Very clean, cozy place.

We stayed at this townhouse with my husband and 2 kids for 10 days on Christmas holidays in 2011. The owner was very nice and easy to work with. Prior to our arrivial he sent us detailed instructions how to get to Steamboat from the airport and how to find his townhouse in Steamboat. Upon our arrival he called me to make sure that we had everything we needed. Townhouse itself is very cozy and clean. It is conviniently located near the bus stop that goes to the ski base and further around the town. It looks like the owner stays in his townhouse with his family a lot and takes a good care of his property. I would definetely recommend this place even for families with more kids as it's got planty of sleeping space.

Memorial Day weekend in Steamboat

Guest: Robin (Boulder, CO)
Date of Stay: 05/27/11 Review Submitted: 09/20/11

Our family of four enjoyed 5 days over Memorial weekend 2011 in this townhome. I loved how clean the place was and the nice furniture made it a comfortable place to stay. The well stocked kitchen allowed us to cook a nice meal for those nights we ate in. In addition, we luxuriated in the complex's hot tub under the stars. We didn't need to drive as just outside we could catch the local bus into town. It was also convenient to jump on the bike paths allowing us to bike along the Yampa River to the quaint downtown of Steamboat. The owners provided maps and suggestions to great hikes, mountain bike trails and their favorite restaurants! Overall the trip was relaxing with memorable hikes and outings! We will definitely be back to visit Steamboat and will hopefully be able to book this same townhome!

A very comfortable and clean condo ideal for a family to enjoy the delights of the Steamboat and the surrounding area. The owners were friendly, informative and completely transparent. In short a joy to deal with.

Excellent Townhouse!

What a wonderful retreat! I have stayed in this townhome numerous times with friends and family and have found each experience to be exceptional! The Townhome has been a perfect get-a-way for my children, ages 18 and 15, and myself to unwind and take in all the local activities from shopping, hot springs, boating, tubing, bike riding, and of course skiing! My 87 year old Grandmother and my mother have joined the kids and I for a summer weekend stay and enjoyed visiting the botanic gardens in Steamboat. My 2 girlfriends and their families have also come up for a 4 day stay and we found the townhouse to be comfortable to fit the needs of 12 people! The owners were very helpful in suggesting local activities, restaurants suitable for both adult time and family time and many other helpful suggestions for getting around Steamboat. The townhouse has been above standard clean every time I have stayed there. I have found it extremely comfortable and well stocked. Every encounter with the owners have been pleasant and I have found them extremely easy to work with. I would recommend this townhouse, along with it's fantastic location, to anyone looking to experience the beautiful Colorado Rocky Mountains!

Wonderful Townhouse

Guest: CES (Chicago)
Date of Stay: 03/28/11 Review Submitted: 09/18/11

We have returned to this townhouse twice. Both of our visits have been during ski season and we have had a great time during our 5 day stays. We love how easy it is to get to the mountain from the townhouse. It is very convenient that our group of 5 can come and go from the townhouse as desired. Not having to coordinate ski schedules and knowing its easy and safe for our kids to get home is great! We travel a lot and rent on a regular basis and have found this townhouse to have a wonderful warm, cozy feeling. It has always been clean and well stocked. We have found that the owners go out of their way to be helpful - doing extras such as sending along coupons for discount ski rentals and providing recommendations of things to do locally. In addition to being close to the mountain, it is also easy to get to the grocery store and "downtown" Steamboat. We can't wait for our next visit!

Lovely Condo & Excellent Location

Guest: LuxuryLuversx5 (Sydney, Australia)
Date of Stay: 12/08/08 Review Submitted: 09/12/11

We are a family of 5 & stayed in this condo for a week in early December. The condo was very clean & comfortable & the owners a delight to deal with. The location was perfect, near enough to the skiing but far enough away from noise (lovely views from the back bedrooms across to the mountains). Having 3 children aged 6 to14 meant the shuttle bus was perfect because of the frequency it ran as there is nothing worse than tired children at the end of the day! The owners also provided an excellent folder with information/brochures in it from eating out in the area to tourist activities (would thoroughly recommend a trip to Strawberry Park Hot Springs-simply divine in the snow).

A wonderful ski vacation!!!!

Guest: Colleen (Bethesda, Maryland)
Date of Stay: 03/20/11 Review Submitted: 09/05/11

A wonderful ski vacation!!! My family has spent three spring break vacations staying at this property while skiing at Steamboat Springs. All of them have been great family experiences. We prefer this ski resort to the several other options in Colorado because the atmosphere is more relaxed, we never have to drive anywhere because the free local shuttle takes us everywhere we want to go, and there are less tourists here – more locals. You can practically walk to the ski lifts from this condo– but take the shuttle, it stops right outside the door! We travel from the East coast so we can only bring what is in our suitcases – but we have never seemed to be in need of anything – the condo is well stocked. It is a clean, cozy place to end our exhausting day of skiing.

Do not recommend staying here, lack of honesty from owner

Guest: KFowler (Boulder, CO)
Date of Stay: 06/14/11 Review Submitted: 07/05/11

If I could give this property and owner 0 stars, I would. As someone with a history of positive rental experiences on VRBO, I do not recommend staying at this property or doing business with the owner on any properties he may own. The owner lacked transparency and honesty in his dealings with me. -I stayed at this condo in Steamboat for two nights in June. -About a week before our arrival, the owner called saying that his friend’s home was threatened due to flooding in Steamboat. He asked if they could store items in a bedroom of his condo. I agreed and was not offered compensation. -When we arrived in Steamboat, the condo appeared to have permanent tenants: food in the refrigerator, clothes in closets, personal effects in bathrooms, and questionable cleanliness of bathrooms and linens- not just in the one room we agreed on. -We contacted the owner, he sent over someone (the permanent tenant) to re-clean that evening. They touched up the bathrooms and confirmed the linens were clean. The toilet seat still had bodily fluids. -I spoke with the owner again, saying I thought the condo had full time tenants. He said nothing but agreed to "do the right thing" and give me a 50% refund. I agreed to this. -I then discovered a clearly visible long term lease to two full-time tenants (signed after our agreement, three months prior to our arrival and to run through fall), asking them to vacate during our stay and another scheduled, potentially VRBO stay over July 4th. -After our stay, I contacted the owner again about the lease and tenants and asked for my refund per our agreement. He still didn’t say that there were tenants in his unit, but instead sent me a settlement agreement saying he'd give me the agreed upon 50% refund if I returned the keys (I did) and promised never to talk about this experience on VRBO or any other public place. Since that was not our agreement, I could not sign it. -Due to my bad experience and the owner's lack of honesty, I could not sign a document that prohibited me from disclosing the truth. I feel that it is important to tell others about how he conducted his business, his lack of honesty, and his lack of "doing the right thing" as he claimed. Further requests to get my refund have been met with the same settlement, only offering the agreed upon refund if I do not disclose my experience in the public domain. I would never recommend staying in this unit (it may have other tenants) or working with this owner to anyone, ever.
