Brett's Falling Waters Cabin for 4, Hot Tub, Waterfall, Pet Friendly
- Minimum stay:2 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Listen to the babbling brook and waterfall just steps away from this cheerful little cabin in the woods. Relax on the porch, or enjoy the hot tub while planning a day of adventure in the village of Black Mountain or downtown Asheville. The nightly rental fee is $150.00, taxes 10%, Housekeeping $75.00. We offer a 3-night Weekend Special, taxes and cleaning included, for $450.00. Pet fee for up to two (2) pets is $75.00 per rental. Reduced rates are quoted for guests staying 7-14 days. We can accommodate up to 4 guests.
Nestled in a corner of 15 wooded acres that may be hiked, Falling Waters has a peaceful, back to nature appeal. The cabin is perfect for honeymooners, couples, or small families who want to enjoy a little solitude and comfort in a private mountain setting, but not too far from restaurants and the nightlife of downtown Asheville. Two bedrooms and one bath, modern eat-in Kitchen. A cozy firebox lends ambiance and warmth to the living room with cable TV and free internet access. The driveway is gravel, level, and accessible by any vehicle. Pet Friendly!
Answers to Frequent Questions: The cabin is screened from the nearest neighbor and roadway by trees and hilly terrain. The driveway is gravel and level, so a regular car may be driven right up to the cabin. Level Kitchen door entry. The front porch (3 steps) is gated. The property is comprised of fifteen acres of woods, with a trail to the top of the mountain for exercising your pet and enjoying a different view of the surroundings.
Shopping and Restaurants: The nearest grocery store is Ingles Market on Route 70, 4 miles from the cabin. They have a full service pharmacy, movie rentals, extended shopping hours, self-checkout, and accept major credit cards. Black Mountain (10 miles) has many wonderful restaurants; we can personally recommend the Black Mountain Bistro, My Father's Pizza, Veranda Cafe and Las Quezelas (authentic Mexican). For those who like atmosphere with their coffee, visit the Dripolator Coffeehouse on State Street.

We just spent 4 wonderful days at this comfy cabin. The kitchen was well stocked and despite the freezing temps outside it was warm and cozy inside. My 14 year old daughter saw snow for the first time and the memory of watching her outside by the waterfall in the snow was priceless!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

My husband, daughter and myself spent 4 days at the cabin and had a fantastic time. The kitchen was well stocked, and though it was freezing and snowy out the cabin was nice and toasty. We enjoyed a nice hike up the Mtn. just behind the house and loved the waterfall on the property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The cabin was everything we'd hoped it would be and more. We were close to golf courses but secluded enough to feel away from it all. Our stay was very comfortable.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed in the cabin for our honeymoon. The directions were clear, the cabin was incredibly clean, and was just as described/photographed. We only used one of the two bedrooms and it was more than enough for us. We paid for a hottub, but when we arrived, it wasn't filled. We called the number and within 20 minutes, someone came to fill it. By the next day, after he came back to put the chemicals in it, we truly enjoyed it! I don't know that there is much better than relaxing in a hot tub with a mountain view. We weren't able to sleep well because of a pesky squirrel in the roof, but I think that just comes with the territory! Nearby Black Mountain was a great town! Everyone was increcibly nice and helpful. If you're a cyclist, visit Epic Cycles...they are exceptional! We will definitely be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We stayed here 4 nights and found the cabin filled with all we needed for quiet, peaceful time alone with each other. The kitchen is fully equipped with more appliances than we could ever use. The place was very clean and tidy. The water fall was especially comforting to hear from the solitude of the porch swing. We were planning another stay in October but did not book in time. We will stay here again in the future. PS. The Ingles in Swannoa has everything you will need from meds tto salads.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway.

This was a wonderful get away for us -- two sisters who live far apart and wanted to spend some quality time together, away from work and the responsibilities of home. The cabin was cozy, but had everything we needed. Beautiful view -- woods and waterfalls. Very peaceful. The property was clean and well maintained. The description of the cabin, amenities, etc. was accurate. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend, but not too many friends, because I hope to return and don't want all the times to be taken. :-) This property is pet friendly, as are many of the shops in Black Mountain. I loved being able to have my "wo-man's best friend" with me. This cabin is centrally located between Black Mountain and Asheville, making both very easy to visit, shop, sight-see. Great place! Thank you to the owner for making such a wonderful place available !!!!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I rented this cabin for a month while our house was being renovated. We loved it. It was clean and had beautiful views of the mountains. We loved it. The kitchen was newly renovated and the whole cabin was very nice and homelike...We really enjoyed the hot tub on the porch as well as the large kitchen area. I would strongly suggest this rental to anyone. We enjoyed the firepit in the evenings, we had every thing that we needed. What a great retreat location! I would rent it again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Christy and Dan, you were wonderful to have as guests. We appreciated your kind words about our housekeeper and maintenance staff in our guestbook, and look forward to having you and your friends visit with us again. Thank you!

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1990
About the owner: Brett: I came to the mountains over 25 years ago from Florida and love living here; the people are wonderful and the atmosphere is terrific. The Cabin and the surrounding acreage is family owned; my daughter Lorna and her husband Bob built their vacation home (Asheville Lookout Chalet) above the cabin and help me with the management of the property.
Why the Owner Chose Black Mountain:
Brett: This little cabin was purchased to accommodate family and other out of town visitors and it's renovation was one of my projects. I now rent it through Homeaway and VRBO so that others can enjoy Swannanoa, Black Mountain and Asheville as much as I do.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
Built in 1932, renovated in 1992 and completely refurbished in 2010 for the continuing enjoyment of our guests, the Cabin is a perfect place for a weekend getaway. The waterfall can be viewed from the deck (or hot tub), and the general tone of the property is quiet, relaxing comfort.
