Why the Owner Chose Black Mountain
This little cabin was purchased to acommodate family and other out-of town visitors and it's renovation was one of my projects. I now rent it through Homeaway and VRBO so that others can enjoy Swannanoa, Black Mountain and Asheville as much as I do.
Brett's Falling Waters Cabin is 3 miles from Warren Wilson College.
4 Miles from Brett's Falling Waters Cabin on Old Route 70 in Swannanoa is Ingles Market, a 24 hour Grocery, Pharmacy, and gas station. Credit Cards and Self Checkout.
Owner's Map of Black Mountain
I came to the mountains over 25 years ago from Florida and love living here; the people are wonderful and the atmosphere is terrific. The cabin and the surrounding acreage is family owned; my daughter and her husband built their vacation home (Asheville Lookout) above the cabin and help me with the upkeep of the property.

Lovely, easy access, prompt staff, clean

My husband and I stayed in the cabin for our honeymoon. The directions were clear, the cabin was incredibly clean, and was just as described/photographed. We only used one of the two bedrooms and it was more than enough for us. We paid for a hottub, but when we arrived, it wasn't filled. We called the number and within 20 minutes, someone came to fill it. By the next day, after he came back to put the chemicals in it, we truly enjoyed it! I don't know that there is much better than relaxing in a hot tub with a mountain view. We weren't able to sleep well because of a pesky squirrel in the roof, but I think that just comes with the territory! Nearby Black Mountain was a great town! Everyone was increcibly nice and helpful. If you're a cyclist, visit Epic Cycles...they are exceptional! We will definitely be back!

We stayed here 4 nights and found the cabin filled with all we needed for quiet, peaceful time alone with each other. The kitchen is fully equipped with more appliances than we could ever use. The place was very clean and tidy. The water fall was especially comforting to hear from the solitude of the porch swing. We were planning another stay in October but did not book in time. We will stay here again in the future. PS. The Ingles in Swannoa has everything you will need from meds tto salads.

Wonderful Get Away

This was a wonderful get away for us -- two sisters who live far apart and wanted to spend some quality time together, away from work and the responsibilities of home. The cabin was cozy, but had everything we needed. Beautiful view -- woods and waterfalls. Very peaceful. The property was clean and well maintained. The description of the cabin, amenities, etc. was accurate. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend, but not too many friends, because I hope to return and don't want all the times to be taken. :-) This property is pet friendly, as are many of the shops in Black Mountain. I loved being able to have my "wo-man's best friend" with me. This cabin is centrally located between Black Mountain and Asheville, making both very easy to visit, shop, sight-see. Great place! Thank you to the owner for making such a wonderful place available !!!!!!

My husband and I rented this cabin for a month while our house was being renovated. We loved it. It was clean and had beautiful views of the mountains. We loved it. The kitchen was newly renovated and the whole cabin was very nice and homelike...We really enjoyed the hot tub on the porch as well as the large kitchen area. I would strongly suggest this rental to anyone. We enjoyed the firepit in the evenings, we had every thing that we needed. What a great retreat location! I would rent it again.
Owner response:Christy and Dan, you were wonderful to have as guests. We appreciated your kind words about our housekeeper and maintenance staff in our guestbook, and look forward to having you and your friends visit with us again. Thank you!

While Asheville Lookout is great for extended vacations, the Falling Waters cabin was perfect for a weekend stay. We loved the ambience of the 'falling waters', especially at night and morning when the sound would drift through the open windows. And the central air system was most appreciated during the day time hours during this very humid and hot weekend (thank you Lorna!) The descriptions of each property have been on the money and well documened. In my experience, the owners are very responsive and have been more than little accessible and helpful every time I've contacted them. Perfect place for a home base to visit the general Asheville area whether it be Asheville itself, Black Mountain (a great, laidback town), Linville Gorge, Mt. Mitchell, Davidson River in the Pisgah Forest, Biltmore, Brevard, etc. Strongly recommened.

This was the perfect getaway. Everything was clean and working well. TV and DVD player was a bonus. Having VS on cable so I could watch the Tour de France was the cherry on top. I could not ask for anything more!

This cabin was great!!! The description in the listing was accurate. We found the cabin to be clean, private and provided a great place to relax. The cabin was stocked with plenty of towels and the kitchen had everything you could need. We highly recommend this cabin to any couple or small family. As a side note, we also found the residents of Swannanoa to be very friendly and honest people. Our car broke down the 2nd day (Sunday) at a stoplight and some local residents gave us a ride to get a rental car and suggested some local mechanics. The next day the car was towed to Chandlers Tire and Auto and the car was repaired for a more than reasonable price. We would definitely stay at this cabin in the future if available.

Not Great, but Good Enough

The cabin is nice, generally clean and well maintained and is in a fairly quiet location. It doesn't have a grand mountain view, but is quiet and the background noise from the waterall is a nice feature. The cabin is easily accessible from I-40, very close to town and centrally located to the usual Asheville area tourist spots. Directions to the cabin were good, though keyed to road signs which weren't necessarily present (the distances were correct though, so we found it easily enough). On arrival the glassware in kitchen was all spotted, so we felt obligated to wash the dishes prior to using them. The hot tub was dirty, but the Maint. staff cleaned it for us when we called about it. There are squirrells living in the chimney (or roof) but they did not make a nuiscance of themselves. Drinking water was palatable, hot water was really hot (be careful you don't get scalded hot), furnace worked well and was quiet. The 3 of us stayed 4 nights and were generally pleased with the place. It is roomy enough for 3 - 4 people without feeling cramped. I would be kind of worried about staying there during heavy rains though, as the falling waters named in the property title actually cross over the gravel driveway. I imagine the driveway could easily become impassible during or after a heavy rain. No issues with it for us though. Yes, I would recommend this cabin to a friend.
