This was the first time we did vrbo. Everything about the house was great: the house was clean, the location was convenient and there was a garage for storage. We were pleasantly surprised about the location, it was within walking distance to downtown holland and close to grocery stores. There was parks and a pool within 2-3 blocks. This house was great for children as the location was ideal. The house was 10-15 minutes away from he beach by car. Again the house was very cute and decorated well. THe kitchen was updated and there was plenty of seating space. The patio was relaxing. The house was on a corner and a large was a garage was there, which was nice to keep our bikes and bike trailer there. Would love to stay here again if we come back!

Our family traveled from three locations in the Midwest to share time together in Holland. We were there for the opening weekend of the Tulip Festival and took in many events and activities. The weather was perfect...as were the accommodations. There were three couples and a toddler....with a bedroom available for each family. The large dining table had room for everyone...and the kitchen was well supplied for cooking an dining. We enjoyed time on the patio and made use of the gas grill. There was a pack and play as well as a high chair for our youngest member. The home is in easy walking distance of downtown Holland and we walked several times. Downtown Holland had lots of restaurants and many interesting shops....there was something for everyone. We highly recommend this rental!

This is an adorable, modern, clean and attractively decorated rental. We drank coffee in the mornings on the porch and sat and talked there in the evenings. Good sized bedrooms and large bathrooms. Great location. Convenient to downtown Holland and just 10-15 mintues to the lake parks on Lake Michigan. Brought our bikes and enjoyed the miles of bike trails. Couldn't have asked for more!! Will try to stay there again next year. Holland is a wonderful place to vacation!

We always stay somewhere along the western shore of Michigan, and this year we chose Holland. We asked another couple to join us this year, and we all loved the vacation home. It is just as sweet, clean, and nicely decorated as the pictures look. The neighborhood is convenient to downtown, and quite quiet. We enjoyed coffee on the porch in the mornings while we planned our day, and drinks there in the evening as we talked about our day and where to have dinner. We loved the Holland area. It is close enough to easily venture to Grand Haven, Saugatuck, and South Haven. The guys enjoyed salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. We loved sunsets and days at the beach, shopping, the great variety of restaurants, and grilling out. We would highly recommend this home! I am homesick for it and the area just writing about it!

I was in Holland for a Michigan and having the house as an alternative to staying in a hotel was wonderful for myself and my friends. It is conveniently located close to town (walking distance) and much more affordable to have a fully furnished house. It was great to be able to BBQ and cook without needing to always dine out. The house was thoughtfully remodeled and perfect accommodations for three couples. While we were only there for a short stay, it would have been a great place for a much longer visit. I'm sure most visiting Holland would be looking for waterfront accommodations, but this was a better alternative for easy access to town and all of the other water recreation that one would want without the same expense. The owners were very responsive and flexible to help us meet our needs and were very helpful in making sure we had everything we needed for our stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay; the home was well maintained and conveniently located near many attractions including 8th Street, parks, museums, library and Aquatic Center. The kitchen was very well equipped. The only downside was the train whistle and road noise at night - made sleeping a little tough, but other than that, perfect!

We rented this three bedroom cottage for 10 days over Christmas and loved it! We arrived after a full day of travel to find lights on, a wreath on the door, and a Christmas tree in the living room. Our trepidations over spending Christmas away from home quickly diminished. I can't imagine spending this same amount of time in a hotel over the holidays. The cottage is as cute as the pictures and is in great location. We would highly recommend this to others.

This home is every bit as charming as it appears in the photos! Every detail is top of the line. Every comfort of home is provided. The home is also in a great location, convenient to downtown, just minutes from Saugatuck. We couldn't have enjoyed our stay more! Thanks, Elaine, for a great weekend.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Elaine's cottage! It was perfectly equipped for what we needed. We had a little one with us and there was even a stroller and playmat we could use for her! The location is great in reference to downtown and is witin walking distance to some cafes and eateries. It is super easy to find and on a safe block. The neighbor lady was also very helpful and informative throughout our stay. We had a couple downfalls during our stay: 1. a massive wind storm blew through and took out the power most of the day and a tree limb broke off and landed on my sister-in-laws windshield - shattering that. Fortunately there are many things to do in the area and we really just wanted to relax anyway. 2. the starter on the gas gril was out. We had to use a match to light it, a little dangerous but not too much for our family. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed sitting on the patio in the mornings and front porch in the evenings! The chairs and porch swing area must and really added to our stay. For being our 25th year of traveling to the area and trying something new with the rental property we really enjoyed ourselves. We are already planning our trip for next summer! Thanks Elaine

We are five retired women who travel somewhere together every summer. We found your darling house on the internet. It was everything and more then we expected. The pictures were exactly what the house looked like thank goodness. We like to stay in a house that is at least as clean as our own and this one was. Usually I won't even take my shoes off in a strange house, but I was barefoot most of the time. We all had the best time. We would day trip everyday and play card games at night. We would have our coffee on the front porch swing every morning. The bed I was in was soooo comfortable. Only problem was, everytime I got up to use the bathroom I would hit my leg on the frame at the bottom of the bed. After a few hits, I would make sure to avoid it.(that would be the upstairs bedroom with the bath.) Also, it would be nice if you put a cover over the upstairs bathroom door. We all said we would stay there again in a heartbeat. Beautiful and comfortable. I would suggest just about any restaurant, the farmers market, Holland Beach, downtown Holland, St. Joseph, the beach and town, and Sagatuck. We really wish we could have stayed longer. We felt safe walking the neighborhood.

                          Owner info

                          Year Purchased: 2003

About the owner: I have been a resident of Holland most of my life. Almost 7 years ago on 070707 I was married and moved from this house to the outskirts of town to live with my husband, our 5 year old son Caeden and Golden Retriever, Duncan. This house was a labor of love for me and I absolutely love the place. Not ready to totally part with it, I thought I would like to share it with travelers who may be coming to town...

                          Why the Owner Chose Holland:
I originally purchased this home for myself and lived here for 4 years. It was a labor of love for me with restoring the staircase to tearing out walls and ceilings and updating the entire home. It's really a beautiful place!

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Every once in a while my husband and I and our son, stay in the house as a little get away. The neighborhood is so nice for walking and there is a park nearby we also like to head downtown to cruise the shops and grab a coffee as the downtown Holland area is just awesome. Thursday nights in the summer are great as there is entertainment going on in the streets downtown.
