogie boards, which is definitely an added bonus! This place has pretty much everything you'd need for a home away from home- a kitchen, washer/ dryer, jacuzzi, satellite TV (although to be honest, we couldn't figure out how to work it, so I'd suggest asking the owner for a demo if you think you'll be doing a lot of TV watching). The only one thing lacking (at the risk of sounding totally narcissistic, but some of you ladies will appreciate this) is a full length mirror. I got by using the reflection from the sliding doors though :). There are plenty of grocery stores and places to eat and shop nearby also. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and as always, our vacation seemed way too short. We'd definitely stay here again!

This was our first time in Honolulu but hopefully not our last. We so enjoyed our time there. The condo was lovely and it was easy dealing with Holly Sweet, who handled our reservation and check-in in such a pleasant manner. We arrived on March 3 for 4 nights. While the weather wasn’t great, it didn’t deter us from forging ahead with our travel must-sees: Pearl Harbour, the North Shore, surfing (at the Ty Gurney School –a total blast). Holly gave us a great restaurant recommendation - Morimoto's - and it was absolutely amazing. There were even fireworks (every Friday night) so it made our evening all the more special! Honolulu is absolutely amazing but I would also recommend visiting the rest of the island. It has a lot to offer. Don't forget to take a surfing lesson with Ty...a bucket list moment for sure!

We've rented several properties through VRBO. They have all been fine, but nothing we felt we could really rave about. Then we stayed here. We thought this property was great for 2 people -- we visited in mid-January and enjoyed mid-70 degree weather all week, no rain. The accommodations were clean, well appointed, the bed was comfortable. It was all just right for an active couple. There are two grocery stores close by. After watching the sun rise over Koko Head each morning, we surfed, kayaked and swam right in front of the house (bring water shoes because of the rocky bottom). The surrounding area is very nice and residential, the beach feels semi-private. It's easy to get into Waikiki, but not so close that you felt like you were in the city. Having bus stops close to the house made it easy to get into the city and avoid parking costs. The location of the property made getting to the eastern side of the island quick and easy, which was great because of the beautiful beaches that direction. The equipment provided on site -- surf boards, kayaks, boogie boards -- made getting into the water easy. Being allowed access to additional equipment through the surf shop in Waikiki was a great bonus -- no need to haul boards into the city, just stop by the shop, pick up a board, and walk to the easy surf break right in front. The owner and manager were very nice and accommodating. We highly recommend this property!
